Graco 390 - How to Change the Pressure Control / Transducer

- Here im changing over a pressure control on a Graco 390. We had no control over the pressure and was not able to dial in any pressures. Its a simple fix and easy to do at home. Follow along and get back up spraying.

Hi buddy. Wondered if I could pick your brains on here. Im using a cordless 390
Only when I clean my machine...it seems to have water come out of the prime/dump hose aswell as the gun when the switch is selected to spray. There's also a little hiss from the bottom where the prime hose is connected. Ive tightened it as much as possible but still nothing changed.
It runs fine when I'm running paint through it.
Don't know if it's the prime hose? Or the switch? Or something else?

@djg616 hey thanks for the message. Great unit, ive got one too. When cleaning have you got the gun connected?
Id say usually a hiss is coming from the valve itself. It could be blocked so not able to close properly meaning it can flow through spray and prime.
You could try and see if a blockage is the issue. build pressure quite high than flick into prime to dump it, build up and flick in prime again. This could blow out any crap stoppinv prime valve from shutting off.
I made a video about changing a prime valve on a graco 390. Take a look at that. Unscrew it and see if theres a blockage, screw back on and try it.
I think a new prime valve is just over 100quid worst case.
Its rarely the pipe. Hissing usually the valve itself.

Bro that's awesome. Yes the gun is connected. So when the switch is on spray and I have the trigger down it's coming out the prime hose and trickling out of the gun and building no pressure. To clean the machine. Works like a dream when there's paint running through it

After the 2nd day using it, its building pressure but not stopping and leaking paint out of the waste line. Ive cleaned it out, checked the balls, its has oil. No idea
@itztheurge if its leaking out of the waste line and trying to build pressure. Then there must be a blockage in the prime valve. Keep flicking it between spray and prime while it's turned on to try and block the blockage out

@itztheurge let me know how you get on. Take a look at my prime valve video. It's using a graco 495 but it's the same process. You may have a blockage or the prime valve may have failed
