- The Puget Sound in Washington State has a huge untapped resource - flounder! These abundant fish are easy to catch and make them the perfect fish to introduce youngsters to fishing. Flounder come in a variety of species; sand dabs, rock sole, and starry flounder. We catch them all in this episode where Mike Carey heads out with Northwest Fishing's Robbie Sy and writer Hannah Pennebaker for a fun and informative day of flounder fishing. South Sound locations are explored and flounder fishing how-to tips are abundant!

why in the heck would you fish in 90 feet of water in puget sound for flounder when you can find them almost anywhere in 15-25 ft water in the sound

Yeah.......I agree. Maybe 60 years ago I wouldn't have a problem with a catch and cook scenario, but these days with all of the heavy metals in our waterways, it would be extremely foolish to eat one of these bottom feeders.
