- I'll take you on a tour of one of San Francisco's best neighborhoods, North Beach! Home to Little Italy and right next to Fisherman's Warf and Chinatown, North Beach is really in the center of it all! We'll walk you through some of the most important things in a neighborhood like; housing costs, restaurants, groceries, public transportation and what there is to see and do in North Beach! Finding a place to live can be incredibly difficult if you haven't explored the area, hopefully this neighborhood tour can help you figure out where to live in San Francisco!

the Mission for sure! miss living there. Sunset is one my favs too cuz its relaxed atmosphere. But North Beach is def on my top 5 neighborhoods.

Rian, I am so glad to see such an honest video of North Beach as well as an expression of love for the neighborhood. It was also nice to see my actual home featured in your video almost a dozen times! I have been so thankful to live in North Beach over the past few years, and miraculously my rent is affordable and I am a mere 10-minute walk from everything I need (including my place of work). I count my blessings every day because with the world the way it is right now, I am fully aware that my ability to stay here can easily disappear. This neighborhood gives me the best of all I want/need in San Francisco, and you better believe I am going to fight to stay. Thank you so much for this beautifully shot video, and it would be a pleasure to pass by your awesome faces the next time I'm walking about 😊

Crazy expensive, and a beautiful and famous neighborhood--but one facing tough changes like many others. Some small businesses have a hard time thriving. Excellent walk score. Your video is comprehensive with beautiful drone shots and shows touristy sites, but the most important thing about North Beach is its history. This neighborhood is more cohesive than others in SF because locals are dedicated to it. On the other hand, for younger people it can feel more stuck and less open to new influences. I think locals prefer it that way.
Regarding 1:29, San Francisco's oldest Street "Grant Avenue" was not its original name which used to be called Dupont Street in honor of U.S. Navy Commander Samuel Francis Du Pont of the USS Cyane during the Mexican-American War which liberated California in 1848. During the California Gold Rush days, its name was Dupont Street. However after the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake, Chinatown was rebuilt and Dupont Street was renamed for President Ulysses S. Grant. In Chinatown, Grant Avenue is still called "Dupont Street" in the Cantonese language.
People are always so damn negative about SF. This is a great video. You did a great job. Definitely one of the best vids of SF I’ve seen on UA-cam. I love living in and raising my toddler in SF. Wouldn’t live anywhere else! ❤️
Great video of North Beach. I've been going to Molinari's deli on Columbus avenue since the early 60's. Best Italian deli sandwiches in the City by the Bay!!!!!!!!!! 👍

I moved here in 1993 and have never moved!! He missed one feature: panoramic views everywhere (not just from Coit Tower) - 99% rating !!! I ❤️ North Beach!!

I was lucky I knew my driver ... He let me get on one day because a homeless man started seeing on the sidewalk... At 7am in the morning... Right in front of kids... Oh pants down to the floor.
Don't say anything about this is a great place when I work in Silicon Valley and when I walk to my job and right next to a preschool there is a used heroin needle. Please note that this state gives them out for free. Please shut all the way up. #HaveSomeIceCream with Nancy Pelosi and leave the rest of us alone.

I live in the Inner Sunset (right in between Kezar Stadium and UCSF. I love it there, it’s seriously not as bad as people say it is.
Have spent lots of time in that neighborhood! Checkout Arizmendi bakery if you haven't already!
I was born & raised in the Inner Sunset district. Funston & Lincoln Way. Our hangout on Friday nights was always Pasquale's pizza on 8th & Irving street!!!!!!!!!! 👍
I am looking for a place by UCSF but since I’m not really used to the roads their only in Oakland I get confused lol so I was wondering if you can give me some places near Ucsf that I can check out
You've got a ton of great food in that area! Close by in Cole Valley you have one of the best breakfast spots in all SF in Zazie! Biet Rima is an awesome middle eastern spot! In Inner Sunset some highlights are Manna for Korean food, snowbird for coffee and Arizmendi bakery!

I have only felt 2-3 very small earthquakes in the last 4 years here.
A Major earthquake 5.0 or above only usually happens every 10 years or so. No need to worry. I was in the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake that was 7.0 and we survived nicely!!!!!!! 👍

Don't forget about the liquefaction - North Beach was the hardest hit area in the quake of 89. I personally would never live on landfill.

Correct, it was the Marina District that was hit the hardest, because it's ironically landfill from the 1906 earthquake. Most of North Beach is on solid bedrock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just an FYI: in SF Greenwich is pronounced like "Green _ wich" not like Greenwich village in NY.

Have you ever been to SF? I've never even seen crap on the street apart from dog poop every once in a while. And homeless are everywhere in the nation not just SF
@@Skittles1987 thank you. People love bashing sf because they hate the mayor. Take a look at LA. Garcetti is not any better. They are more homeless and filth in LA than SF.
This isn't a new problem either. Homelessness has been a big part of San Francisco since the early 1970's. The local government has always just put a bandaid on it.

North Beach, for sure, is my favorite area! I lived in SF for five years and just moved to Austin. Good luck to anyone moving to SF. Unfortunately, people are not exaggerating... it indeed has turned into a disgusting place to live. Pee and poop everywhere so intense you can taste it in the air. The sense of fear and anger there is terrible, along with the fake activists. Think before you move there. I honestly do not recommend moving there... This is coming from a Bay Area Native.
I would have liked a more realistic video of what Is like living there, this video felt very touristy.

Here are a couple of videos that provide a far more honest view. This has nothing to do with politics, as I believe the second guy is a democrat. I'm just mentioning this because I don't want anyone saying I must be some Republican saying this because I hate SF. I lived in the Bay Area my entire life, and I'm not wealthy; I am a bartender. I have no reason to lie. The truth is SF is terrible. Some areas are more protected, like the Marina, for example, you won’t see homeless as much, but those areas are more expensive, so the police keep them out. Even so, it's become such a problem that the nice areas are becoming worse. If you travel to SF now or anytime during the pandemic, you won’t see the homeless, but that’s only because they are being housed in hotels right now.
On top of that, they have bedbugs, and bedbugs are the most difficult to kill. You need hardcore chemicals, and they infest like crazy. No one is talking about that and the mess that’s going to cause.
I've been attacked in broad daylight in the financial district; I've been flashed outside of my apartment, I've witnessed multiple people shooting up in front of restaurants as well as seen hundreds of needles scattered on the ground, witnessed drug deals right next to a park meant for kids with needles all day long, I know a guy who was beaten so badly he ended up in a coma in the hospital after being robbed, I've seen multiple people go in and take whatever they want from the store and leave, I've seen cars all up and down the street with smashed windows, I've seen people poop and pee right in front of me... I could go on and on... I've never lived in such a terrible place, and I hope never to return. Lol, I'll stop rambling... I hope the videos give more insight.

You could give credit to the woman who you obviously know, that was in many of the locations you shot. It feels removed and awkward to having a camera obviously doing close ups and following someone with no speaking or interacting.

It's an incredible city that has many of the same problems as most other major cities in the world. Don't be discouraged by the people that are mostly voicing hate due to politics.
