I love this group before and today wonderful!
Saw the present group in Laughlin, NV back in '08. Curtis is a personal friend from when I was in my last hitch in the USAF Bands in San Antonio, TX. He and they still sound great! Long live the memory of the original group and each successive new generation of the FF!
Both groups are terrific!!!
What can you say, beyond astounding?
Can't say that I ever heard a second group of any sort, keeping so alive, so fully alive, the spirit of the first group, as this one did!.
The advance in sound recording and film quality stands out, of course.
Thank you, somebody!!
Somehow, The Four Freshmen have retained their intrinsic harmony through the years, but the world seems to be spinning around a bit faster today than it did in the 1950's to 80's, and you can see that demonstrated in the two different tempos of these two groups. I don't know how long I've been listening to them, not for 64 years but off and on for many years, and I NEVER tire hearing and enjoying their artistry, they just get better and the sound is more melodic in so many ways! Bravo-Zulu, men, it's ALWAYS a job well done with you!
Great comparison and the new group is fantastic!
De todos os grupos vocais que existiram no mundo, até os dias atuais, The Four Freshman, com certeza foram os melhores.
Just fabulous!!!
We are now (5/1/2015) at group 24 and still sounding tremendous.
Joining the FF Society right after I post this thank you, Dan. I've enjoyed all your uploads. This group and the original group are my very favorite singers of everyone I've ever listened to. I'm 65, so, that's saying a lot. My favorite genre is the music of the Four Freshmen.
Just the very best! Always love to listen to them. New group is great also!
Im 80 yrs & this group got me to play guitar &same song .Best ever Nice close harmony.Beach boys r good but no comparison.I play a lot of your songs and pretty good arrangements if I say .THXS
Grew up in Berlin and became a big fan of the 4 back in the 50th while working s a Bartender at the Studio 22,
does anyone remember those days and that place of JAZZ where performers from the US would stop by after their appearance @ The Sportpalast or other venues?
I wish I had met group 1 who bagan it all in 1948
This group (#22) was by far the best of the recent FF
There will never be another Bob though
Really great, thanks so much for the upload - would really appreciate another upload of just the new version!! Transcribing for school
Hi, Kiera, Can I download your "Poinciana" to the Four Freshmen Society
Facebook page? Thanks, Dan de la Torre
@@DandelaTorre sure! Just give credit where is due please!
Both here have brilliant harmony but I prefer the slower tempo because it allows the song to create a gorgeous mood/atmosphere that is missing with a quicker pace.
Epic! Long, long before the days of auto tune. Brian Wilson's hero's............... Gee, I wonder where the Beach Boys got their sound?
Curtis......clean!
This is fabulous.
I love the new four freshmen! Especially Curtis Calderon🌹
Well done!!!!!!
Nice job Dan - and an interesting comparison.
This was THE best 4-Freshmen, of all-time. -------------Curt, Vince, Bob & " Ike". --------------------------WolfSky9
Clever
grwat Harmony passed on to new Four Freshmen
The first group sung more slowly
Do like both groups......If I had to choose just one-- I would favor the former-- they were somewhat more smooth and laid back. Hey, who cares....they are the Four Freshmen.
no sound
