This. Got mildly triggered by it ngl xD since it was the first legendary I made and that's kinda the whole point of it. And the animation is pretty clear as well that it does that...

@@farerawei2469 and Spirit Ravens fly up the staff, and also sends out Ravens as the attack animations.

The inconsistensy in the way you explained the weapons and where you placed them was mildly infuriating. Like you had the exact same description for some of the leggies but they scored completely different tiers, just felt kinda rushed. Also with the sounds, you included it on some, but didnt bother to put it in on some of those with actual good sounds
not every legendary fits neatly into the category, there are plus and minus you need to weigh for all categories xD

I have to agree with the inconsistency. Vallun didn't establish the criteria for the grading at the start of the video making his choices look haphazard. He could have explored the effects for more abilities and discussed how the abilities change (or fail to change) across classes. He could have given better examples as to why he thought things were good or bad. I suppose it is difficult to analyze so many legendaries and compare them. I do appreciate Vallun's effort and I have watched most of his videos but I was disappointed with this format of video.

I know this is 100% subjective, but I cannot imagine a version of reality where Astralaria is rated below Frostfang. I think Astralaria is one of the prettiest legendaries there are. Crazy. Minstrel above Eureka as well? WTF…

Nah, I think most people can agree that Astralaria looks better than Frostfang. I wanted a legendary axe, so thats why I made Astralaria in the first place, since the option is pretty clear to me.

FR, when Astralaria came out I felt regret of having my Frostfang and now with the Jormag Legendary it feels even worse

I like Frostfang more than Astralaria. And although i like both of them it doesn't bother me that they were in B tier. What bothers me is that he put fucking QUIP..... ABOVE them. Ridiculous
Don't forget the minstrel actually gives you an instrument to play on. Same as the gen 2 warhorn
And the sound is different compare to a normal harp item

Saying that Bolt is just a fence, without appreciating at all the details of the dragons that are on it feels kinda odd. I think it's one of the most detailed legendaries with those dragons wrapping around the sword
thats exactly what I noticed when I was playing around with my Reshade settings and witnessed all the little details on that weapon.. its underrated imo
@@dymonz2363 While intricate, I would argue that it makes no sense as a sword. Swords are supposed to have an edge, with a fine point so you can cut and stab with them. Making a sword that's basically a barbed wireframe of a fence post, no matter how intricate, doesn't really make sense practically.

@@rolasmola9641 Its a fantasy game.. there are a lot of skins that dont make "sense".. I mean there are candy canes as weapons or quaggans attached to a stuff.. Its a roleplaying game, not a weapon simulator
I personally really like the animations of Exordium. It feels like the weapon adjusts itself to the needs of the user, making it feel legendary. Becoming more of a lightning rod for mesmer auto attacks, expanding in a shield shape when using the block on the ranger or a dagger forming at the pommel when using a pommel strike. The throwing animation is a bit weird though.
When you throw it, it forms into a throwing star. :0 Sounds like it's doing exactly what you're exalting it for!

For the Aztec weapon it would have been a great idea to make the dragon shoot the projectile, instead of from the scepter itself. Like your commanding the dragon to shoot
The blade of eternity literally looks like a window into the cosmos, thats the coolest concept I ever seen for a greatsword and you put it in the middle of B? Aint no way lmao

Nice to see some different opinions on some of the legendaries. My favorite legendary is Sunrise, it was the first one I got and the only one I have right now. I really like the light theme that it has. My least favorite legendary is probably Rodgort. I think it had a lot of potential, but it seems very boring to me.

Some of them have super cool effects when hitting an enemy like pharus bow. You should have included those too in the comparison.

I know this is an opinion based tier list, but Eternity is my all time favourite. Coolest weapon i've ever seen. Its top S tier in my list. But overall i think you are spot on
theres no other greatsword / 2h sword as cool, in any mmorpg, like Eternity, the sword is just out of this world
gotta agree. I don't see any future greatsword skin beating this. But I welcome it

it's kiond of ruined by everyone wearing it though. It's not distinctive or outstanding anymore.
I can see why you don't like Eternity, but please don't forget to mention, that the Footsteps of Eternity is way bigger and has a Explosion on it vs Sunrise&Twilight. Personaly Eternity is S-Tier weapon for me. It has 2 different effects depending on Servertime and its even differrent to Sunrise and Twilight. I can look into the Skies all day long and i don't get tired of it.
I put it at A tier, untill they make 2 new eternity versions that are only using twilight or sunrise skins (with the added eternity effects). You can't really make it fit well with a dye theme as it is currently

Hello:)! I was wondering what armor set your character during the HOPE review was! I enjoyed the video:)!
Personally, I think some of these weapons like the Howler or Meteorlogicus are designed really well and have amazing aesthetics. It's just those designs don't really work for a weapon, since weapons are small and you swing em all over the place it's very hard to appreciate all the details and at some point it all just becomes a messy blur. I think those designs are best used as full on explorable areas instead of small weapons, you can tell the artists put a lot of effort into them and imo using them as weapon models is such a waste. Legendaries should look fucking amazing, but also be not too detailed such as Eternity, Shiningblade and Kuzdu.

I mostly agree with your list but i think Twilligh should have been higher. I love it on my warrior even it's hard to combine it with other weapons sets in terms of fashion. great video!

Nice to have a look over the legends, I enjoy getting them. I have Eternity, Sunrise, Twilight, Incinerator, The Shining Blade, Shooshadoo, Bolt, Frostfang, Juggernaut, Predator. I had Rodgort, sold it so but I have the skin. I'm currently making Astralaria and I am trying to decide which one I will make after it.
with the minstrel legendary you also unlock the harp version of that legendary who's sound a lot more fluid and nice the the regular harp.

Cool video though I don't share the same view as in judging leggies based on their combat practicality only, for me it's more about the feel for example with Chuka the draw animation just feels so fluid when you're running around on thief that it makes it top tier for me, as for the worst legendary I think I hate the Dreamer just because of how much BM it feels haha.

I got eternity, frostfang and bolt combo and Im in love for years with this combo and would never change them. Def top tier for me :D

Not very objective as some people may have noticed, but still a great guide! Showing all the weapons and effects in one video was very useful! And I like your perspective on most of the tier list anyway :)
Also, allow me to give a small terminology correction: Animation is when player (or weapon) model itself moves. Nevermore ravens flying, Flameseeker page turning, head on Howl or Rodgort moving are animations (love these little details btw, really adds up the Legendary feeling for me). Sparkly glowy stuff is called VFX or visuall effect. All projectiles, traces, explosions and flashy things on drawing / swinging a weapon are effects.
Also also,
Fav legendary: Flameseeker Prophesies, really clean and not over the top visuals and effects, runes and book projectiles look especially cool, and also a big thing lore-wise! Exordium is close second because of the concept and the amount of work put in all the different weapon forms.
Least fav: Pharus. I'd love to see a cool and unique Longbow legendary, but this one looks worse than a store item (Mythic, Chaos and other skins), and even projectiles look like a downgrade from, say, Dragonhunter longbow skills.

My favorite legendary is Pharus :P A lot of my characters leans towards being shiny with bright colours and this weapon fits so cleanly with my fashion wars :P
My least favorite would probably be flames of war because of the immersion-breaking features the weapon brings.

Jugg with poly orange infusion gives you the only true gold armor. Fits perfectly with a fire charr look using ember infusion and Koda's warmth
Xiucuatl, Binding of Ipos, and Exordium are my top 3. Bi-Frost as well is high for me. I like Pharus, because it has a simple design, yet the effects it has are top tier. Quip I want for my joke character.

What do you mean practicality? When one ranks Legendary weapons they do it based on their looks. That's it. That's the whole point behind having one. And as far as looks are concerned, the greatswords can't be beat. They're genuinely the prettiest looking weapons I've seen in any mmo.
Also, you're not hitting them with magic. The blade is still a physical thing. It just drops a trail as you swing. 🤦♂️

The binding of ipos has to be one of my favorites for sure, and my least favorite would be the minstrel, since the binding of ipos is so good, also the minstel is super lackluster even with the buffed animations... Phasetwist.6089

Best: Binding of Ipos (one of my owned Legendaries) - it looks awesome, sadly I don't think many classes can really use Focus enough in Open PvE. Worst: The Dreamer - not only do I think it is ugly (preference), it's also incredibly obnoxious soundwise and forces me to put sound effects to off if someone uses it...

Most favorite: Exordium, The Shining Blade, The Binding of Ipos and Nevermore, i have 3 of them, sadly i don't really use a focus, so no Binding of Ipos

For the Kudzu if you played world of warcraft vanilla, it could be seen as a homage to Rhok'delar a pretty sick looking bow back in 2004
I would have to say my favorite legendary out of all legendaries so far would still be The Binding of Ipos. It was the second legendary I made, after Bolt (which I totally wish I would have made The Shining Blade instead, I just hadn't seen it when I made Bolt.) As for my least favorite legendary, thats a hard one. There are several legendaries i find......... truly distasteful. If I had to single-handedly pick just one, it would be Flames of War. That thing is just god-awful everything. Really enjoyed this video though. I'm glad you compiled a video with all legendaries and their effects. Definitely helps me choose which ones next. Rodgort is in the same tier as astralaria and exordium? The latter has unique animations for every ability, there are a ton of black lion torch skins that have more effects than rodgort..
flame seeker prophesy is still my favorite legendary by a pretty wide margin.
that i would put these weapons is so drastically different tiers shows how well done they are - its a lot down to taste and not just which ones got luckily well made

Punisher.8159 here. I just started playing GW2 coming up on 4 weeks ago after being a GW1 player since 2nd beta. There were a lot of negative comments from the hardcore GW1 community about this game which kept me away. After seeing on some youtube video's (some of yours even) that there were mounts, gliders, raids, and so many amazing artistic skins on top of amazing artwork I caved in and started playing. I am sooooo mad at myself for not trying the game sooner. I'm in absolute love and hooked now. I've been playing a Reaper Necro and going through all these stories and I really missed having a game with a great story and voice actors (I played Rift for awhile... yuk). This game is so much fun! I found this video to be very informative and appreciate your time. For me I think maybe Dusk is my go to favorite? I just love the dark animations but maybe that fits a greatsword wielding necro. The Bi Frost however is just gorgeous to me and fits what a legendary should be very well. For one I may not agree with I would go with the Verdarach. It's just too big and clips with armors too much. I think more thought could have gone into the angle of how it's held with "clipping" in mind. For this, I would have to rate it lower even though the animations are amazing. Thanks for the video's and keep up the good work.

My personal opinion about Claw of Khan-Ur is that it's cool because of the large stowing animation, which many legendaries don't have. Yeah it could be shinier though
Favorite Legendary : Nevermore. Fits my character lorewise to a T, has awesome effects and some RL references all combined!
Least favorite Legendary: Frostfang. I just don't like the look at all. Looks like something that was awesome on paper or 2d but in a 3d world...

For me personally, the story with Chuka and Champawat and the legendary itself is what gets it to be the best legendary overall. I like Binding of Ipos and agree with how they're trying to get the legendaries more "environmental" aspects outside of just the aura, footfall and wielding effects.
Least for me is Sharur or Flames o War, just don't feel like legendaries at all, which is a shame, because I think Sharur could have been a much better looking legendary, and we've seen adjustments made before with other legendaries. Maybe they end up doing that like they did with Dreamer and Meteorologicus.

Probably because Chuka is my first completed legendary so there's bias, but the tiger roar effect just makes it a really unique and top tier legendary for me.

The Minstel is good because you get a legendary instrument with it so you can be a Bard.
I'm counting on EOD to be mainly underwater content and force my underwater leggies to shoot up in value.
Kudzu: "Is just flowers. Arrows are flowers, footsteps are flowers. That's it. And that's what a legendary should be, that's an A."
(literally 10 seconds later)
Pharus: "It looks flashy. Shoots lightbeams, (footsteps become flashy), and that's it. So that's why it is low B tier."
Personally loved the video. Felt like the author didn't stick to his own standards for ranking, but this video was amazing showcase and help with legendary-options in general.

Favorite: Shining Blade (amazing looking skin, powerful lore item, subtle animation fx, has one of the best footfalls of all legendaries, practical for Leg Armory as almost all classes can utilize swords)
Least Favorite: Flames of War (unwieldly off-balanced oversized candlestick, barely visible animation fx, odd looking hexagonal footfalls, they should add drips of candle wax coming off the weapon and appearing as splotches on the ground)

I've crafted a number of these myself and I made Shooshadoo because it was hilarious to have a quaggan with me in a fishbowl, although if I were going to redo this, I would probably have chosen Flameseeker Prophecies instead since I'm a big GW1 fan. Unfortunately shields are not that great on Warrior, which is my main class.
I didn't realize how many legendaries utilize the flames look with footsteps and attacks. The Claw of Khan Ur doesn't distinguish itself from Incinerator enough in my opinion and it costs a lot more to craft. There is lore reason for the dagger to exist, since it was the MacGuffin in the Ghosts of Ascalon novel, but Incinerator looks much cleaner.
I'm currently working on Astralaria, because I love the look of these weapons that show stars and the sky like Eternity/Twilight/Sunrise, which I have also crafted, but your video makes me want to start working on the Shining Blade. That will have to be a project I will take on in the future.
I'm also waiting to see what the third generation weapons actually look like before I start working on yet another one, since only a few people have managed to craft them right now and info is still scarce since the new expansion just came out.
Imagine that, the unwieldy and ackw gen2 focus get S tier and blatantly 2 tiers above the like of gen 1 axe or exordium. Interesting standard to say the least.

Thanks for putting that list together. So far I'd say that Bolt is my most favorite. Hopefully they make some cool greatswords for gen 3 so I can use it for the new revenant spec.

Great video Vallun. BTW I love your video on the celestial paladin. I've been running that build with some minor tweeks and I absolutely love it. My favorite legendary has to be Verdarach and Eternity. Least favorite has to be that birthday cake Gen 2 torch. Account name is Orryns Angel.5348.
My favorite is the HMS because of the sound. Its so satisfying to shoot that cannon.
Favorite: The Binding of Ipos. It just feels so unique to be wielding a tome of ancient evil as a weapon, and the mystery of the lore behind it intrigues me a lot. I wonder what being made it and what forbidden knowledge is inside that my character knows but sadly I don't.
Least Favorite: The Dreamer. It's fun enough as a legendary, but it's the worst in terms of the lore. Anet did alright explaining it with the new text each legendary got, but the fact is unicorns *don't exist* in this world. Horses haven't even been seen in who knows how many centuries.

Hi Vallun, interesting Tier List with some hot takes, I like to see it.
If I had to pick just one favourite legendary in the game it would be Chuka & Champawat. It was my first legendary and I also love the red aura it gives you and the black spikes that cover your character a bit. Really aggressive looking weapon.
My least favourite is honestly any of the joke legendaries, The Dreamer, Quip, The Moot, Shooshadoo. They would be 100% overskinned until the end of time.

Favorite Dreamer.....Have played thief for 9+ years and fun to troll people with...have had it since 3 months into game when it used to just shoot rainbows....also have chuka and chumba, nevermore, quip, flameseekers prophecies, hms...looking forward to gen 3

Least favourite: I'd say The Dreamer, since I absolutely hate its sound, but I vote for The Moot, completely out of place and immersion breaking.

My top 3 are Astralaria, Pharus and Eternity (in its sunrise phase, the aura is crazy). All three look perfect on my white themed armor for my soulbeast.
Also crafted Verdarach, don't really use it but find it badass.
Sad to see Astralaria in B tier only, but it's subjective.
1:55 Breaking immersion is a power trip for some. Still, there's "DISCO MURDER WHOO!" and then there's "honk honk clown."

Favorite legendary: Binding of Ipos. Even tho I own 12 legendary weapons, I havent crafted the one I like the most because strictly Off Hand weapons have lower priority compared to others.
Least favorite: All of the "Joke Legendaries" (Dreamer, Moot, Quip, Shooshadoo) are not only inmersion breaking but also look too silly to me. Tormentor.2508

I run Dreamer and Bifrost on my Charr Daredevil. Rainbows for everyone! HOPE and Quip make a fun combo, too, especially on a Deadeye where you're just spamming barrage. It's so obnoxious.
My first legendary was twilight and it'll always be my favorite. The dreamer triggers me so much especially in pvp bleeding out and all you hear is neighhhh

Better known as the "My Little Pony Bow". The Skritt Bow. Options>Sound Options> Other Players' Unique Item Sounds =Off. Used 99% of the time just because of The Dreamer.
