I was so not expecting to hear you doing "Homeward" from the Butterfly Ball. I've got that album on cd and that track in my opinion is the most beautiful song that Dio has ever performed. Rock may or may not be dead, but it's certainly on life support. I remember in the 80s, there were at least a few shows every month at the Five Seasons. Come the 90s (I did some work as local crew loading/unloading), shows were every few months. It's dwindled down now to we might get a good shows a couple times a year.
I was thinking.. oh God, no one is going to know this song.. lol.. Thanks for pointing it out. I agree DIO's voice is so cool on that song! He's managed to capture that emotion well. Literally no one could have sung that song other than him and have the same impact. With Rock, yeah, it's just not that many new bands coming up. When newer bands don't take the place of older bands, you can't help but think.. what'll happen in 20+ years? Agree, rock is on life support!
You know, I just remembered if you want something really obscure, look up Kerry Livgren with Dio. Dio sang a couple songs on Kerry's Seeds Of Change album. The tracks are "To Live For The King" and "Mask Of The Great Deceiver".
