Serves me faithfully at 1080p in almost every game at medium to high settings (many ever ultra with all maxed), getting anywhere between 80 through 200+ fps. My goals are to upgrade the cpu and gpu, as well as getting a 144hz monitor. The pc itself so far cost me maybe $600-something, and that is with import costs on the gpu and cpu + replacement psu after my first one burned up due to power oscillations, and high local costs for electronics.

I’m tempted to buy this machine just to take its 3080 right out and put it in my existing 5800X PC if I can find it for $488. Then I can put my 3060 in the Precision tower and still have a sleeper side project gaming PC for a backup but have an even better daily driver gaming PC. Bc I game in 1440p now anyways and the 3060 is crying 🥲

Xeon cpu are awesome for the price . Just picked up a 14 core for 13 $ running a 2060 card with it . Its a 145 tdp 😂 but rarley runs at that wattage . 90 c is hot for that cpu i suspect paste was junk .. If one is on a budget for gaming these machines do the trick been running xeons for the last 3 years and started with a e5 1630 v4 4 core then upgrade to a 1650 v4 6 core to a 2667 v4 8 core just today put a 2696 v3 14 core in it . Cpu are soo cheap its fun to experiment with..
you're basically paying 200 for an office pc platform and 300 for the 3080. you can build it yourself for 50 dollars cheaper. they do this to get rid of the office pc's they cant sell.
Good luck getting one to work in those. Ofter they have fan restrictions that require you to cut and solder your own cables. You can buy OEM cooler upgrades for them though that aren't expensive

These are always slow on booting. Especially if you change something. The card was prob put in a lower slot so you’d get the 1st x16 slot for something else. In my p920 I have a 4 x4 nvme card in there.
It slow booted because they were trying the hdd drive . Sometimes when you change out hardware or change cpu the first couple times they are slow to boot . But after a few times they boot fast specially with a ssd installed and I would assume they didn't engage turbo boot it's off by default in the bios that makes a big difference.
According to bottleneck calculator, it's a perfect pairing for 1440p at 0% bottlenecking and 1080p has a 10% bottleneck. All considered, a better pairing than my 4080 super and 13700F

Imo Dell precisions are hella reliable. I work in IT doing helpdesk and Sys Administration (we have 300+ users and more workstations than users 😂) the dells dont really give that much issues. The most common thing i see is the ones that have HDD they tend to fail or get too slow around the 3 year mark. Once its a SSD ide buy one for that price .

No they rly are not these days the rtx 3070,3080,3090 have not aged well for price and they have massive issues with the vram hitting over 100°c+ I ordered 200x 15x15mm and 20x20mm .3 .5 .8 1mm copper squares for modding used ones to deal with the ridiculous heat issues
Over dramatizing whole situation with HDD. When Win 10 came out it was quite usual to install it on HDD, especially on lower end hardware. Yes, it was a bit sluggish, but not nearly as bad as they make it. Also, e-sports titles run fine from HDD, even some AAA games like CP 2077. Yes, it is slower but is not end of the world.
You comment a lot and I appreciate it! But hard drives in comparison to even a sata ssd is a MASSIVE different in terms of quality of life. So no, we didn’t dramatize it haha

It would have slow boot time, and games will start slower. Investing in SSD would be smart thing to do, especially since they are not expensive these days. However, you could have tried this computer as it is, so potential buyer could see what he gets without upgrades.
