I can help you with this one, Anton. It's easy.
-You start life as a dumb kid with a lack of sensible guidance.
-You make a couple of poorly conceived decisions and take on debt.
-Isolate yourself, believing no one can help you.
-Fail at everything, including acquiring second and third jobs on the side, all the while carrying a monthly nut while also developing poor life habits.
-Never save a dollar, if you get an extra dollar, blow it on foolishness.
-Before you know it, you're in your prime but down low and in a rut.
-As the bills keep coming in, you finally learn how to manage them without making them worse and finally start taking a breath at the end of the day.
-Once you start believing you need a couple hours of leisure at the end of the day, instead of a constant grind, you're basically done.
Hope this clears it up for you.

Im currently back in school at 25, but its a responsible and well thought out risk. I am 1 year in a 2 year program, while working partime (in the field im studying for) its looking like I’ll be in a very good position when I graduate. Im living with my parents while I do so, and i’ve worked harder than I ever have in my life these last 8 months. Sometimes it bothers me that I see my friends and class mates dating, traveling getting married, partying etc. but i just remember my vision, and I just gotta get it. I don’t know if any of them or others my age or broke, and quite frankly i’ve stopped caring. My only concern is to realize my vision. Being single/alone for the last year has basically made me into a new man.

I believe everyone should strive and to do your best to reach your goals even in the face of adversity. The truth of the matter is every single person will not be rich as every person on the planet will not be married. Every single person on the planet is not lazy. I can't say how much time anyone has on their hands. Everybody's goal is not to be rich. Because someone is not striving to be rich doesn't mean they are not accomplished. There are many people who are wealthy and you stripe away the money and superficial possessions people experience the same things. Some people who think that way will give that same old tired response, you must be broke. Which is fine.

Generalities are fine for discussion but not for how you run your life. As if it's cool to be broke because others are broke or those who aren't ain't happy anyway, or people have different ideas of success. You're either broke or not broke and feel guilty about it. Personally I've never wanted to be rich, and I'm not, but I have more then enough and that didn't happen by accident.

Then as a result while getting things back together had seizures that put me in a coma due to the brain trauma over the course of the last two years. This is my life right here except I'm living broke on purpose so that I can continue to stack my funds. I have a good amount saved up and fortunately I still live at home with my father. I don't have a good relationship with either of them because when they divorced both of them immediately got involved in another relationship and took no time to focus on themselves. My father was the worst because he got involved with a section 8 chick from the projects with 2 kids and an incarcerated baby daddy and he automatically went into simp mode. I couldn't stand that family as they tried to persuade me to get involved in the streets and my father did his very best to keep me out of the streets and raised me to be nerdish. That chick eventually left my father and still till this day she don't even bring her kids (they are grown adults now) around us. They were practically my brother and sister and I haven't seen them in over a decade. She played my father and now she's loving a good life with another man making way more money than my father while my father is struggling to live a decent life. If it were not for me he wouldn't be able to survive on his own and he knows that. My mother, on the other hand, kicked me out at 18 and told me I'm too grown to be living with her. Despite all of this I was able to turn this negative into a positive and will keep going forward with my life. My father and I bump heads a lot because he wants me to be content with a warehouse job and I want more out of life than just slinging boxes on a pallet. He's old and miserable now and gave up on life, but I'm still in my 20s and have all of this energy and time ahead of me. I still somewhat show them some level of respect, but deep down I don't really look up to them as role models.

Oh and yes I have to work a warehouse job to support my father and his bills and I have struggled my twenties to save my own funds so I can get out of this survivorship with him. This is easily the most out of touch and objectively ignorant topic you've ever presented. Most people don't live a life where they are able to run around and pursue dreams. Second, you talk about yourself incessantly! This episode seems to be all about you and what you do and why you're so great. Third, it seems that you were exposed early in life to saving and investing; how many young men do you think have the wherewithal and fortitude to utilize your strategy effectively? Fourth, most people aren't built for your life. Most people wouldn't be effective managers much less owners. They aren't built for that life. And you ask why they aren't rich? THAT'S RICH!

It's expensive to be single. You've got the same expenses as couples but no one to share costs with. And no, those expenses don't equate half of a couple's expenses. Single and childless people may have more time to dedicate to paid work, time that a couple would spend together or with their kids. But the extra pay will be taxed and they won't get it back through, for example, the tax benefits allocated to parents, and married/commonlaw couples. Two heads are better than one when you're each other's rock and cheerleader!

I'm single no kids and I'm not rich, why?? Because I haven't figured out what's going to work for me. I don't go where the money is, meaning I don't want to do real estate, I'm not going to college because I don't believe in the job market. But at least I'm good at saving money and not living paycheck to paycheck. There's more but that's enough.

There are many people that I can understand not being able to make it; usually people that have zero family support and terrible/abusive parents not being able to make it, mild disabilities or mental illnesses and severe health problems and lack education/ignorance. Otherwise many people waste money and time being consumers. Not working or saving or building wealth.
You are bit insensitive but mostly because hard work isn’t the only thing that enabled you to build wealth otherwise you should theoretically be wealthier than everyone - in your case it’s hard work + good parents + good/right career pathway + starting investing early + making good life choices + careful with debt + good degree of luck (no severe illness, crashes, disability, good health, sound mind etc). Someone could work insanely hard for their own business which makes no money and their poor financial literacy equates to being poor, I empathise with that situation.
But I agree not enough people place the locus of control internally and hold themselves accountable for their actions to ensure they are doing better each day.

It annoys me to watch adults play video games and to be so hyped up about it that they are willing to be scraping by in order to play. Grown asses shouldn't be playing video games unless they are financially comfortable and even then is it worth losing out on productivity and increasing wealth? For all those lazy folks you will find out in retirement.

It was exhilarating knowing that your intentionally putting seconds into your goal. I then became a teacher because i wanted “stable money” while I pursue my dreams. Worst decision ever. Due to the amount of work they give me I work 7 hours in the building and then like 4-5 hours when I come home. I cant escape this shit.

Single people literally get taxed the most. There’s no financial incentive in being single. If anything they pay the most because it’s expected they have discretionary income
For example you get an apartment you pay the full bill. Car? You pay the full note. If you got a girl she can pay for gas or food.
This question is as ignorant as asking why doesn’t a baby just talk and walk since it has legs and a mouth

    • @iamme7664
