I earned financial freedom at 35. Was living on the streets drug addict 13 years ago. Tim, thank you for sharing more facts. You're 100% on point. You're never too old to learn anything and continue to learn how to be smarter about financials is important. Pay yourself first - put aside a certain amount of money to save each week, biweekly, monthly and be mindful about spending in general. A simple life is a happy life.
Plan your work and work your plan. I remember when I was growing up I thought my dad was rich, turns out he actually made less than mom, he was just better at planning his future. He will likely outlive me.

You definitely don't want to wait until you have money to understand how money works. @TimothyWard I totally understand..we are the same age and I really didn't adopt this mindset until about 3 years ago and when I read the Richest Man in Babylon it put everything into perspective
"... Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O men of little faith?" (Matthew 6:28-30 RSV). Also consider the animals of the forest, how they have enough to eat, sleep, have young, etc. all without the help of man. I'm not saying you should have a job and use money to live and thrive; I'm saying that worrying about something will not solve anything. Just consider that animals are a branch of life below the human and yet they have figured out how to live without money. Are they smarter than you are? Are the more WORTHY than you are of life? Do they improve their own situations with worry? ... Something to think about. Animals have few basic needs, and those needs are fulfilled. What about you?
