Most excellent drumming
Nunca tinha ouvido....mas passou num canal e fiquei hipnotizado com esse som louco demais :amei
And this proves why RONIN is still one of the hottest and music unique music ensembles on earth! BRAVO!
If you like this, you might like Trilok Gurtu and Oregon and others in that same realm.
Oneness100 I saw Oregon in concert and I've interviewed Trilok Gurtu twice. While I dig both of them very much, I don't think they're similar at all to Ronin, musically. Just on the same caliber talent-wise. FYI: Trilok was a member of Oregon for several years.
Robert Kaye Ronin isn't on the same level as Trilok or Oregon, they are far more into improvisation. Yes, I'm very aware that Trilok was a member of Oregon for several years.
Ronin seems more ambiance music, there really isn't much improvisation or excitement with their compositions.
I wasn't implying that they were the same, but Ronin seems to have that Abstract quality that both Trilok and Oregon possess (more so with Trilok's music). There are some similarities with the rhythm and the use of odd time signatures. Trilok's style is far more advanced than what Ronin is doing.
Oneness100 Thanks for the comment i checked them out , great drum sessions from Trilok and very nice jazz from Oregon :)
Liniformans My pleasure. Trilok has a ton of recordings out there and he always comes up with interesting stuff. He's one of the most original and gifted percussionists of our time. If you ever have a chance to see him live, he's always amazing. What freaks me out is when he plays his trap set with one hand and plays his tabla with his other hand and how he can create some intensely complex rhythms is beyond me. Just a true artist, I just wish more kids growing up would get into Trilok's work rather than the computerized sequences that don't have that human element.
Nice atmosphere. I love this. Great music, interplay, groove and sophistication!
Amazing work Nik, I'm speechless.
Im so glad i found your music.
thank you for staying connected and for sharing! 🙏🎶
Haven’t been this excited in finding a new artist in a long while. stunning!
Amazing symbiosis of Ambient jazz, P funk and classical music. Really unique and mesmerizing
Listened to this live in Skopje, amazing!!! The last funk part really exploded the thing! :)
Do you realize how many of his Modules have folk elements from the Balkan countries bulgarians, macedonians, serbians and etc. 😃
just sublime......in my universe this just hits the spot in every way.......beautifully ambient, fantastic polyrhythms and funky as...
100% my style also
Waiting for the next album!!
Great set.

ROOOOOOAAAAAAAARRRRR!!!! MODUL 35!
awesome! Many many thanks
55K hits. I bet half are mine. ;-) This is my shakuhachi replacement. Not quite white noise. But it can hang in the background if you are into something. Tres cool. Love these guys. Much of it is good for driving. Especially if you are tired of bad news on the radio. Dig it.
One of the best concert in my life. Luxembourg with mobile, great beautiful journey
🙏🙌🎶💜
@@nikbaertsch see you soon, you are a master... respect and thank you
i dont know what to class this music as....as in genre....its like some sort of jazz/funk band run by steve reich....2 worlds which i never even thought about colliding until several years ago when i came across Nik's stuff by some happy accident......and i adore it....one of my fave acts ever ( which does make people go "who??" when asked about who my fave bands are )...its a sound of its own.....i love it.
This version of Modul 35 is absolutely fantastic (so wie alles andere auch).
Do you eventually plan to have a proper release of Ronin Rhythm Clan?

Amazing! Especially Modul 35! Will it be available in iTunes?
I had a good music taste 5 years back already :)

soooo hot!!!
cool
Yes ... when is the next album coming out? RONIN is one of THE most unique ensembles in the world.
"Awase" has been out for just a few weeks now.
Please when you play in Italy?
I like Bartsch and Ronin on many levels but one I particularly like is hearing the bass clarinet as a percussion instrument. Interesting. Love the bass player too. Thanks.
Very true! Sha is a bassclarinet beat boxer! 🙌🙏🎶
@@nikbaertsch You are all very special in many ways. It is an honor to have a response from you. I am glad to be able to watch longer perfomances of your groups instead of the short excerpts ECM makes available. Thank you. _/\_

mathematics masters...
What are the time signatures in these?
First piece is generally 29 vs 3 (Modul 33), Second piece is 9 as 5 + 4 resp. 3x3 (Modul 42), third piece is 3x(9 against 5)…😉🙏🎶🔢

Good tecnique, but ugly overall, there is no beauty in this music only the will to surprise and push beyond experimentalism. Constantly launching the listener out of the comfort zone. This is my opinion and it shall not be attacked so please breathe in
It's your opinion, but totally missing the point: "only the will to surprise and push beyond experimentalism". It isn't that at all. It's quite an easy music to listen, very rythmic and not at all centered in experimentalism. I advise you do listen to more experimental jazz music. You will be surprised how far you are from deep experimental music.
I only wish you could hear the beauty that I can hear.
