@@StudioJohm 😂 Its always fantastic when gifted artists explore new territories - I just stumbled across this fantastic electronic masterpiece and I'm blown away!
I think Kerber is his masterpiece, and I love that the album, a mixture between piano and electronics, can be taken on its own or taken as a solo piano album, and now here you have primarily the electronic portion of the album without the piano. The pieces are just so inexhaustibly lovely.
These live versions kinda sound better then album ones. Much more powerful and crisp sound. Like it! It also amazing to hear composition from old albums in the new electronic arrangement. If you know his discography well, you can hear good old Yann melodies in these new style :)
For those unfamiliar to Yann Tiersen and synth ain't your jam. He is a brilliant pianist and violinist, he also slays the accordion among other instruments. I highly recommend checking out his other work before writing him off based on this.
Sounds like you think his new stuff is not good or something. His latest work is beautiful, the sampling and incorporations of synths are incredible and definitely sounds like him. He is not just piano and violin which is good
@@lemartin93 my comment was for the many who scoffed at this, one even saying he should learn how to play an instrument 😂 while I am more partial to his older music with harpsichord and other strings I don't dislike this.
@@Mrs.Self.Distruct should learn how to play an instrument, this is just toooo funny. But I am sure many will be surprised when searching for his earlier stuff. I guess most Amelie fans never saw this coming, right? ;) my fave was his short rock period but it really takes a genius to create in so many musical styles.
I do not envy the person who had to type out these song names (I know copying and pasting is an option, but also, imagine just talking to someone about this album and trying to remember the name of one of these tracks and not knowing the number of the track it was on the album)
Great performance. But they are already so many great modular artists, a shame that none of them is ever invited; Colin Benders, Suzanne Ciani, Caterina Barbieri, Hélène Vogelsinger....
Wenn man immer besser werden will und sich letztendlich verrennt. Das Karma vieler Genies. Hätte er sich nicht seinen Namen schon erarbeitet,... mit diesem würde er nicht entdeckt.

His music has been so incredible for me and lots of people i know…. Today we went to see him with his new show. While we bought the tickets in the pre-Corona Time for his old show. Sorry but this was bad. Really bad. People just started going home. The place was almost empty when i left. Yann, I’m looking for a reason why you did this. This was confusing. Apart from that;. I was raised with Classical music. But always listened to electronic music to. But this was Simply not good. The visual effects gave people in the place headaches and they ran away. … Sad to see this happen with a musician this great.
There was a piece of Zimmer in first track, and a piece of Daft Punk in other... and a singer? I'm disappointed. Really. One of monument in my music soul. And it fall down. Mountain without wind, fire without light, music without soul. So sad.

wow, had no idea yann tiersen made electronic music too. amazing range.
De hecho muchos de sus primeros discos toman elementos electrónicos
I remember visiting him in Portugal, thinking we would get a piano concert. I have never seen more people leave a concert in my entire life.
They lost a good performance!
morons and pretenders. thinking they will get something they call "classic" but disregarding art itself..
@@sweetycamy the same in Tolouse, France :(
In Berlin they stayed lol

Decoded song names (if I got the idea right):
1. Poull.Bojer
2. Mary(feat.Quinquir)
3. Ker.Al.Loch
Wow you’re a genius decoder
4. Chapter.Nineteen
Quinquis non?
Gracias!

watching the fingerwork is such a joy~ I love arpeggiators, and this is just something beyond...

Yann! Oh my goodness thank you for this, I’m still obsessed with Les Retrouvailles. Such beautiful music 🎶
Sampling and sequencing analog synth sounds in real time, on the fly, as a performance.
Very cool! A great performance!
Sampling? real Time? Come on, dude!
Yann Tiersen + octatrack = magic
@@nickangel6596 Live looping is perhaps a better word than sampling. But there's more going on here than what you know about.
this vocal at 18:20 is somehow amazing.. and the whole track, and performance, woooow
The Vocal sounds like Stuart Staples of Tinderticks
That was FANTASTIC. I absolutely love watching him manually play arpeggios with mathematic precision!
almost unbelievable on the tiny Arturia Keystep keys ...
Super performance 👌🏻thanks Yann Tiersen and also KEXP for making this possible 🎶🎵 ... 🙏🏻
Ele é um gênio.....vi ele no Brasil..... maravilhoso !!!

The first track mixed with Poull Bojer is so beautiful.
increilble lo que hace este sujeto !!!
thank you
Nice way to begin my day!!!
Because of the unique song names, I watched this video. I was not disappointed.
Why is this performance getting so much hate? It's just beautiful...
i dont see any hate here.

So cool, I wish his set was twice as long. I can't wait to see him in London in September!

Master of composition.
the last song is simply mindblowing

I much much like his synth electro stuff than his acoustic but he is a great musician in general.
Totally the other way around for me. This synth is not really my jam
him holding that arpeggio at tempo at 13 minutes BLEW MY MIND
