- Use DXVK on Windows with our quick and easy video guide. DXVK is a Vulkan-based translation layer for Direct 3D 9, 10 and 11. Using DXVK, we can use the Vulkan API with most DX9, 10 and 11 games, not only in Linux, but in Windows too!
In most cases, using DXVK will raise FPS, and reduce stutter.
Warning: Not recommend for online / competitive gaming, as it is essentially modding your game for better performance which could cause anti-cheat issues

Help, when I extract the file I dont have the x64 or x32 in it (nevermind I figured it out, I had to extract it multiple times for some reason)
Thoughts on VKD3D? I wanted to fix my stuttering issues in Dead Space Remake with it after seeing someone use DXVK on it but DXVK is for DX11 and disables all the typically DX12 features like RTX u can use in that game. I have above reccomened PC specs in that game it just has bad traversal stuttering issues on all hardware.
You could improve the fps by using dual channel RAM instead of single one, so iGPU gets more faster bandwidth. Also these results are kinda surprising from Intel Windows Vulkan drivers because these are mostly broken compared to Linux anv driver which work flawlessly, but maybe with less performance.
The N100 doesn't allow for dual channel, besides this is just a little video showing the difference DXVK makes on a budget minipc.
It's at version 2.3 currently, so I'm sure things will continue to improve. A nice project to keep on the radar 🙂
I wonder if DXVK could be implemented into UWP format.
Can you try fable 3 for me please? It just wont start at all and there are people who got it working just fine.
Very useful little added bonus to have for some content.
There's an asynchronous version too. Better gains, but don't use it for online games (may get seen as a cheat)
For some reason I cannot for the life of me get this to work with Borderlands 3. It always reverts back to dx11 in my AB OSD. It never shows up as vulcan. Any help?
Notebook amd a4-5000 radeon hd graphics 1.50ghz, 4gb ram, windows 10 pro, is posible dxvk?
how to make it works for league of legends? when I enter the game it just crash with d3d9.dll message
Thanks.
You're welcome
i've tried this method but when i launched the game it says no graphic driver installed, why this happened?
I have a question. I have DirectX12, but I want to play Oblivion which runs on DirectX9. I’m still able to play Oblivion on DirectX12. Do I need the dxvk files for DX9 or 12? Also, if 12, is there a dxvk option for DX12?
So DXVK converts DirectX to Vulkan.
If Oblivion runs on DX9, you need to use DX9 version. If you have a game that runs on DX12, you need to use the other files. That's about it, really.
@@TeamPandory thanks for the reaction. I figured as much, so I tried it out that way. Thing is, it really isn’t making a noticeable difference. Should it? I’ve also heard a few things about dxvk async, is that worth trying?
Does this api work on gta 5 and has fps gain?
My gta 5 is stuttering like hell with my intel hd 520.
So you try it and work?
anybody know a fix for the game lanching in vulkan but the game runs at ~4 fps? i have the latest amd drivers (24.1.1, this also happened with the 23.12.1 drivers) and have dxvk 2.3. this happens for all the games i've tried, i've put the right files in the right locations
How many FPS were you getting before? What system are you using, and which game are you trying to run?
I tried DXVK on Far cry 3 and payday 2, before i was getting way above 60fps, my system is pretty good. I have a 7800xt and a 5800x with 32gb of ram and both games are on an ssd.
@@Andyv22 Apparently dxvk is better with Nvidia, but in your case I think it may be vulkan needing to create a render cache. Keep playing and once the cache is ready it should speed up, but if you're already getting above 60fps, maybe dvxk isn't worth bothering with.
yeah, i just wanted to see if i could get more fps lmao, but i have waited in far cry 3 for like 20 minutes and it still was at ~4 fps. the cpu utilization was at 100% all of that time i believe.
Dxvk 64 bit work gta iv please reply
was using dxvk 2.3 on Ghost recon wildlands and it worked wonders no stutters smooth as butter, got around 30 hours in then out of nowhere game wont even start. took the dxvk files out of game dir(including the extra files dxvk creates eg; shaders and logs), game starts just fine no problems, put dxvk files back in game dir, game wont start, man what gives? havent installed any windows updates or graphics drivers in the time i was play wildlands, nothing has changed on my rig. checked windows defender just incase it deleted files but nothing. it makes no sense. computers give me a head ache man.
Never played this game, but I'm guessing you could try backing up the save game and reinstalling.
@@TeamPandory yes. Doing that as we speak. 👍 Fingers crossed 🤞 thank you, will report back.
@@TeamPandory reinstall didn't work at all. its so weird. i dont understand how this could happen. i dont know what else to try to be honest.
@@gummy_fresh1968 try all stock .. no dxvk. Then start adding bits perhaps?
Reinstall directx?
The fastest version of GTA 4 is "1040".
it`s a fake - if u use dxvk u will have major stutters and on video is all ok cause it`s fake
really?
@@zaxren7664 yup
100%
U can try urself
That's because vulkan needs to compile it's shaders whilst you're playing, after playing for a bit the stutters should calm down, which then allows for a proper comparision. Or the effects may just be noticable after the stuttering calms down. @@slipnotololo4586
not fake lmao. It works like butter on assasins creed game
LOL, it's not fake..., stutters will be gone after a moment in old PC, Vulkan and even Directx do that, but after shaders compilation done, it will be smooth :)
