The level of decorum and respect shown in this absolutely tense match is what all Magic players should strive to emulate. Kudos to both of these gentleman for a hard-fought and exhilarating display of what makes Magic so goddamn awesome.
2014...? damn, time flies.
Oh man…
That was so insane. Ross, the deadliest man in all of Magic, strikes once again
Most poisons man in magic
^Exactly

That wasteland topdeck was so hype.
Best match of Top 8!
Cedric sent me in his interview on ‘Drive to Work’ with Rosewater.
Same here
Lam Phan should've used Wasteland in his precombat Mainphase at ~45:20 to play around hard cast Force of Will. Go to Combat, animate Factory and swing; any tricks on a blocking hierarch wouldve been 2-for-1 by Snapcaster + Sudden shock; a dazed Snapcaster might have killed the Factory via pumped Hierarch, but he would've had a Snapcaster in play and it would've still been favorable card-adavantage wise
wow, Tom 'Top Decker' Ross
What an amazing match!
DAMN this is worthwhile watching! :)
I'm obviously missing something here. Does Lam Phan's deck do more than 2 damage a turn when he happens to get a Mishra's Factory?
Disclaimer here: I know very little to nothing about Legacy.
Mishra's Factory has (1) Mishra's Factory becomes a 2/2 Assembly-Worker artifact creature until end of turn. It's still a land. And (T) Assembly-Worker creature gets +1/+1 until end of turn. Therefore you use one Factory to pump the other to get 3 damage (or more) a turn.
The deck is really durdly. He just tries to stall the game with a standstill and win with the factories. Different for sure but does not win quickly. Although multiple factories can do some work
Thanks for the explanation guys.
Cheers!
Game 2: 18:00
Game 3: 28:43
Enjoy!
crazy!
Pham mightve drawn land if he knew how to shuffle his deck properly
Anywhere I can watch rounds 1 through X of this thing? I can't seem to find them on the MTG youtube page...
this was recorded by SCG (StarCity Games) look them up on Twitch
Rjihn Vasparia Didn't realise SCG Had done it, thought it was just WOTC, thanks.
those poor wastelands and forces :(
Its how he expresses himself. I think they look cool tbh
@@ajax4709 Yeah, but it’s on a $130 card. That’s gonna bother people, it just feels wrong.
Is Tom Ross using KMC Hyper Matte Green?
DarkZombie yes
i like lam phans alters for the most part but the engineered explosives one made me cringe. why would you black out the five suns in the art?????? they would have looked awesome with black all around them.
I was checking out the art from a distance, first I thought it really cool; then I come up close and see again "oh well I can do this with a marker" Anyway, his money his deck, who am I to argue.
so im confused, if I get an entire deck with alters, is that perfectly legal to play? like just extended art cards?
Depends. Best practice is to bring your alters to the head judge, as some can be deemed unfit for play.
that's what I have been told, but ive seen more than one deck in this tournament fully proxied. seems a little unfair, I don't actually have to buy any expensive legacy cards and can just use proxy's
meunit2 They are altered, not proxies. As in they took the actual card and had it altered by an artist. So they did actually have to buy the cards. When done right I think they look awesome.
yeah for sure me too, ok cool thanks for clarifying
Tom with the wastes
God I hope Matthias Hunt no longer does coverage for SCG or any other MtG affiliated type brand, company or organization. Such a boring, bland personality.
My god those are some ugly cards.
