I felt at the time, and still do, that this event was one of the worst failures of the system of checks and balances that are supposed to be in place. Sorry, but Pres. Trump has NOT overstepped his bounds. He did not force federal intervention and ANY state. He rightly told the governors to control their states. That is their job. The federal government only steps in when invited or when governors neglect to do their duty. I don't know why people like Colin Powell and Mattis have taken the stand they have. How dare Powell praise military leaders that plan to mutiny if Pres. Trump called for military intervention. Keep in mind that Trump has NOT ordered unwanted military action.
