  • Why is my pool water so hot? How can I cool it down?
Your pool water will likely get too warm in the summer if it's 6 feet deep or shallower and if it receives a lot of sunlight. One way to keep the pool at a good temperature is to use a chiller. A heat pump with a chiller function allows you to keep your water refreshing even in midsummer heat.

You could have made a 10 second video saying "Buy a chiller for 6000 dollars"

Wish I'd seen this comment before wasting my time. I was hoping he would go into different options. I was about to comment "video starts at X:XX" but then the video never started.
At least I know to avoid this channel in the future.

Exactly, the actual content to words ratio is nuts. 60% into the video he is still explaining the problem that was in the title “pool water too hot”.

I just added a tarp and it fell from 91 degrees to 82. Nice when it is 98 out.

Chillers are a good solution, but I worry about the electricity need (costs). Just how expensive are they to run? Should they only at night to improve efficiency and use less power? What is the average month cost of owning a chiller?

6-7k for a pool chiller seems high. I have a Pentair heat pump and adding the chill feature only cost 1k more.

For real, I just recently bought a Coleman 10'×16'×48" above ground pool and I'm having this problem with the water being too hot. I've decided to build a fountain to see if it cools it and also bought a tarp to cover it,hopefully it doesn't just help for the dirt and debris cuz of monsoon season but I'm hoping it will help cool it too!

It would have been better to spend more time and explain what a chiller is, how to install it, where to buy it and how to use it. Also could compare to an aerator. Your two minute idea is form over function.
