Does it matter how much charcoal you put in the hopper? Meaning, if you load quite a bit can that last you for awhile or do you want to only load what you plan on using for that particular smoke?
Can somebody please help me. Mine doesn't work, first time I've tried to use it. I follow these directions, but the fan never comes on. I just get cool smoke rolling in the grill and it doesn't heat up, I've double, triple, quadruple checked the connectors, nothing happens.
You have to make sure all the lips and doors are closed for the fans to turn on I've owned mine for 1 year today was the first day since last summer i used it and had the same issue and then i closed the lid and fan started working
My charcoal grate doesn’t really jiggle like that. I can tap it and get some of the ash to fall but not as much as you did. Did I assemble something wrong there?
I have a professional gravity smoker, it's always best to empty the gravity chute completely of charcoal and start over. Charcoal that has impurities will form clumps and will not break up small enough to shake through those grates. Thus restricting air flow and preventing fresh charcoal from gravitating down.
thomas jackson interesting. I haven’t had that issue yet with this thing (eventually I was able to jiggle that grate more). I’d love to unload it every time but it’s a little difficult cuz as soon as you start sliding that grate out, it gets caught on all the pieces of charcoal coming through. And then you need somewhere to catch all that charcoal.
Joe Smith I’ve had mine for a couple months now and have done a lot of research on the issue you’re referring to. Though I hadn’t heard about the insulation inside being soft, Masterbuilt did say that it’s supposed to harden over time. This video doesn’t prove much, as he didn’t show where he pulled that insulation from, and if he let those metal plates in front of it burn through, exposing that insulation to the heat required to harden it.
As I put the charcoal in the briquettes fall through the grate into the ash bucket. Do I just keep pouring until they catch and then put the briquettes from the ash pan back into the hooper?
A lot of people add stainless steel skewers. They buy them cut them down to size and then kind of weave them inside the grate to make smaller openings.
I found that the safety switch in the lower hampers wasn't ingageing all the way to kick the fan on. I had to put a small pebble between it and the ash pit door.
Yeah but at what point do you add the wood chunks in? Do you want them on top of the coals at the very top of the chamber or towards the bottom of the chamber closer to the fire, seems either way the smoke will be inconsistent

This was the best advice I had given and made it possible for me to get my barbecue lit for the first time thank you random dude
Quick and easy and straight to the point I really appreciate it thank you!
Any suggestions or recommendation on cleaning and maintenance? Thank you for your time.
Hey there Master Built team. Are you able to use wood for smoking for this model?
Is this grill good for quickly grilling small amounts of meat? like if I want to throw a couple of steaks for dinner?
Yes goes up to 750° perfect for a sear on a steak
Thank you Man!! The first one that actually was helpful.
Can you use the grill without the slides?
Are you guys coming out with any updated grills next year?
Does the fan blow ash all over the meat? I am really thinking about getting one of these.
No. It's clean. Honestly this grill is amazing.
No the grill is so dope
Negative found one at dirt cheap 800 for 399 and dod the firebox mod
How do I use the air vent blockers after it’s lit. Can you do a video on top vs bottom air intake regulator for the 800 series.
I just got one of these. Most smokers in the past had a water tray. Does this one not require one?
When do you put he two pieces back in that you hung on the end of the grill?
Do the slides remain off all the time during cooking???
Yes. The slides are used to cut off the oxygen flow and extinguish the flame.

I just purchased this smoker and was wondering the same thing. Hopefully we'll see an answer soon.
You can load up to 10 lbs
So we don’t need to add lighter fluid?
whats this like if you want to do a quicker BBQ?, some of the family are abit impatient. 😜

I'm getting a error when I try use the probe?
nice crib....
Thanks!
*What did you have in there ? Lump or briquettes?*
You can use lump or briquette charcoal in our Gravity Series line!
Have used it for several seasons
Where do you 👀 get the ignite thing from?

thomas jackson sounds like that’s very dependent on the charcoal you’re using. Good quality lump shouldn’t have an issue burning completely to ash.
Where is the wood?
Sounds dumb but lighter fluid for the charcoal?
Good stuff.
Thank you!!! Extremely helpful. Do you use flavored fire starters? Or is there a such thing?
Not a thing

That's what I do

Does this use lump charcoal or briqueettes?
Can use either. Lumps worked better for consistency for me
What if the fan dies? Is it easy to replace? Costly?
J G looks like a 12v fan. Typical dimensions are 120mm x120mm (5” x 5”). Shouldn’t be too hard to find one to replace.
My power bottom doesn’t work
I’m trying to do my initial season and the fan isn’t coming on. All of the doors are closed. Any advice?
Same
Happening to me too (worked for the burn in) now won't come on at all -- tried calling but they closed their "care center"
Having the same issue now. Any of y’all get it resolved?
Fan won’t turn on. If you guys find any solution please lmk. Thanks

You mix it though out the hopper like a couple of pieces while you fill it up
The manual has a couple options you can look at.
Uhhhhh, how does one add wood for smoking?
Hi David! You can add wood chunks to the ash bin for additional smoke flavor!
Put your wood in the ash Ben. Shake the grid to drop hot coals on your wood chuncks. If your using chips soak them in water.
The fan never came on any reason why I used math light is that maybe why
