    Looks amazing! This does grow wild in Essequibo but so special we can grow it here in Canada. I like it with the fine shrimp 🍤 very delicious 🤤

    Deeeeelicious. The last time I had eddoe leaf bhajie was 1979 when I went to Guyana. Would love to have some with roti. Great recipe from your Mom. My Mom used to prepare hers the same way shredding out the leafy part from the veins. As always enjoy for the whole family. Now we do not have any umbrella cus you just cooked it. LOL. GN.

      @@Sharmins_Kitchen I always see the eddoe leaves at the West Indian store but never bought it cus someone told me that you can not be sure if it's mixed with the wild eddoe leaves and that could scratch your throat. I'll get daring one day and try it.

    I had this today with dhal and rice also some lime achar🥰. We also peeled the stem and chop it up with the leaves. It doesn't scratch if you slow cooked it. ❤

    You wasted that fresh eddoes leaf on the big hard stem on the leaf u peel it there is a thin layer like plastic on it and u chop the whole thing up very delicious that's how we do it in Essequibo coast look good my mouth was watering didn't had it for a long time

    Thanks for sharing but you confused me I saw the Eddoes leaves and then you say it dasheen leaves...I know it's to be 2 different things...I never ate Eddoes leaves cause I didn't know how to prepare it heard you also have to wash it with lime ...

      We called it eddo leaf in Guyana but when I see it here in the store they call it Dasheen bush. The one that I cooked is eddo leaf, you can follow my recipe and try it. This Bhagi is so delicious, rich in iron and nutritious ✌️❤️🇬🇾🇨🇦

      Hi Sharmin, we cook the dasheen leaves and dasheen, we also cook the eddoes, never had the leaves, we don't get it to buy, heard it scratches the mouth... yours looked nice though, must try... thanks, safe and blessed day...

    That is one delicious meal that anyone can die for.
    The ones in New York is Dasheen bush not eddo leaf. It taste different.

      The strength of the bagie is the stem and veins that you throw away. We used to throw away it and never used to cook it back home.I learnt to cook it from our Trinidadian brothers and sisters. The cut every pieces up. Next time you go to the Trinidadian Roti Shop/Restaurant you can buy a serving and try it. It's richer. You don't have to steam it either because you are throwing away the good value of it.
