If Bright gave Hathaway half as much attention as he did his soldiers and the Gundam pilot, Hathaway wouldn’t turn out this way. Because Hathaway is his son, and not his soldier, and he doesn’t want Hathaway to be involved. Bright ends up neglecting his son instead.
This is a good recap but you guys shouldv'e given a brief explanation of newtypes and you shouldve excluded the part where they reveal that Mafty is Hathaway Noa, since that is something that is revealed in the actual movie and is a reveal that makes the movie more interesting. This is coming from someone who went in blind and didnt know anything about the movie except that it is a continuation of Char's Counterattack
I’m a bit confused. In the novel version of what became “Char’s counterattack”, didn’t Hathaway accidentally kill Quess? It seems HF is going off that series of events, which makes way more sense in some scenes, but at the same time would confuse those who haven’t read/seen the novels.
This is based on the Movie-Version. Sunrise didnt agree to some Decisions the producer wanted to make in the movie (story-wise). So they made the movie and right after that the changed novel version.
This is NOT based on the movie version. And if it is, then Hathaway has zero regrets about killing Chan because it is never brought up. He is said to have 1 kill in the battle, and its implied to be Quess.
@@thundervolt9764 it’s implied he takes down “one enemy mobile suit” and it would be the one he kills immediately after existing the ra caulim if I’m not mistaken? The Laplace`s box only had the power to change the balance between the earthnoids and spacenoids. It never had the power to save both. Siam Bist just threw the whole game, believing in both sides, which meant quite nothing... probably for now.
Unicorn is essentially another side story series in the UC Gundam universe. The impact it left just further showed how corrupt the Earth Federation was in trying to suppress spacenoids, but for that instance, it was publicly broadcasted for all to see whereas the Federation usually tries to control information to make themselves look in the right.
The only real detail wrong is that hathaway flash follows the beltorchika children version of char counter attack where chan wasn't there at all and hathaway actually killed quess and is haunted by the ghost of her. But I get that's a very niche detail to know

Because this is the sequel of the movie version of CCA. You should not care about the story of novel version and the differences between them.
I think we would have seen a direct flashback to him accidentally killing quess if it were the case as they heavy handedly threw in his memories of quess
@@thundervolt9764 HF is 100% based off of the movie version of Char's Counterattack. The enemy unit that Hathaway took out mentioned in HF is the Geara Doga that he took out using his Jegan's vulcans. Another thing, in the book version, the Nu Gundam has a different design and is named Hi-Nu Gundam. In HF, there's a flashback clearly showing Nu Gundam, not Hi-Nu, pushing back Axis.
I needed this video. I’m almost done with ZZ to then finally watch char’s counter atk. I already say Gundam Hathaway but I didn’t really have much context.
I’m thinking after I finish ZZ, I’ll watch Origins to the original to the OVA’s, Zeta movie (skipping the ending lol), and the Char’s Counterattack.
Watching this after finishing the movie, without having watched any Gundam prior to Hathaway’s Flash. Wow Hathaway killed his own crew member? That’s intense
In the novel version, he killed quess instead
Why watch Hathaway without watching 079, Z, ZZ, Chars counterattack, and Unicorn
@@epyonmetal7208 because of the animation style
Its funny that super advancec mobile battle suit has manual instruction book right in the cockpit.
Good video to inform yourself
Also it makes sense since when you look up gundam Hathaway, there’s gundam 1,2, and 3 right next to it
genialidad, sigan subiendo estas cosas.
This is well done video
I can't believe how gundam hathaway didn't become a phenomenon. To be fair its very short and ends right when things begin. So i guess it turned many people off with such a major cliffhanger
Nice!
Great video
What is the song playing at 0:58 ??? Can someone please tell me, I would really appreciate it! 🙏🙏🙏

nice!
Honestly, I was happy when quest died, you can’t say that I’m wrong for that 😤
You're not wrong, but Netflix is wrong for not including Zeta, ZZ, plus side story ovas.
@@yangwen-li4283 they should add gundam wing or 8th ms team
Wow! Great way to skip over Bright Noa’s greatest contribution-Amuro Slap!
Pretty good on Netflix to release this👍🏻 can't wait to see how the live action comes out. I can't even believe they got the rights to do a live action Gundam film 🤯🙌🏼🔥
They better do it right and not some bs. I pray its cannon and true to the uc timeline and not some bs 00 gundam crap.
The new one was really good 😊
In fact, many countries are competing to race to the moon and are also competing to make AI
it's only a matter of time whether the world of war uses AI or bioweapons
including gundams in the real world will happen if they manage to make flying shoes
Good thing I watched this right before I watched Hathaway's Flash new movie.
I'm surprised Netflix covered this
RIP Chan
on other note: so the revealing of Laplace's box doesn't really made an impact at all 🤔
If not, it only went worse from that
Gundam Unicorn was not written by Tomino and didn't really fit well into the lore.
Char's Counterattack is masterpiece.
4:22 newtype seal of approval.
The only real detail wrong is that hathaway flash follows the beltorchika children version of char counter attack where chan wasn't there at all and hathaway actually killed quess and is haunted by the ghost of her. But I get that's a very niche detail to know
he wouldnt become mafty if Chan killed Quess .. its his deep regret for killing Quess that made him become Mafty , so its not a niche detail.
@@Q8tiScorpion also him not killing Chan makes him more sympathetic (or rather, not completely detestable), if I were Amuro I would have killed Hathaway right there I don't care who his father is.
The whole time I was watching the movie, I was confused as hell lol
Felix sticking with the one edible Scandinavian dish for 20 mins straightening
Just give us a full remake of the Universal Timeline already. I watched the movies when I was younger, I like UC unicorn, I liked Hathaway, but god I couldn't even rewatch the movies because they are so outdated.
