There is no friendly fire like when you're ON the objective, defending it. You're about to call an artillery strike to deny some area, but you get downed and thus drop the red signaling beacon.
Counter point: that’s our theme. In helldivers 1 we were the underdogs, a vastly outnumbered and outgunned species winning battles only through superior tactics and discipline. In the first galactic war we were fighting for survival, now we’refighting for conquest. The song change reflects that. We went from a desperate last stand against a merciless race operating a vastly superior war machine to being a race made of vastly superior war machines.
@@NoNo-xh7ru I actually agree. I left a comment on that video saying something to the effect of that being their helldiver combat theme and we're just listening to it
@@NoNo-xh7ru It's pretty much with each theme. Every theme in Helldivers 1 sounded like the fate of Super Earth depended massively on your success while in Helldivers 2 the factions get more personalised themes (Terminids, being aggressive, relentless and chaotic. Automatons being Oppressive, cold and heartless. And Illuminates being more mysterious, unpredictable and "alien")
Look at the layout of the galactic map in Helldivers 2, both the bugs and bots are positioned slightly diagonally, leaving room for a whole new faction ( possibly illuminate based ) at the southern edge of the map.

had it on the vita as well! Kinda funny though because it took the vita a WHILE to load the game so whenever I'd host a game people would immediately throw shade like "ooook who's the vita player??" Still though, good times. Playing it on steam now still an amazing game, holds up incredibly well.

Bro what if their "mind control" is them just "showing" them the truth of Super Earth and it's atrocities in an instant in their head and as opposed to them truly being controlled, they just switch sides? I mean I guess that's technically brainwashing but like with the truth? Lol
@@engasal Well, apparently Meridia ambience is a slowed-down, pitched-down version of one of the Illuminate themes. I don't know whether it's this one or not...
i hated fighting squids the most because of the off-screen snipers, the walls that trap you and the reverse controls, but they had one of the best soundtracks in the game.
I remember when I was playing with another dude on inner circle of hell and we had to defend a launchpad but he droped an orbital laser and I droped a shredder missil, goodbye super earth😥
I remember this time i was playing with 4 randoms one with a flamethrower, he got mind controlled and just incinerated the entire squad.
*PTSD INTENSIFIES*

part of the game's greatness is friendly fire stories like this.
That sounds hella familiar LMAO

Just waiting for the illuminates to show their ugly face in HD2 so I can show them some democracy
They better slap a third badguy faction in it, though. There are so many planets that see no combat. It's confined to like six systems at the moment
