keep an eye on the artificial sweeteners in 0 cal drinks if you are diabetic/pre-diabetic. they are often higher glycemic index than table sugar. maltodextrin for example is between 95-136, and table sugar is 65.
Counting calories is useless. Starving is possible, but it can cause malnutrition, one part of obesity problem (not so good working hormones for example). Short time malnutrition is no problem, body makes reserves, long time can be.
@@m33265I don't think it's useless. It has personally allowed me to lose 5 pounds already, though I understand it can be a trigger to those who obsess over their calorie intake to the point of starvation
Artificial sweeteners can still lead to weight gain due to their effect on insulin. Insulin is a hormone that promotes fat storage in the body. When you consume artificial sweeteners, such as those in Diet Coke, they taste sweet and trick your brain into thinking sugar is coming. This signals the pancreas to produce more insulin. As a result, even though these sweeteners have zero calories, they can still cause weight gain by increasing insulin levels and promoting fat storage. Therefore, it’s advisable to avoid foods and drinks with artificial sweeteners if you’re concerned about weight gain.
This is total nonsense. Artificial sweeteners have ZERO impact on insulin levels. There are actual studies on this, but we know this because of common sense. Artificial sweeteners have no sugar content, so if they increased your insulin, your blood sugar would drop precipitously upon consuming a diet soda and you could actually cause hypoglycemia.THAT DOESN'T HAPPEN and has literally never been observed in a single human. Quit repeating nonsense from fitness influencers.
sadly there’s a druggy on our street so i’m not allowed to walk outside, and my family is all really skinny so no one rlly gets what i go through so they just stuff a ton of crappy food in my face. 😐
I eat once every 24-48 hrs no processed junk no sweet drinks and I have no temptations on snacking during my FASTING protein veggies and berries when it's meal time down 40lbs in 3 months but everyone us different so Goodluck to all
Try the 12 3 30 workout. Did wonders for me. 12 degree incline 3 miles per hour 30 minutes Don't rush your body in getting used to it, take your time. If you need to hold onto the handrail to be comfortable, do it.
It depends on your lifestyle. An office worker? 30 minutes of walking in a day probably isn't going to be enough. An industrial maintenance mechanic like myself who does 20k steps without trying? Yeah, an extra 30 minutes of just walking on purpose is probably going to help me lose a little extra as opposed to maintaining where I'm at. I'd say aim for 10-12k steps a day every day. If you go from 3-4k to 10-12k without increasing your calorie intake, you'll definitely lose weight over time.
Are we sure about the slow metabolism? I'm hearing conflicting arguments on that topic and personally i like to cut very low to see fast changes and after a month or so, get the intake a little higer.
the metabolism slowing down is a real thing, but it doesnt mean your body will automatically slow down, instead your body will make sure that when you are in a subconscious state, you move less, you fickle less and move muscle as less as possible, thats about it, and even after that, its not like your metabolism will go down to zero, it will just cut down 100-300kcal from you adr depending on your weight. Also there is no such thing as starvation mode its bs, one more important thing, if you cut down too low and start losing numbers very fast, your body will have stretch marks, thats about it.
The less you eat, the lower your metabolism, your body adjusts your metabolic processes in order to conserve energy the less you consume. People take this too far, though and say "if you eat too little you won't lose weight" which is nonsense, the biggest problem with eating too little is that your energy levels will be in the toilet and you'll have a hard time sticking to the diet.
i started my diet about a month ago. i lost my first five pounds immediately in the first week. however, in the three weeks after that, ive completely stopped losing weight. is this normal?
the first few pounds that your body cuts is always the bloating water weight, track your calories more properly as we always undermine the intake, and move around more, try downloading a step tracker and see how much you move around in a day, and try to create a realistic goal which you can stick to, apart from that try to check your weight only once a week on an empty stomach in the morning.
WHAT IS THE AMOUNT OF CALORIES A NORMAL PERSON SHOULD BE HAVING A DAY? HOW MUCH LESS, or HOW MANY calories should A PERSON TRYING TO DIET BE INTAKING per day?
Find a macro calculator online and it’ll tell you the amount of Calories you should be having per day as well as how much protein, fats, and carbs you should be having
The numbers are different for every individual and remember that if you’re trying to loose weight, you want to be in a 200-300 calorie deficit daily based off of your daily allotted calories based off what the macro calculator tells you (which is the number of calories a day you need to meet your body’s basic needs)
Last 3 weeks I've been on walks for 2 hours per day, eating below calorie needs, no sugar and only 1 meal a day. I haven't lost anything at all. Am I simply cursed? I'm out of ideas at this point.
@@SomeGuyOnTheInternet12 Yes I have counted calories. I only ate lunch and that was only (one example) sausages with carrots. Total below 800 kcal. And as I said, I have tracked my weight daily for 3 weeks.
dont eat high sodium food in dinner and wake up in the morning, dont drink water dont eat anything, poop and check your weight again with an empty stomach, it happened with me too once, as i fasted for 3days and ate one day which was high carb and higher sodium content which stores a lot of water temporarily in your body, causing the scale to show higher value.
You’re body is on starvation mode so it’s trying to hang on to your fat I really recommend you eat throughout the day. Cut out the carbs, eat protein and veggies . Also use the treadmill on an incline for 30 mins and hit the stair master for 30 mins .
Disagree about number 1. Walking by itself does not "boost metabolism." Lifting weights and building muscle does. Now, cardio is perfectly fine, but you shouldn't doing it to try to burn extra calories; for that purpose it's EXTREMELY inefficient. Train hard lifting weights, build some muscle, and keep your diet on point, and you can lose plenty of body fat without spending a minute on a treadmill.
Why not both? Cardio is actually pretty good at burning calories efficently once you get good at it. I go for a 10km run in the morning every week day which burns about 750 calories. I don't do it every day because I like to take my weekends off but if you did that's an extra 5250 calories a week burnt from running, which equates to 1.5 pounds of weight you can theoretically be burning off a week if you eat at your normal maintenance. You probably don't want to be losing weight to that extreme but that then gives you extra calories where if you wanted to have a cheat meal for dinner on the weekend you can and still be in a deficit.
Also even if you toned that down to like 5km a day which is a lot more manageable for the average person that's still 0.75 pounds of weight you can lose as a bonus to your current deficit.
@@trallakid But that "bonus" comes at a cost: time and effort spent doing cardio. I'm not saying you should never do cardio, but it's not efficient at maintaining a caloric deficit. You don't need "bonus" calories paid for with time and effort to lose weight, you just need to watch you intake. And using cardio to free up calories so that you can consume them later is a bad idea. You can't outrun a bad diet. And it's such a tremendous waste of time: it would take most people 30 minutes to run 5km, yet you could consume the calories burned in a fraction of the time. I've been on a cut for the past 8 weeks. Weight lost: 13 lbs. Time spent doing cardio: ZERO.
@@CHamlin86 You said before to spend time going to the gym which for most people is also going to take half an hour to an hour out of their day as well (probably longer as you actually have to go to a gym if you don't have home equipment, you can run directly from outside your house). Also I never said to 'out-run a bad diet' I just said you have an inheritely higher caloric expenditure if you run every single day, same as going to the gym so you do want to be slightly mindful of that when deciding your daily calorie amount. Basically it just seems like you hate cardio, which is perfectly fine as a preference just that isn't everyones opinion and some people prefer that to going to the gym as can both be used as tools to lose weight.
@@trallakid Then this all goes right back to my original comment: cardio doesn't boost your metabolism, and it's extremely inefficient for maintaining a caloric deficit.
Add treadmill with incline intervals . I walk alot but it’s not enough to lose fat . If you depend on walking alone you need to cut more calories from food rather I would say add a proper cardio ( treadmill preferred ) 20-30 mins to burn fat
It probably depends a lot where you walk where I live is extremely hilly, It would make those incline a treadmill is a joke. Walking is all the right exercise. I wouldn't say it's the best for burning, if some people just want to burn calories. Personally, I love walking not just because of exercise. It's low impact, It's better for the mind. Especially if you walk in the magic hours of dawn and dust. It makes you really grateful or at least it makes me really grateful to be alive, to see just beauty.
Do 20,000 steps a day every day and tell me you're not losing weight if you're not eating like an absolute idiot, I dare you. When I was weight training and intentionally getting bigger, I started a new job that had me doing 20k+ every day. My max weights went down and I was losing weight rapidly. I literally couldn't eat enough without doing so intentionally. Drinking full sugar drinks/sodas and eating pork instead of chicken was what I had to do to stop losing weight and get back to gaining strength.
