Enjoyed watching the process. It looks like foamboard is the way to go. I've heard that foam board ruins the dies. But it doesn't look like it to me. Adorable cup. Thanks for tutorial.

Thank you so much for this tutorial and the foam tip!!! And you may know this already, but just in case. The quickstick on the other end that tip should come out and probably has two different tips that you can use to hold down the little pieces.

Thanks so much for the tutorial! I realize now that I was using a different sandwich when I tried the foam board. I use the sizzix chrome plate, but will have to change that with the foam board.

Love this project! It's adorable! I am thinking of making some with the grandkids. I need to get on the ball to get supplies. Thank you for showing the foam board. I wouldn't have thought it would go through the machine with the same sandwich! Very cool technique!
I'd recommend wiping the acetate with glass cleaner to get rid of the static

This has been the best tutorial on making a shaker I have ever seen! Thank you for showing which die goes to the acetate and which goes to the foam board. That has always confused me. I have that little gingerbread cup die so now I have a reference on how to make it a shaker. Yours came out so incredibly sweet. ❤

OMG, OMG, OMG! So cute Jen! I'm going to start using foam board. So much easier AND more cost efficient too. I have every color of alcohol markers known to man so I'm going to see if it's possible to color around the edges of the foam board shape. That will camouflage it a little I think. Thank you for sharing this with us!

Awesome tutorial! I happen to have foam board on hand so I may use it on my next project. I forget to use it as I am used to reaching for my regular foam. This is a great alternative when we run out of the other,more expensive foam 😆. Definitely more cost effective! TFS, Hugs!💗

I made my first shaker card..
I didn't use any of those materials... I bought "Girl Power" from $ Tree craft square (I thought it was a sticker but it was a transfer iron-on).. I kept it in its original package. I unsealed it added confetti stars & b'day cakes then resealed it.
On the outside of the package also used bits of glue dots to a few stationary confetti pieces. I also added sentiment stickers: God Bless & Happy B'day. Shaker part done...
I don't have any card stock b/c I've been using store bought (blank inside) & recently decided to zhush ' m up.
I needed some kind of thicker board to adhere to the shaker so I grabbed a frozen dinner box...
I kept folding it.. I thought, do I really need the flaps on the end? After a few minutes it all came together & created a pocket .. Made sure the white side faced outward.
I used lots of glue dots to one side & decorated the other.
I thought about reg glue but I wanted it to be able to pull off if she wants to use the iron-on.
I cut out letters & words from junk mail packages....
"You are smart, special, champion, and great value"
Added washi tape to cover the edge of this side of the card to hide my scissor cutting.. LoL
(The shaker hid the other side)
I was racking my brains out trying to figure out how to do an envelope ..I watched several vids... I got the idea to use a piece of legal paper but it didn't fit so
used package paper (brown) & gift wrapped it. Decorated the outside after writing address w/stickers & washi tape. I also added a belly band from sticker strip.. attached by scotch tape. (Glue dots didn't work)
I added a small gift inside the pocket & a written letter.
It should be arriving at her house well yesterday but since Labor Day post didn't run so maybe tmrw?
~ I hope she likes it!!
