Not too many people know how to tap to center, and of the ones who do, most can't or won't explain how they manage it. Thanks for demystifying this technique! Now to get practicing...
This is such a deceptively difficult thing to do, but when it works it still feels like magic. Another incredible video - thank you so much!!
you are the man! Your techniques are awesome and I have implemented many of them in my throwing and trimming.... Just to let you know.. YOU ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN PEOPLES LIVES>> THANKS!!! My homemade tools work better than the store ones too.
Very very usefull, thank you very much! No one was ever able to explain it to me in such a easy way! Thank you really.
Thank you so much. That's the only one I haven't seen. I could watch you all day. Thanks!
wonderful video. I have seen lots of people do it but no one ever took the time to explain how to do it. I will definitely be using this to help my class. Thanks so much.
Thank YOU for your time to show your skills
My favorite pottery teacher
Thanks for the detailed explanation of the tap-centering technique. I will spend some time to practice. It's amazing that you could still center it easily even though you closed your eyes.
Nice work, thank you for the tutorial! This is the first time I've seen techniques like this explained.
this is going to change my life! thank you!!!
Thank you for this! Talk about a time saver. Very well done video, and very much appreciated.
Thank you for explaining and demonstrating this time-saving technique.
Omg thank you!!!! This is such a great way you taught this.
Thanks for all your great videos. You taught me a lot . X
I have tried before to tap center but now I just may succeed.. great video
Hi, please watch my video #85. Preventing "S" Crack When Throwing off the Hump. I should have good explanations on how to practice on when to stop trimming.
Thanks for such a clear explanation! I need to practice now!
You make this look so easy!! Thanks so much -- I'll be giving this a try soon. :)
You have the best learning videos I have ever seen. So nice of you to do this. I have a question. When you are trimming the bottom of a piece, I see you tapping it I assume to see how much more you can trim off the bottom. Could you explain how you know when to stop trimming so you don't have a hole in your piece or it gets too thin? Thank you so much. I have to say you are the neatest and most meticulous potter I have ever seen. Keep up the good work!
Great explanation!!! Thank you! I will give it a try on Wednesday!
I really need to practice this! I always want to chatter down a little further, but the clay is always in the way.
love your work and videos, thank you for sharing...
i wish youd oil that squeaky wheel , when i was a gilder i could centre tea cups no problem so far i find this verrrrry difficult. That looks like a great technique to try out.
Sehr hilfreich motiviert mich, Thank you, very helpful
Thank you for a great tutorial!
Thank you! Very nicely explained.
I tried it but my problem is the pot seems stick on the wheel head (it is leather hard dry) in your demonstration the pot looks quite dry. I try to hit it harder it disturbed the rim's shape. Also in some of your videos after you centered your pot you'll use coils to give extra support, I found that this will disturb the rim as well. Am I did something incorrectly?
Thank you this was very helpful!
Okay I think you need to do a blindfolded throwing video LOL :)
Thank you so much!
the notorious brent squeek
That's so hard. Make me feel dizzy each time by staring at the pot that I try so hard to centre it for too long. It's even harder than centering a clay.
Much thanks!
Fantastic! I can do that.. I think :)
sensorial! (Y)

Oil that wheel!

One year ago, I replaced the motor and control box. It’s much quieter now. If you watch my recent videos, you will notice the difference.
