For 2024 Husqvarna Motorcycles has expanded its growing line-up of e-powered minicycles with the introduction of an all-new model - the EE 2. Designed for children between 35-51 inches (90-130 cm) in height with a maximum weight of 77 lb (35 kg).
Of three models in Husqvarna Motorcycles’ minicycle line-up, the new EE 2 is the smallest standing alongside the proven and popular EE 3 and EE 5 machines. Is built to the highest of standards and offers multiple adjustment options, ensuring different sized riders and riders of greater or lesser ability enjoy riding a machine that fits them perfectly.
The electric motor is in the hub and puts out 2.4 horsepower, and there are three power modes. The most restrictive mode keeps the Husqvarna EE 2 down to a walking pace, while the mode for experienced riders delivers a top speed of over 20 mph. Should the EE 2 fall over, it has an automatic cutoff. There’s also a tethered kill switch.
The motor is both dustproof and waterproof, and most importantly for parents, it is maintenance-free. Operation is fully automatic. Twist the grip, and off the EE 2 goes. There is no transmission or clutch.
A quick-to-recharge and easily swappable Husqvarna BLi300 battery provides power for children to enjoy up to 100 minutes of riding time aboard the EE 2. Additionally, the battery utilizes the same design as most modern power tools, which means non-stop riding is possible when fully charged spare batteries are available. The battery fitted as standard can achieve an 80% recharge in just 35 minutes, with a full charge taking one hour.
The chassis is rugged and full-featured. The main frame is extruded aluminum, with the subframe made from plastic that benefits from fiberglass reinforcement. WP takes care of the suspension at each end, with 3.5 inches of fork travel and 2.8 inches of rear wheel travel.
The standard seat height is 18.5 inches. As a rider grows, the seat height can be lifted to 19.5 inches by changing the shock’s mounting position and sliding the fork tubes down in the triple clamp.
The 10-inch wheels are shod with Kenda Trak Master tires, while Endurance calipers work on 140mm discs-one on each wheel. Aluminum handlebars have ODI grips attached, with adjustable hand levers actuating the hydraulic brakes. The seat is long, allowing the rider to reposition as needed. This is a legitimate dirt bike.
The 2024 Husqvarna EE 2 comes in one colorway-blue/white. And will hit dealer showroom floors in time for Christmas. The MSRP is $2199.
