Have had the large Hofmann & Hammer work bench for over a decade, I like the design compared to others but the top was build from face grain red beech instead of quatrer sawn and splits, cracks, expands, contracts and buckles excessively. No such issues with the Sjoberg bench that I've had just as long.

I've read several reviews saying the top warps, splits, or cracks after just a few short years worth of use. I was also looking at how these benches are constructed. The stretchers that connect the two leg sets are just 1x4's that are held in with a single lag screw at either end. These joints are not going to hold up to long term use. For a lot less money, even the beginner woodworker can build a much more solid and stable workbench.

I'd rename them. The baby, the son of a bench, the daddy bench and the granddaddy bench.
