      Nah. Howard is an especially jealous and weird dude. He just gives them so much attention they are sort of forced to come on to get the publicity and money. No one in their right mind would have to go through the circus 🎪 of ridicule of the Stern Show just for shit and gigs. Ugh.

    I read duffs autobiography and it was pretty insane . I’m not the biggest G n R fan but his story was wild. He really was on the path to an early grave with his alcoholism. It’s good to see him so lucid and healthy here

    As much fun as they were having at listening to that old tape of duff it must have been scary for him because he was listening to himself basically slowly dying. One of the hardest parts of sobriety is when you have people get nostalgic and tell stories of crazy drinking times and it scares you because you can't get your head around why you were in that place and why you were self destructing.

    • @ryanm2579
      @ryanm2579 3 роки тому +1

      I disagree, back then the radio format favored quick choppy bits, Howard didn’t have the freedom he had on Sirius to sit down and listen to guests talk for over an hour. He had a 20 minute radio segment to try and cover as much as possible. It’s not fair to compare it because its two different mediums even though its still radio. And if you compare this to other radio interviews from the time period, this blows any of them out of the water. Terrible is a strong word.

    • @vistalite
      @vistalite 3 роки тому +3

      I’m not comparing. You are, ma’am. This interview is a difficult listen.The interviewer is to ask the question, shut up, and let the guest speak. Moving the conversation along in a polite manner is fine, but constantly talking-over or interrupting the guest is bad form.

      @Victor Bastos Sorry but you are wrong! Not 1985! The 90's like 1995! Hopefully you just had that '8' wrongful becauseof a typo! I have the Neurotic Outsiders disk and it's awesome!
      They were given a million dollars up front just to see where a Duran Duran bassist/songwriter with a bassist turned guitarist from G.N.R. and add a fired drummer Matt Sorum from the Illusion cd's and then put a punk guitarist/vocalist from the Sex Pistols all in the mix and see where it goes?
      Read that in Duff's book! Neurotic is definitely a great cd and we wanted a second butttttttt.....never got it!

    FFS Howard is the worst interviewer ever. "Your wife was a piece of ass", great interview opener. He's horrible, the questions the interruptions, the insults, bringing up horrible stuff constantly. Glad Duff is calm and patient with him. "No, no, I was trying to relate to you" ughh.
