The floor looks cool mate. If I can give you one tip for a shed build, I put insulation on the walls and then covered it with 20mm MDF. It keeps the heat out, the noise in and you can screw straight into it for hanging stuff. I have a corner of my wall where all my tools are on the wall with a texta shadow drawn around them. It makes it so much easier to keep the shed organized and not have to go looking for tools.
like the floor just not sure on the colour....wondering what you think of it now down the track having used it for awhile and how you go dropping bolts/nuts etc on the floor are they harder to spot?
Love the content bro. Found you from your tray build series for Coal which was mint, reckon I stayed up till 3am watching the entire series aha. Cant wait for more elite content 🙌
I used the same kit at my old joint in Meridan Plains. Had oil marks that I did pressure wash & degrease but it still lifted about a year later. Ended up grinding it off, polishing & burnishing.
@@RoamLyfe Yeah it only lifted in a couple of small spots but it was most definitely user error. I had the same issue with the chips for the first 2mtrs then started throwing a handful in the air at a time & it came out good.
After a year now, was there any damage at all to the colorbond walls from the acid wash? I know you washed it all off but there would of had to been some bits of acid that did get on the wall for a little while before being washed off? Does the colorbond protect the steel from acid damage?
Hey mate, how’s the surface going two years down the track, any lifting of the epoxy? I watched you making the welding table, did you have any issues with weld burn on the surface? Looking to do mine and just seeing if you’ve had any issues considering you still use yours like a shed and not a beauty salon 😂😂😂
Nice one mate. Did the same type of finish and the worst part was getting an even cover of the flakes. Looks like a better product than I used as I has to apply two coats of clear sealer after the flakes went down. Like the white, I picked the one that had white, grey flakes, but the white looks sharp👍
Tip for next time, have a helper to do the rolling then wearing golf shoes you can walk on it and you throw the flakes up in the air to get an even distribution at the end
Do you have to do any moister checks before applying the epoxy? If the slab had a lot of moister in it can you put a moisture barrier down? Thinking bout doing my shed
Bloody unreal hey! Id reccomend it! And if you use the shed like I do you tend to drop grinders and hammers etc they will chip any floor and I’m glad it’s not chipping a $2000 floor! Haha
I hate it..... you better hand over the keys to me.... well done mate, very interested to see what you do with lighting as there are some cool things out there.
Looks the goods mate, I have been wanting to do my shed like that, although you should have really grinded the whole floor before painting it, its the only way if you want it lasting longer than 12 months. It will definitely be peeling by then unfortunately but great effort!
@@RoamLyfe haha that will help a bit. Still the pros recommend a machine grinder first. Seen many not last like this still. Looks brilliant tho mate I like it
I like a dirty shed floor it tells people yeah I work on cars. I mean clean sheds do look good but atm just give me tools and I’ll be good Like I got a tool box for Xmas with tool
Yeah really a workshop dosnt need nice floors, I just like the idea of whipping up the spills and not stressing! Plus rolling around on your back etc on the epoxy is nice!
I reckon a fertilizer spreader would have been perfect for the flakes
Dude that woulda been mint!! Haha next shed I’ll perfect it! 😂😂
@@RoamLyfe haha yeah, just be careful itll be slippery when wet.
i was about to say that aye
Or straight up Salt Bae
Let’s hope you never have to find a dropped nut or bolt 🤣

Hi mate i am just about to do this and am using 19mm yellow tongue instead of MDF, but interested to know what you used as insulation?
My first thought was grass seed spreader too like someone said. Good on ya for giving it a crack, looks good!
Looks Mint! Also how have I never seen that tape trick with the paint bucket, gonna try that one tonight
Awesome job. Really cool
I like the colour choice looks bloody mint, keen for more episodes of the patrol in the shed now ;)
Thanks mate! Me too! Just need money for some parts 😅😅
looks awesome !
loving the safety gear with angle grinder 🤣
Hahaha the safety draw on the toolbox is lacking to some extent!! 😅😅
And the mask with the acid fumes 🤣
like the floor just not sure on the colour....wondering what you think of it now down the track having used it for awhile and how you go dropping bolts/nuts etc on the floor are they harder to spot?
the floor looks very mint, ive been wanting to it for sometime now in my shed.
Far out, that looks absolutely mint. The black and white was the right choice.
Thanks legend!!
how's the floor coating holding up over time?
Yep, that floor looks mint!

Love the shed content bro. Good stuff
Looks hectic man, keen on the future content with the shed and what ever else you choose to do mate, well done💪🏽
Thanks Tyler!
Looks sick man, nice job
How does it go with any welding in there? Does the spatter burn little holes in the floor or melt it etc?
Looks mint keen to see what else your going to be doing to the shed
Thanks mate! I’m thinking some sound deadening as it’s very echoed on camera!

Oh not good haha!! Oh well see how it goes! If it lifts I have spare paint but I can always grind and spend a bit more next time 😅😅
@@RoamLyfe Yeah it only lifted in a couple of small spots but it was most definitely user error. I had the same issue with the chips for the first 2mtrs then started throwing a handful in the air at a time & it came out good.
I subbed to a channel that repairs epoxy floors, every failed garage he fixes wasn't concrete ground :(
7:40 they show how to flake too, throwing it straight up and letting it rain down for consistency

I love it looks mad

I don't know what a bad job looks like but it looks bloody good to me.
Love it mate
Looks great. I've always wanted to do this myself
Highly recommend it hey, much nicer to work in!!
Looks great , awesome job 🤙🏾
Thanks legend!
Looks very good man. I wouldnt change it at all even if a lot of people dont like it.as long as you are happy with it. Might do my shed like that..
Thanks mate! Well worth the investment
Hey bud curious as to how the floor is holding up mate..... my garage is nearly built and I will be doing the floor very soon.
curious as well, heard this kits not the best
shoulda tried doing a big RL logo in the centre with the sprinkles haha woulda been prime
Oh shit I woulda never thought of that!! Haha next time!!
Yes this looks sick 🤙 I’m definitely doing this to my shed
Thanks Sam!
How hard is it to find an escape washer now with the specs?
The rustoleum kit comes with a flake dispenser chucker thing
Oh shit really! I jsut didn’t really like the colours they had!
Looks mint done a good job in my opinion ✌️
Hows the floor looking after a couple of years now?
$50 spiked shoes would of made it so much easier to get the consistency, and a thicker spread of flake would of been sick
That looks great! Is it slippery?
I havnt got that far yet! I’d say it’s worse than concrete but better than ice haha 😅
Looking mint
Thanks Seven!

It’s holding up great, I think it’s well worth the money! Only time it chips is when the grinder hits it or something like that! No burn marks tho!

You should
Do a moisture check with cling wrap! It’s pretty easy look it up on UA-cam!
@@RoamLyfe never new about cling wrap cheers man
How’s the floor looking now mate?
Came clean 👍
great vid man looks so much better
imagine red with black flakes to match the tools hahah
Dude I legit thought of that after!! Woulda been sick!
What grinding wheel did you use to get the skid marks off?
Just a flap wheel 80 grit!
Looks cool good on ya man where is beer fridge?
It’s coming!! Haha need power first 😅

Fark Chris, keys are yours mate! Haha
I’m gonna be pretty boring and cheap with the lights as the cost is huge for the quality ones!
Glad ya put ya boots on for the acid 😂
Hahaha I like the skin on my feet 😅😅
Haha yeah same
Can you change it to black on white so I can decide which I like better? Yeah cheers.
I'm glad you have doors ,so you shut them and don't have to look at that mess
Yessssss 😍
👌
coaly looking good
Thanks sam!
Looks Siiickk
Thanks jFord
looks awesome cosmetically, but i hope you don't drop small nuts and bolts often. looks like it would be a nightmare to see things on
Needs clear coat. The flakes will absorb anything that gets on.
What size is your shed mate?
7.5x6
Where's the keg fridge going
Haha I’ll have to make room somewhere!
Paint the floor white and the flakes black
What song do you use as your background music
There’s a few different ones in here! I used epidemic sounds to get my music!
How much did it all cost?
About $500 all up
Getting the floor ready for when the kettle boils😂😂
Hahahaha!!
My dad has an epoxy coated floor in his shed, a good tip is make sure your shoes are dry lmao
Oh it’s slippery?
@@RoamLyfe yeah fell on me arse too many times, don't know if it was wet shoes or the shed crocs 🤔😂
100% do the hydrochloric acid. Or similar. Do not skimp on this step or the epoxy or paint just won't hold good.
Looks the goods mate, I have been wanting to do my shed like that, although you should have really grinded the whole floor before painting it, its the only way if you want it lasting longer than 12 months. It will definitely be peeling by then unfortunately but great effort!
Shouldn't be an issue as long as the acid worked properly
I did also turbo clean witch takes the top layer of concrete off!
