Good advice. We too are in Arizona. 38 years of camping, and boondocking, and even with all our experience there is often a curveball we didn’t expect.
Q is a great beginner spot as so many people around who are usually helpful, and if you run out of supplies (food, water, propane etc and where the water and dump areas etc). Thank you for sharing great info for us! ❤
I've got one more trip planned soon in the Flagstaff cool pines before the season is over with, and then I'll be heading towards Quartzsite in November to enjoy the winter boondocking season with stays in various desert locations nearby. Quartzsite is awesome in Nov/Dec before the crowds show up... and easy to boondock... just check weather apps, plan meals/water/laundry/propane, and enjoy your stay. Two best places to eat in Quartzsite... Silly Al's Pizza, and the Coyote Fresh Foods hot counter for lunch. I also use the Garmin inReach while traveling (I have the mini synched to my phone). Otherwise, boondocking is awesome... think of tent camping and bringing what you'll need for a weekend... adjust from there for your needs... then, just do it.... whether you're in a tent, vehicle, or RV of some type.
