The Edwards by ESP E-MA Eclipse is a weird mix of traditional and modern specs. Despite that it is a damn good guitar. I think it only needs a set of good pickups.

I like the little details like , the recessed pot compartments inside the electronics cavity. It's a nice touch because the pots won't spin if the fastening nut for the pots come loose therefore minimizing the possibility of the wiring becoming detached. I think that's the first time I've ever seen that! Pretty cool and just shows the quality and the attention to details that go into the Edwards guitars. I have an older ESP Viper with a bolt-on neck and it sounds and plays phenomenally and is very resonant compared to most of my other guitars.

Yeah every Edwards I have reviewed is immaculate. Regardless if it is China or Japan made. Amazing guitars.

@@GeorgeVGuitarswhere they are made is often debated, but I was told by ESP staff that most are Japanese made. The bodies and necks are sometimes made in china and finished in Japan though.
I’d say Edwards are better quality than LTD.

This is actually a cheaper version of ESP MA-480CTM, just without the floyd rose, I think it was Japan only. Japanese market "ESP Eclipse's" mostly didn't have fretboard binding.

@@GeorgeVGuitars unfortunately, there isn't a cool story behind it. I live in a developing country where ltds, grass roots, navigators and xtones are probably more common than actual ESP guitars. So there are lots of Edwards guitars on our local Ebay equivalent. Lots of them are actually cooler than ESP guitars that I've seen. I really enjoy their signature series like Sugizo models and their Gibson replicas for Japanese market are top notch. I had a pretty cool Forest Bass which I've modded a bit, but I've changed it to a JB clone

@@6oundStudio I wouldn't even call my country developing since we are stuck in the soviet 90s but yeah I get ya. Its the same here - a lot of Grecko, Burny, Tokai and Edwards. Fortunately they are really good.
