- I am so excited about today's project! This DIY Custom Barn Door has been on my list of to-do's since I moved in. I always thought it would look beautiful in place of my laundry room door and I've also wanted it for function. My laundry room is long and narrow so I've utilized the side wall for hanging bags and backpacks. When there are bags hanging on the wall it won't allow the laundry room door to open all the way so my plan has always been to replace it with a Barn Door. I finally got the itch to build it and I couldn't be happier! I wish I did it years ago! As always we have the how-to video and the free printable plans for you to build your own!

Can you do a tutorial video for installing the hanging mechanism/hardware on the wall and the door.
Realy nice proyect miss Ashley...you ladies have convince me that I can do similar project at my home,so I am getting some tools and lumber... to start I am doing dome shelves for the garage...Thank you for the confidence and inspiration 👍❤

Have you ever built a custom pocket door?? I couldn't find a set of pocket doors that would close off our 8ft wide opening to our living room. We wanted to use the room as a spare room if guests spent the night. And there was no room for barndoors on the sides. So, we ordered the pocket frame online, and DIY'd the doors. They didn't come out too great. LOL! I'm glad I like "rustic"........ but it's better than nothing, and now we can close off the living room. We also couldn't figure out how to lock it, and we had trouble lining up the doors, so there is a 1/2" gap between the doors.
I would love to see you do it (and see what we did wrong! LOL)

The door looks great but was wondering if you had to remove the existing door frame or is it still there. Was hoping to do the same for a closet that I have. Love your channel.
Love this. Have you ever done a door with a window on top? I love the bottom of this but would love to do a window on top with frosted glass for my laundry room.

Great looking door! Why cut the 1/4” plywood in half. It looks like a full sheet was used, cut in half and then butted together to make the full sheet again. What did I miss?
Thank you! The door is over 8ft so I had to use two sheets. If your door is shorter you can use one solid sheet.
