None of us know Snake personally; this is politics and what the Cons have done to us all, which is unforgettable and unforgivable 😢
At some point your policies show the state of your humanity. When a person has stood for policy after policy without humanity, than they've given up that humanity.
Sunak has been in government since 2019 - he has created a lot of the issues he now has to deal with. No "feeling sorry" from here
With the amount of contempt Sunak has for the ordinary Briton, why would you feel sorry for him? I think it's glorious!
Nobody should feel sorry for Rishi Sunak. Nobody forced him to be prime minister. He knew what he was getting into and wanted it very badly.
He's not a boxer in the ring he's a pitch invader who suddenly realises he's made it onto the pitch and doesn't know what to do once he gets there.
I find it difficult to tap into my humanity for people who show no humanity .
This was the same conclusion I came to while listening to the show. I thoroughly enjoyed Theresa Mays downfall up until the exact minute she broke down in tears on the podium while saying something like "I've tried my best to serve the country I love". Rishi is yet to show anything approaching any sort of humanity, and I think that's why I've got no sympathy
It was just a passing thought. You should have let it pass. If you’re still troubled by it, just remember that when Sunak is momentarily stung, he has access to every form of consolation known to Man. Nor is he burdened by conscience.
You forgot the sexist joke levelled at a female GP he laughed at heartily
I believe the reason many do not feel sorry for him has to have suffered by being unable to both feed their children and keep their homes warm. Simple, but true.
Plus why would we have any empathy for him suffering from what his party has done, when the reason that is the case is due to people like him? We'd have to believe things would be better if he had been in power sooner, to have any empathy for his situation, which I simply do not.
His boasts about taking money from deprived areas to give to affluent, is enough to take any sympathy I may have had away.
Hard to feel sorry for an overpaid incompetent who has no empathy for nothing but his wealth
How do you know that’s all he cares about?
27:01 "I'm alright, Jack.I vote Tory. Let the Market do its thing." 27:52 Market does it's thing "I'm not voting Tory now".
Real
This is a job. He is extremely well paid. He already has hundreds of millions in the bank. The access/exposure he has now due to doing this job is immeasurable in terms of future gains/wealth. He chose this job. He applied for this job. He failed at this job - but still benefits from ALL of the upsides of having failed at this job.
Save your sympathy for the people whose lives this man (and his allies) are responsible for destroying...
Q
You're describing James perfectly with this
@@Dynasty1818 Whose lives has James destroyed..?
@@Khalkara well he helped to destroy the country/people by advocating for the establishment side during 2017-19 General Elections, that’s why we’re in the mess we’re in. If you think he doesn’t have a responsibility to be accountable then you’re part of the problem!
he made a fortune on the banking crash of 2008/9 as a hedge fund manager. He was one of those who gained out of the austerity we had imposed on us by the Tories. I keep reminding myself of this when I begin to feel sorry for him.
What made laugh in disbelief was when the Tory membership was asked to vote for a replacement for Boris Johnson they voted for Liz Truss. When Liz Truss was removed from leadership and Rishi Sunak was appointed by the Tory MP's. The membership, the party members were angry why they were not asked for their vote again. Well they voted for Liz Truss so they were not the most astute voting group.
Sunak is in a false position and not installed through any kind of democracy which is why he has to go before he does any more damage.
Have a look at the more right-wing forums, the reason Truss won that vote is down to skin colour as was the anger at not being asked to vote again.

If you stand as one man you need to take accountability, if you are manager for people below you, you are still accountable
We are the losing fighter. The stories have battered us to in an inch of our lives and still won’t give up. I don’t feel story for him in the slightest
Without reversing Brexit growth is a pipe dream.

@@Dynasty1818 I thought brexiteers were "tired of experts".

Eat out yo spread it about you mean James 😂
The tuck shop ...... takes me back , love the analogy
a pm dip's out on D-day to serve an elite run media. but we are alt right for noticing endless bs.
Why can't we set up agencies in other countries, to process asylum cases? If people could go to an office in their own country and apply there, they wouldn't have to travel? Surely that would be cheaper than all the money we're spending currently?
Very impressed with Starmer's manifesto launch and how he handled the questions thrown at him.
Finally some labour attention! Been looking forward to a topic not Torie based!
Oh you mean full unadulterated attention of a born liar!
_Keep punching!!_
Sir Keir really looked like a leader in his debate today. Sunak needs a paid audience and even then they look disinterested. I don't agree with everything KS has done so far but if he keeps supporting the little people he'll win in droves. Sad with his treatment of JC and JC's mandate is also stolen in his i.e. re-nationalism of railways but I get that is angenda when the right-wing press despiste JC because he is anti-establishment. I just want a functioning Government to support people not mega-globalisism. The interview in the Telegraph was very interesting as a traditionist Labour voter.
I'm wondering why James didn't have an hour devoted to "being in danger of feeling sorry for Jeremy Corbyn" given the extreme pillorying and smear campaign he endured during his leadership. Astonishing really.
Nothing better than listening to another Smart James while i fall asleep. I get sick of the sound of my own voice. Being a James myself.
Everything has gone wrong and it's all his fault ! Next Question ??
Yes, Covid was his fault, the war in Ukraine was his fault, corporate greed is his fault, oil companies are his fault, you failing to understand interest rates were always going to rise and lived too close to the edge of your means anyway is his fault...
Feeling sorry for people who help emiserate you or others is the luxury of those who are better off than those in the crosshairs.
Why is LBC giving a platform to Nigel Farage?
Because is James is OBSESSED with him, that's why
@@jeffsimon9594because farage is a race trader with single issues. First was brexit, now it's immigration. Both were reasons used for the public to blame for state of country.
What to check my flimsy undertstanding of Tufton Street: As PM is to POTUS, as Parliament is to congress, think tanks are to PACs or lobbyists? Couple of technical caveats they are interchangeable, just in different political environments. Anonymised slush fund or pressure groups?
Or we talking degrees between PACs and lobbies or are those distinctions without a meaningful difference?
From the lies of Johnson it was a strategy to turn on the public - rather than resign, an apology followed by a questioning - if the public is humane you should forgive me. Mistake was to offend too many with real harm now.
Its funny how something as simple as giving yes/no answer can really stand out when a politician does it. Sure, he could still be lying in theory but its a lot more difficult to stand behind something that you actually answered instead of being asked one thing and talk about something completely different.
I would have been able to empathize with him, until he targeted people with mental health! I have depression and anxiety and ADHD and since burning out at work 5 years ago,I am unable to not just work but to take care of myself including personal care, meds etc.
So, yes I am on UC and PIP.
My fear is that targeting people with mental health problems will bring the stigma back!
I tried working two years ago as an admin in care( I was domiciliary when I burnt out after working from 07:00-22:00), but after nine months due to panic attacks almost on a daily basis my employer gave up on me and I don't blame them!
I am definitely not a lazy and irresponsible person who wants to live on benefits!
The only growth the tories will provide...will be more of ...nurses treating paitents in corridors...and car parks...in our hospitals.
An overwhelming majority wikl mean that Labour will in fight just as the conservatives
Some of these people are under the impression that net worth is directly improportional to ability to be peime minister. 🤣 Of course im being silly and thr general vibe is his dishonesty around privilege. I think even us pauper normies would respect rishi more if he said look i grew up in privilege and have had lots of opportunities not afforded to most, to thay point i cant pretend to identify or relate to working class or middle class people but im going to do my best to understand your world and your view point and make the country a better place, give more opportunities to our kids and grand kids..... Then maybe theyd go yknow what fair enough. But instead the disingenuous vibe of political people pretending to be one of the masses and relate to "normie life" will never be palatable to voters
Tory sympathiser O'brien feel sorry for the deprived. Only joking was being sarcastic. Big mug moment
Ignore Snake's wealth; its his repugnant views and contempt for ordinary people that continue to draw the punches😮
JOB the whole show?
How masochistic can you get!
I’m voting for the conservatives for first time ever to try to keep farage out of
I suspect the right wing vote will be split between conservatives and reform. If reform aren't willing to do a coalition then Labour will win comfortably. Even considering a coalition I would think Labour are still likely to win (unfortunately)
😂😂😂 ironic laugh
Ive had small glimpses of symphonies for rishi. But, he is a tory.
WOuld you call it... a Bittersweet Symphony?
Mr O’Brien considers feeling sorry for Sunak because of the racism shown towards him. If we stand against racism, then we should understand it is a universal value, even if we disagree with Sunak. Mr O’Brien stands against racism, discrimination and he stands by the underdog. This is how I understand him to be. If I’m wrong, please correct me.
He should get as much sympathy on account of the racism as he gives to people on account of their being poor.
@antoniochang. Anti-racism has its dangers too. In practice , it can be dogmatic, leading to errors of judgment. Not to mention over-compensation - as in this case.
@@belindamay8063 anti racism as a position of principle has no dangers.

Chaim Levinson israeli journalist
The year 2029 was set as the date for this blessed end, and Levinson wrote the details of the last day of the occupying state, imagining its scene a few hours before the final collapse of the State of Israel. Netanyahu fled in the cover of darkness with his wife Sarah in a plane called “Zion Wing.” They refused to allow dozens of their relatives to board the plane with them. The Netanyahu couple currently lives with their son, Yatair, in a fortified mansion in Florida. Chaim Levinson
With that focus on growth, does that make Liz Trust and the Tories the "Anti-Growth coalition", now?
Love the show listen all the time, however Jonathan gullis always gets battered by james despite looking out for asda workers in previous select committees cmon james he's not that bad!
Well, have to say...was pleasantly surprised. He just went up in my estimation. Very comfortable, very confident. Prime Ministerial.
1:32:17 well the other question to ask is .. where did all that hard work get them ..
Im voting labour but not because sunak is minted. How small minded to think rishi has too much money to be pm? Ic you disagree with his policy fine or want an end to tories and their unelected leader pocket lining merry go round? Fine! But to suggest because he's obscenely wealthy and therefore cant do the job is ridiculous. By that logic i am over qualified to be pm andvypu ought to vote for me. 🤣
I agree!i feel a bit sorry for Sunak.

@firefox. All governments borrow. All businesses do it. It’s not like you and me borrowing in advance of next month’s salary.
Starmer is promising a lot with hardly any money! He will have to tax the rich so he can give a tax-break to the needy poor! To say nothing about the need to rejoin the single market with the EU?
And how long a process do you think it is to join the EU ? And why would the EU want UK back unless there is political will on both sides to stay there ?
@@ingerfaber3411 Oh, About 5 years! The EU wants member countries to have a well-trained workforce and a well-ordered banking and insurance industry! Given the will anything is possible! The UK still has many friends in the EU!
Where so you think money comes from. The tax payers use money created by the state, not the other way around. There is no such thing as tax payers money, there is only public money.
@@user-em8xs7lw8w
Try telling that to the tax-payers that pay tax out of the money they earn from private companies! That is called Econ 101 and that is why they need ‘growth’ in the economy!

All I heard was nothing will fundamentally change because we want to stick to conservative fiscal rules. I’m only voting Labour because where I live it’s the only option to get the conservatives out. PR is the only way forward for a true democracy.
I still wouldn’t vote for that treacherous establishment plant, I wouldn’t give them the benefit of telling us, “he has a mandate” and then go ahead and push the UK over the cliff. The only thing he’s changed is making labour the new Tory party.

James is still obsessed with corbyn
Why you keep talking about his money the king get money for doing nothing so he's not a prime minister but he inherited all that mess his money have nothing to do with the mess that he's going through
Well... it is and it isnt. It's increasingly clear that Sunak just cannot relate to people and it's not unlikely that his wealth is a factor in this.
The money was earned mainly from the world financial crisis resulting in his case RBS needing bailing out and he benefitted at taxpayer expense. His character doesnt relate because he is not authentic. He didnt stand by his own honesty to appease the right wing. So integrity, accountability and professionalism didnt exist.
