- Penn State vs Indiana Highlights (Indiana vs Penn State). Penn State and Indiana played in week 8 of the 2020 college football season, which opened up Big Ten play. I edited the highlights, and voiced a halftime reminder to subscribe and hit the bell (voiced by me, Wheels).
Covering sports in a unique way since 2018.
If you’re looking for a place that can educate you with commentary on top of high quality edits, this is the place for you! I’ve covered Baseball (MLB, NCAA, LLWS), Football (NFL, NCAA), Basketball (NBA, NCAA), Hockey (NHL), Softball (NCAA), and much more!
I make my videos on the HP Spectre x360. I use Adobe Premiere Rush to edit, which allows me to commentate and efficiently splice up clips in a high quality way.
One of my favorite accomplishments is revolutionizing the way sports channels create thumbnails. I started making them with team logos on the left, and a game snapshot on the right, and I’ve gotten almost all of my video views with that style.
I have a combined 4 years of experience as a Baseball & Basketball Play by Play announcer, which is where I learned my skills for commentary/breakdowns.

Absolute props to the Indiana quarterback for that extension. That is what giving 100% looks like. Beautiful pylon dive.
What’s up with this penix guy? He legit? Top recruit?
He’s pretty good not top tear I don’t think but he could become
Keith Kelso he wanted to sign with Tennessee and was promised the Job but that scholarship was taken from him when the new coaching staff came in right before signing day. The original tennessee QB coach who found him was now at IU as an offensive coordinator, so he came to IU on that relationship.
Indiana is a dark horse for the east in 2021
@@lukethompson2714 that's a very very very very dark horse
First time since 1967 that Indiana is undefeated this late in the year
😂😂😂nice
Must be A PSU fan..well guess what..your championship hopes ha e been smashed on the 1st game lmao
@Dr. Jamal Washington you forgot about ohio state
@Dr. Jamal Washington I hope OSU sucks as a Michigan fan but Justin fields... that man is good
@Dr. Jamal Washington no I'm with you on the psu game next week. PSU has a chip on their shoulder now and we're going into their house. OSU has all the talent to beat them but they better show up or else. But there's no way you can say that neither Alabama nor Clemson has looked like a national championship team EVERY week. I think it's a toss up between the three, everyone else is miles away
That poise from Penix Jr, unbelievable. This was the game that I recognized his talent and am so glad to see him play in the National Championship game tomorrow.
giving indiana a chance to come back when you only needed to run out the clock and kick a FG was the real choke by penn state.
Us lions fans are familiar with choking 😂😂😔😔🤦♂️💀
Says the lions fan ur accustomed to choking
Indiana clearly baited him into scoring.
yep
The wrestling team doesn’t choke like that in dual meets 😭. The last 6-7 seasons they’ve beaten Indiana 😭
Penn State is becoming the new Oregon. Always projected to make playoffs but always manage to loose to a team they should beat.
Well Cristobal wants Oregon to be more like Alabama football. Gone are the days of gimmick offense with no defense. So Penn State is welcome to it.
No defense ? Check the stats
@@matthewsmith9189 Good luck with trying to become Alabama. Oregon will prolly never be that good. Gimmick off offenses with no defenses gone? How so?
They WERE before losing their best player parsons to draft and their top 2 running backs one to medical condition other left after 3 runs! And clifford obviously didnt improve his passing game from last year super inaccurate amongst other issues.
@@brettk9316 Don't give me loosing players to draft excuse, that's part of college football. Alabama looses far more every year than Penn State. And they wasn't becoming like Alabama. I'll believe that when it actually happens.
This was a great game. Big playoff implications. Not a very high chance for Penn State anymore unless they clobber Ohio State
Penn State was favored by 5 against Indiana lol. They never had playoff chances. Clemson could name the score against them. If BYU or a C-USA Group of 5 team doesn't get the 4th spot, it'll probably be because the committee chooses a 1 loss Notre Dame or Wisconsin.

I’m just saying if penn state would have somehow beat OSU next week and went undefeated somehow they would be in the playoff. With a loss to Indiana it doesn’t matter what they do next week they can’t make the playoff
Wow that's an Amazing finish to an Awesome game . IMO game of the year so far
Indiana has had some really close games the past few years with BIG teams. Great to see them pull this game out. Congrats IU and we see you.

It’s not really choking because they’re a top ten team, but I get where you’re coming from
Will Indiana finally be ranked?!?!?
Nothing new for penn state, Franklin is the biggest choke artist in the country. Indiana finally found a bigger choker... that's all

@ 10:17 Why? Why? Why isn't Franklin kneeling with 1:46 and IU with no timesouts? Victory formation and 3 kneel downs then its time to go home. Huge, huge, huge mistake by Franklin.
one timeout but he should've told him to get the first down and get the fuck down
@Andy Gygi that's what i meant, i completely agree with u
Coaching great at end of big games has never been his strong suit as coach at PSU. You need a new QB and your coach to be harder on players so they learn to not score when you ask him not to score. If they throw one pick vs OSU they might get whooped by 3-4 TDs.
@Andy Gygi Yes, that was the worst call I have maybe ever seen outside of 2014 when they Allowed the RB to sack their QB with Bosa.
Penn State needs to have Jay Paterno as in former Penn State Assistant Coach on the Helm to coach..Franklin will never cut it...no matter what..
Going for 2 in first overtime when you need 1 point to tie it? What absolute maniacs! That was very, very close but you have to respect that drive to get it in when the entire game was on the line. That kid will never forget that play for the rest of his life.
They would have lost if they got a field goal. Penn state would score and win it
@@yoolendadong2770 Yeah, there must have been something that made the coach lose confidence that they could win it in 2nd overtime like maybe an injury to a key player, or he saw his defense wearing down or something like that. It is a pretty unusual move.
@@yoolendadong2770 What
That stretch for the winning extra point was crazy. At regular speed he looked short but in slow motion he made it in somehow.
For the first time in forever their playoff hopes aren't shattered by Ohio State

Amazing finish. Closest call since Dez Bryant. Indiana was amazing at end but U did think it was a bad face mask call on that last drive. Indiana QB is a little more athletic than a Daniel Jones
You're right about the face mask called that was a killer give them 15 yards
dont compare him to any nfl qb except backups

"Baby Gronk is the worst nickname I've heard in a long time" -some guy 3 years ago in this comment section. Little did he know
Congrats on the 100k, Wheels.
Did the penn state running back who scored instead of falling down to kill the clock have himself on his college fantasy team or something? 😂
What a crazy game, we made some bad calls during the game but that was super close at the end, GG Nittany Lions.
I don’t think he was in but it’s hella close they didn’t overturn it bc the original call was TD
That's what I'm thinking.... Maybe it was in contact with pylon as it hit ground
The point of the ball was over the goal line just inside the pylon prior to the ball hitting the ground.
Point of ball was over the inside of pylon. Also that's what penn state gets for a having a ' baby gronk'. The dumbest nickname of all time.
@@jeremysmith6483 mane sho said det i thought gronk had a baby brother
They couldnt over turn it because you cant tell because there is no pylon cam so they have to go with the original call
Nice monumental win. Could the Hoosiers be for real, this season. Lol.
They're the real deal.
They lose to rutgers next 😭
Congrats Indiana your win today was special! Tough loss PSU fans, but keep your heads high. Yes Penn State had a tough matchup with OSU next week, but after that they should be just fine. For Indiana, I hope you guys can pull out a special season in what is a weird one. Good luck to both teams! - Coming from a Washington huskies fan
Thank God for college football! What a game!!
on the 2pt conversion it looks like it touches the boundary before it touches the pylon making him out if bounds...unless I missed something.
The ball just needs to touch the front of the white line not the pylon. Idk if it did it crazy close. Imagine the front of the white line is an invisible wall the ball just needs to touch it.
Chris S I agree
I am a penn state fan we should of won
@@Saki-qp2oh wait till next weekend 😫 O-H !!!
When the ball touches the boundary, the nose of the ball is on the inside of the pylon. You need to do a little geometry but that ball is in. If I was Penn State, I'd still be pretty salty that the line judge called it good on the field. In real time, it was damn near impossible to tell.
An absolute A+ college football game--ND fan who didn't realize how important the Big 10 is to the feel of college football. ND throughout my lifetime (born in 75), essentially played a Big 10 schedule (kinda like how they play their ACC schedule now) and had phenomenal rivalries with the Purdue(s), Michigan(s), Michigan State(s), Penn State(s), then also played Northwestern, IU, OSU and Wisconsin now on schedule...To me ND was always a natural Big 10 fit and would much rather they have their little thing they got going with the ACC, have it with the Big 10 but they'd never allow them in conference unless football was included--can't say I blame them--where I can blame them is how they refused to allow them in the conference the Knute Rockne was trying to get in--they also tried other times and were refused admittance essentially being a Catholic University I guess that was too much for the Big 10 Presidents so they just went forward as an independent--. Anyways still glad to have them back playing ball for it feels kinda like a normal football season--What a GREEEEAAT game!!!!!!

IU got a coach, IU got a quarterback, IU got a chance.
First .. this was crazy
Good to see them back. We got tired of Big 12 football/basketball with scores like 77 to 70.
just here reminiscing the good old days after penix entered the transfer portal
I was always told the pylon is out of bounds so if the ball hits the pylon then the ball is out of bounds, the ball was on the outside of the pylon not the inside. I seen the same play go against Ohio State where the player hit the pylon with the ball and they claimed that the ball was out of bounds because of the pylon was out of bounds.
Source? Pylon is in.
That is false....the pylon is universal....which means if you cross it from any angle and your body is inbounds or you are airborne (as a runner, not receiver) it’s a touchdown. He could have literally went passed the pylon on the out of bounds side but if his body was in it still would have been a touchdown. Tough call but the call was correct, we know the ball hit the pylon the only thing that was in doubt was the question of him being down or not.
I disagree - if you look at the bottom of the ball, at the tip , it makes contact w/the turf BEFORE making contact with the pylon. I'M NOT a PSU follower, but if you're going to "use instant replay" to confirm a call, what the sam hell are you looking at there ?? Ball tip clearly hits the ground & out of bounds first, before hitting the pylon...
@@759NPR it hit the ground but there is an argument that it crossed the line before hitting the turf out of bounds
Forget the pylon for a minute. Did the nose of the ball ever go over the white goal line, even by a sliver? If it did, the 2 pt conversion is good. It is quite possible the ball landed out of bounds before touching the pylon, but did the nose of the ball cross the plane at any time before that? There wasn't enough evidence to say no.
Good game 🎉😮
Those are some great highlights Wheels. We will get them next time. Can't wait for the OSU upset which is going to happen this coming Halloween. GAME-DAY will be there too. Great job Indiana, you beat us fair and square and I talked to some people doing the production and they confirmed that it's a successful two-point conversion and it was the right call. I will take my lumps and get packing for Columbus this weekend as I have tickets.

Say what you will about the call but Hoosiers fought awful calls all game and Penn State did not deserve a W the way they played. Great win Hoosiers!
You should check the stats for the game Penn State definitely deserved that win they totally outplayed them especially 2nd half. Credit Indiana they got the W but Penn State definitely help them a lot
Indiana has always been deceptively good. Most years they’re good on offense and always end up choking against average competition and give the big boys a scare some times. Illinois used to be the same way but now they just stink all around.
Penn State and Michigan always ranked way too high!
I hate both of them. They always are ranked to high for their skill.

On my 20th review..... The ball touched out of bounds at the moment it hit the pylon.... By definition that is a touchdown because the pylon is in play....
Well yes and no. The side of the pylon toward the goal is good but the rest is out.

Congrats on 100k
At 10:21 the RB got the first down and decided not to kneel. Instead, running in for TD to boost his stats. This is a very selfie play. Idk if it’s the coaches or players fault but it happened. All they need was to take a knee after he gets down for the first down. Not a fan for either team but when your team is that selfish, penn state deserve to lose.
Game of the year
Indiana finally didn’t pull a classic blow over let’s gooooo
As a Michigan fan, I am excited to play them now that they are ranked..
2:46 best run I’ve seen this season for any team.
Wow....good game!
Wow that commentator jinxed gurley, he didn't go down at the one today and the falcons choked again
That kick though 5:50
At least we don't have to see Indiana crowd rushing the field...
Wow, PS LOST that game, truly snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
Indiana deserves to be in the top 25
Both coaching staffs had major brain meltdowns today. IU shouldn't have taken a knee to end the first half. Instead they gave PSU a golden opportunity to cut into the lead. Then in the fourth quarter what the hell is going on with that kickoff???? Again IU gave PSU a chance to score in the waning moments of the 2nd half. What the hell was Tom Allen thinking?
Franklin's clock management in the last 2 minutes of the 4th was clearly a dubious moment in his coaching career. I can image the media in PA is going to have a field day with that move.
Indiana's offense needs to step up their game. They had their chances to expand the lead and didn't get the job done. They can't count on the defense getting 4 turnovers every game..
Indiana finessed Penn State by letting that guy score at the end of the fourth quarter 😂
How did they let that call stand. The ball hit the ground before it hit the pylon
THE PYLON DOESN’T MATTER, it was over the goal line
Penn St tears so sweet.
Actually that would be the case, but the call at the end of the game should make it laughable. Granted Penn state played so bad and the Hoosiers played great
@@chwispy2328 call was good. If you are a Penn St fan doesn't surprise me you disagree with what authority ruled. There's a long history of that there. Ball tip crossed goalline, by rule game over. Sorry you missed it.

I mean if it broke the plain wouldnt the pylon be touched sooner, instead of after it hits out of bounds

Penn State isn’t as good as we thought they were. Indiana is gonna be a good team this year, but it’s too early to tell
When I saw the game open as a 5-6 point spread, I knew Penn State was extremely overrated. Ohio State and Wisconsin are all the Big Ten has.
@@RobbieStacks90 they’ve been overrated

Sports311 Ohio State is going to destroy them when they play each other anyways!
Ball was down before it hit... They got away with that one....
But penn state left to many points out on the field and then not going down instead of touchdown..... [Correction ball hit pylon and ground simultaneously meaning td)
This was Indiana's game to life until Penn state didn't kill the clock
It didn’t need to hit, the ball was literally over the goal line
@@loganbuckeye11 i corrected myself in a later comment... Hit the pylon and the ground simultaneously
amazing but why is a 2 point conversion considered a touchdown in college?
?
Refs missed that call at the end of the game. Pretty clear the ball touched down out-of-bounds before hitting the pylon. Either way, Penn State totally blew that game and should've never been in that situation to begin with.
When it hit the ground it was over the goal line therefore touchdown was the right call
Wow!
On the 2pt conversion in OT. If the nose of the ball got over the white goal line (by even a sliver) before the ball touched the ground, the conversion was good. While there may be a case to say the ball landed out of bounds before touching the pylon, I don't think there was enough evidence to say the nose of the ball never got over the white line at all.
The play was left as called. Meaning if it was called short it would of remained short. There wasn't enough evidence to prove either.
That 2point conv, the ball hit the ground first.. doesn't that mean it's down.. I don't get it?
It was over the goal line when it touched the ground so it’s a touchdown
The official called it wrong at the end it was a conversion not a TD ;)
As stupid of a play as it was for the running back to run it in, how the heck are you a d1 college coach and you dont have the common sense to milk the clock and kick a field goal
Yeah it's a bonehead play for the RB but a complete fuck up by the coaching staff for calling a run in the first place. Honestly it doesn't even look like he was told to go down early, he should have had that repeated to him 100x before they lined up to snap.
@@cameronstate Franklin told him.
Or go for two after that accidental score... worst case you don’t get it but they wouldn’t go for two in that scenario
M you should have applied to be the coach if you are that of a genius
@@quentincampbell612 how do you know that?
I live and breathe IU and man did we rob one but damn it feels good to FINALLY win a big game that was close.
On the 2-point try the ball hit the ground before it hit the pylon...call should have been reversed.
i agree
That may be the case, but whether or not it hit the pylon first is irrelevant to the call. The real question is whether or not the tip of the ball crosses the goal line even slightly, which takes place before the ball even hits the ground. I think it does, but either way, it's far too close to reverse.
I bet #28 on penn state will never forget that one...
