Hi! I’ve been bullet journaling for 5 or so years. It is the first “planning” system that has ever worked for me. I’ve never been able to plan in traditional planners before, they just didn’t work for me. Until I began bullet journaling. I’ve found that you can bullet journal in anything. I suffer from depression and anxiety and I had completely burnt myself out a couple years ago. I couldn’t keep up with decorating my bullet journal at the time and needed something that I could literally just take a pen to, no drawing or decorating necessary. I ended up bullet journaling in a cheap horizontal planner for 9 months until I had the energy to devote to more decorative bullet journaling again. One thing I learned was that the horizontal weekly layout worked for me so I still draw them into my bullet journals today. I also found that I got sick of migrating collections, so I use a B6 Stalogy for my main bullet journal and use smaller notebooks in a TN for my various collections. That’s what works for me. And that’s what I love about the bullet journal method. It literally changes with me as my needs change over the years. I hope you enjoy it and I loved hearing you work through the process.
I love how you explained it! I see so many get discouraged because of all the art work. The method itself is so much simpler. Thank you for sharing! I also like how he mentions in the book to do what works best for you. “Your notebook will never help me, nor mine you.”
One of the things I saw Ryder talk about was Scrapbooking because it was something he used to do. He said “Think of it like a scrapbook. Can you scrapbook in a Bullet Journal? Absolutely, yes. I a Bullet Journal a Scrapbook? No.” You could substitute Scrapbook with anything - planner, journal, scratchpad, sketchbook etc and the sentence still holds.
RhomanysRealm I know it’s only day 3 and you have shared things about Bullet Journaling that has helped in my challenge for OBJ. Thanks and keep sharing as you’ve inspired me to just do it!
I think the important thing about the bullet journal method is that it is so customizable. So it CAN be a planner. Or it can just be part of your journal. Or it can be used in a planner. Or it can be used in a blank notebook. You don’t HAVE TO use it in just one way. Just like you don’t HAVE TO use every part of it, or use it exactly as written. That’s what I’ve always liked about the concept. Which is why it’s so frustrating that I haven’t managed to make it work for me yet. But I’m following along this month to see what I am adapt. And I’ll see if I can get the method worked into my current journaling/planning system.
That ‘ Folio’ 😊 is the perfect size for running around in the summer and taking care of 3 little ones🤗💕! I wish I could use the weeks, but I found that I needed more room per day. I definitely have to read The Bullet Journal Method again! Thank you for sharing your understanding of it all. I look forward to seeing your updates. Take care and have loads of fun🎆!
i do exactly what you're talking about in a Clever Fox Weekly. I bullet journal, just on the relevant day. The Clever Fox has dot grid in the back which I use for collections.
@@delle3955 I need proper forward planning as my family has a lot of moving parts. The clever fox gives the calendars I need, plus loads of dot grid note pages when I need to expand.
Love your interpretation of the Bullet Journal Method book. It is different from my interpretation but I learned something new from you. Thank you for posting.
Yes you are so right! I also think that RC meant to create a METHOD and not what we see so often in terms of artsy spreads, which is lovely don't get me wrong.
Disagree with it not being used for planning purposes, see page 53. But that's the beauty, you make it work for you! We are all so different and have different needs. I agree that he's teaching a method not just a better to do list. 👍🏼
Loving One Book July 2019! Learning lots of things about myself and I realize I have commitment issues hence the constant changes and I so far have stuck to my A5 Bullet Journal Book that I had set up then abandoned only to watch Rhomany’s video from day 1 OBJ and went back to plan A and it’s only day 3 😱 but I see things that the BUJO method can walk me through to make this process more useful for me. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to all the sharing this month😝
Started daily logging. Reading the book now. So far so good. Also did a vlog on my channel of how my hobo weeks is traveling along with me since July 1st. Also put a flip through of my bullet journal collection from the past 2 years on my channel. Come check it out.

Nicole Bencker That is a great idea about using separate notebooks in a TN for your collections!! I’m going to try that. Thank you.

I bullet journal in a planner because I need the structure too. Hope it works for you!!!

Is there a FREE version to read that book. I'm currently not working on budget. Thanks for sharing
Library?
It wasn’t in my budget... so I found it at my local library. I hope you can too!
library...if your local one doesn't have it. Request it and they may buy it, or get it to for you from another branch.
I used a free trial on audible to get it in audio form for free. I still want a paper copy, but sometimes you take what you can get.
