as most of my info was translated its rough but as far as i know gio was drinking, he asked his friend to drive him (home im guessing) and gave him the keys to his e34 , im guessing they would have been pushing it a bit sliding and the like then his friend lost control sending the car (passenger side first) into a tree. quite possibly killing gio on the spot, his friend that was driving lived.
