That was veryyyy veryyyyyyyyyyy cool indeed....Sounds amazing..I been playing guitar allll my life(im 64 now) and when i seen u do this i immediately picked it up and said THATS AMAZINGGGGG...LOL..i actually TAUGHT my 17 year old son to play it extremely well...He also was blown away by it...Salute from Chicago brother.🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻
Love it! Dude, keep them coming...cool riff indeed. 30 min workout 5 min drunken spider 2 min badass blues riff You have me at the top of my game, Eddie and GMM. After 35 years I actually think I don’t suck too bad and might even have finally become a decent player. Really can’t thank you enough for these amazing lessons. I love playing more than ever!
I have had a guitar in my life (off and on) for 40 years. I always got frustrated trying to push past just strumming old Dylan songs. I joined the GMM VIP club a couple months ago and this time, it looks like I'm getting real results! I'm 63 now and playing in a band is on my bucket list!
I actually learned something similar decades back. Michael Schenker has a song called "Captain Nemo" (off his 1983 "Built To Destroy" album) that is super-close but a little more... "hoppy" and has some descending runs. Of course, Schenker has a long history of combining neo-classical, blues and classic rock in his rhythms and solos. Very cool. Stay safe everyone. Cheers.
I think it was Keith Richards that once said something like "you can't play rock & roll if you don't understand the blues". I love blues, and any form of music that has bluesy motif riffs in it.
I've been playing for many years but haven't done some of these techniques, Thanks for showing them. Always learn new things even if they are simple because they will open new door ways to your playing and may give you that missing piece that you've been looking for.
Love this lesson. It has a multiplicity of benefits. One suggestion. How about a short discussion of the different notes that comprise the major and minor pentatonic scales. Which notes they share and which ones they don’t. I believe it will provide some additional context and enhance understanding of their potential usage.
Love it, thanks for sharing! Are there tabs for this blues exercise? Would be great to see more simple exercises like this for each genre...country, rock, picking, etc. Thanks!
The major pentatonic scale is the most played scale pattern for 12 bar blues and rock. The 1 4 5 is the essence of modern blues. It's use over the last 120 yrs has influenced the direction of modern music. Robert Johnson is said to be the father of this modern format. He has been accused of selling his soul to Satin for his ability to play. His story is short and sad but at the same time truly amazing. When I first started playing guitar the pentatonic scale opened that so called door. I then began to slightly understand basic musical theory. The pentatonic major scale was the number one reason I still play today.
Hey Eddie! I just began watching all your beginner solo Videos. You're a great teacher and I've already learned more about VIBRATO from you than ANYONE on UA-cam! Thank you😊!
Wouah 🙏 I wish I could play that perfectly. Problem, I understand what you Say, I Can read the tab, but I have to work, work.... Thank you for everything 🤪🙏
Hiya Eddie - another fun riff for a WARM UP with the 3 minute riff that I already do - I find it even more fun to play it along with a youtube drum beat! Thanx buddy.
Its not for beginners and I hate it when they say they are going to teach a person how to learn and pick a guitar then just showoff on how they play in other words two minutes of teaching and seven minutes of talking BS.
@@GuitarMasteryMethod It REALLY IS ! I like that. I like that a lot !! You always seem to have a smooth way to practice/exercise/ warm up that sounds great and that makes a big difference. Thank you !! And you never show off !!!??? Another huge plus. Peace.
I rarely comment, but this deserves props. Thank you Eddie! Great exercise to get out of the 12 bar generic rut!! I’ll be checking your out he vids out for sure.

Bro - you come up with the "funnest" exercise riffs that are easy enough to be fun but purposeful enough to help us grow as players - you rock !!

I actually play this riff already, but this is an awesome way to practice with it. I use it for double stops and slides too. Awesome video!
