It’s like comparing Innova DX to Innova Champion plastic, baseline compared to premium, I like the feel of both plastics it’s hard to verbalize how the compare and feel in the hand but my best comparison is DX-champ or d-line / c line if you’re familiar with Discmania’s normal line of plastic
I got a maestro and mentor in premium plastic. I'm starting to like the maestro, flies like my beat in harp with more distance. The mentor in premium flies nothing like the numbers for me. Basically flies like 11 5 0 2.
I got a Sensei in a mystery box back in December in the premium plastic and it's been in my bag ever since. That and my Aviar 3 are my favorite throwing putters. I find the sensei to be a little bit more over stable.
Great video Noah. Do you think the Mentor will make the bag as a replacement of the DD3 you lost at Buff? Also, couldn’t agree with you more on the Sensei...sweet disc.
I didn’t lose that dd3 Dylan scooped it back for me from the pond! And no I don’t think it would replace it but I did put the premium mentor in my bag after that review, haven’t thrown it much since then though
Hey Noah. Thank you for the review. The Maestro already found the way in my bag as the overstability really helps on short holes where you can rely, that it will always turn on a backhand throw to get you somewhere close to the basket. At least for the course in Cologne it really works out :D. Have a nice day !

Yes mate, great vid, I’ve just got the Mentor and wasn’t a big fan of the feel, but actually really like it now... not tried the premium plastic yet but will try and pick up a premium Sensei. Great vid as always 👍🏼

One thing I noticed the other day. I have a base maestro (forgot about it 😅) as well and that thing wasn't nearly as overstable as the premium one.. It's a lot flatter on the top too
I bag the Sun Bird when Discmania released the Active line last year, it has the same flight numbers as the Genius. I just have awful form, because mine turns right, then hyzers out late at the end, but never dives like yours did.
I have a pretty fast arm speed and just don’t really like powering down as much as it’s needed for the -4 turn of the genius, more hyzer angle and height should help get you a little more distance as you can see in the 1st / 2nd genius throws in this episode as the second one I gave more height and it did get some extra distance before rolling but still didn’t wanna fight out for me at the end
Nice concise review. I bought the baseline Genius. Used first time at Borderland yesterday. As a newbie with limited arm speed it was "awesome". So many better left to right lines on the White to White course that I could not reach with a forehand. You just throw too hard for that disk. :)
Yeah i don’t think it’s really tailored for someone with an arm speed like I have, but like I said will be really good for newer players that need that extra glide and distance without forcing it or being able to throw super hard
I’m a fairly new player and I mostly throw innova and a few Discraft discs. I bought a Neo Instinct and I’ve been loving that disc which made me want to look into some more discmania stuff. What discs would you recommend from their lineup?
I can’t think of anything really specific I’ve done to improve distance I’ve just been playing for a long time and have an athletic background along with just loving to throw discs as hard as I can, think of it like starting a lawn mower in the sense of moving really slow then really hard and fast at one time, gotta really snap and spin the disc as hard as you can

I’ve been throwing it a lot and honestly feels exactly like a d line p3x without the bead, I’ve been loving it and almost every shot with it since this review video was filmed has been a good shot, thanks for the support!
I feel like it’s a perfect disc for a beginner that needs that extra turnover to get more distance on your flight path, for someone like my with a fast arm speed it’s actually pretty hard to control 😅😂
@@DailyDiscGolf Beginner with elbow problem here. So when I can throw Genius very straight, and fading at the end in right (left handed), is it just because I throw so slow or some other error in the throw? I love it, Sensei and Genius are only ones I throw now.
It could be that you have a slower arm speed or aren’t giving it enough spin. If you have an elbow problem it could be that hindering you from throwing harder for that next level distance, but if it’s working for you and getting you good distance compared to other drivers than I would just keep doing what you’re doing until you’re “turning it over” too much and then you move up in stability to a new mold
I don’t like throwing understable discs for the most part so I don’t think I would enjoy that disc or put it in my bag unfortunately, maybe some day I’ll come across one and do a quick roller review 😂
I know, it was close to 7 o clock and I wanted to get this video filmed before I left for a little “discation” the next day. On my laptop screen during the edit it seemed to be much brighter than on my friends TV when we watched it after I uploaded, so I’m not sure if it maybe got a bit darker after processing, either way I’ll try not to film at sundown in a field of trees in the future 😅
Please, please, please don't do a Jomez and take out your original music. There was hints of your original music in the outro: don't abandon it! I hate that Jomez has so-called "evolved" with their music. When it's excellent, preserve it. Nice review.
I usually use the same tune for 3 min Thursday uploads but I change up the songs for my full length episodes for the custom intros and such, been hard finding new songs I like that are copyright free but I’ve been digging the jams lately. Thanks for the feedback Michael!
It was quite dark for the filming of this video as the sun was already under the tree line, my camera wasn’t the issue, but I took note not to film so late in the day after putting this one together.
No drone yet, I film with the canon m50 with an ef-s 18-135mm lens. Looking to get some sort of DJI drone this year, most likely the mavic mini to avoid any major drone laws as its 249g right under the 250g limit for commercial drone flight and such

I felt like the maestro was sort of harp/tactic like but just with a tick more dome on the silhouette
I can agree. I bought the active premium mentor as well and its easily more overstable than my destroyer.
Yeah the premium mentor doesn’t have the hyzer flip that I expected out of the box but feel like it will beat in really well

I bought the last Genius there was on the Discmania website and was looking for a review of it and i think this will be a pretty good roller disc.
I don’t throw many rollers in my area because the ground is very rooty and rocky at most courses, I’ve never really learned how to throw a good roller

You should try out the Jiao by Yikun, it has -5 turn and it’s probably the most understable PDGA approved disc out there.
