The astronaut unleashed an extra 80 feet on my drive instantly. I love the disc and it is extremely reliable for me! I actually recommend it to any beginners ready to disc up but aren't ready for something overstable.

Arguably and I’m a strictly prodigy thrower it’s… Prodigy. Every disc has a spot in a bag for a certain course though. Shred the course bro!
The beast is an awesome disc. The only problem is that it's outclassed by every other disc for specific shot shapes. Hyzers can be handled by wraiths, destroyers, thunderbird. Straight shots by wraiths , valkyries, maybe even teebirds. Turnover/anhyzers by sidewinder, Tern. But if I had to build a super small bag I'd consider the beast for the distance driver slot
A beast in champion plastic beat in is the most controlled hyzer disc on the market. It stays consistent once it reaches that beat in phase. You can even hyzer forehand these discs extremely controlled if you know what you're doing. Every new player needs two one stable star and champion. By year two you will have two of the best most consistent flying discs in your bag. If you don't know about the convex or concave rims you have some studying to do. I have three forehand aces and four backhand aces with these discs 😂
I was given a star shryke by a friend and I gotta say it’s one of my favorite drivers. I feel like it can do any shot shape you put it on and it’s basically is like a beat destroyer out of the box with a ton of glide. Highly recommend.
I really don’t get the hate on the Active line from Discmania. It’s clearly something targeted to beginners or noodle arms who want a disc they don’t have to spend $20 for. I’ve been throwing the Genius the awhile in the Premium plastic and it has hit plenty of trees and holds up just fine. It is a hyzer flip machine and holds the turnover line great. Lost one in the woods once and was glad I only had to shell out $15 to replace it.

I laughed when I saw the number one disc, as I do have an Astronaut that I occasionally bag. The plastic on mine seems to be extremely durable. The disc flies exactly like the flight numbers say and I love it for that. It really bombs! But I agree about the inconsistency in the mold, as my son-in-law and his friend both purchased one and they were really over stable! The difference that I could see, was that theirs were pretty pop topped and mine was fairly flat. They couldn’t believe how straight mine flew, LOL.
I have both. The "stable" version should definitely be something you want to grow into, as with a little more power it can be a straight 425'+ bomber, but only the more stable ones can handle that kind of flight. Usually the pink ones have more stability, as they have a steeper angle on the bottom of the rim like other stable discs, but any disc with a higher edge will be more stable than its peers. Both domey and flat top discs can be quite understable
Destroyers are by far my favorite disc ever!!! I love when they make different runs, help fit all the slots I need it for! When you find a good run you have to buy as many as you can, because they might be different next time…
The dragon isn’t a distance driver, definitely labeled as a fairway driver. I personally bag a dragon and it’s really good at being a really understable disc with a slight fade left but only if you have the right height
The dragon is the worst disc I have ever thrown. I’m surprised you bag it. I kept trying to use it and it went in a river and I just took that as a sign to let it go.
I still have one labelled as a distance driver, regardless what it's labelled really doesn't matter. I have no hate for it, it's a cheap disc that will float. I use it for what it was intended, throwing it around water when I think there's a good possibility that anything I throw is going to go in said water.
I threw a beast as one of my first discs. Absolutely loved it. Hated the wraith when I started tho. I know people adore that so take this with a grain of salt
I agree with both of what you said. My first single disc purchase was a DX beast. It got beat in quick. I jumped to a Champ plastic. I’ve been using it for a year now and love it on a hyzer and watch it flip up, make a nice turn and finish with a slight fade.
Not me owning and enjoying both the Beast and the Astronaut 🤣 I admit the Beasts are insanely different between plastics, but the champion is real good. I also like my Astronaut, as it feels maybe more like a -3 turn. Anyways, thought that was funny
Same here, I have bagged one really flat premium sensei for two years and it still flies the same as new. I also bag one normal active line sensei, which is really beat up, and its really straight from hyzer release, and I know what it does on anhyzer too.. . Love those two.
Way to many beginners buying disc like the destroyer and other wide rim high speed max distance drivers and expecting it to fly like the pros lol!!! Form and technique are everything in disc golf! It took me hundreds of man hours to learn a professional quality shot that goes 450ft! My best recommendation, bye lower speed fairway drivers and mid range disc. Watch some pro tips on UA-cam and practice your form! After your comfortable throwing a disc then move up to distance drivers. Do not even play with max distance drivers until your form and technique is good enough to throw 300+ ft! Bye a leopard, eagle, or teebird learn on these for drivers. Buy a Roc or Buzz for mid ranges and pick up at least three putters! You won't need any other disc until you've mastered these!!! My personal opinion anyway much love ✌️

I'm not sure why people hate the Dragon so much. I loved it back when I was in middle school and high school. It does literally exactly what it claims to do. And the Beast is great. Champ ones are more common and significantly beefier, so maybe that's why beginners struggle so much.
I love the beast. My dad and I both bag one and they fly pretty much identical. They are both Barry Schultz 2x world champion runs in champion plastic. Idk if that makes a difference, but my first ever ace was with it. Maybe that makes me a little biased, but idc.
I feel like a lot of people bag the Astronaut because they have no choice. Right now it fills a gaping hole in Discmania's lineup. There is no understable distance driver in the Evolution line and the Originals line TD has been out of stock and out of production for a really long time. Discmaniacs seeking a turning driver have no options beside the Astronaut.
@@discgolfamateur8692 yeah and maybe because i threw mostly innova i notice it more but it seems when i buy a disc from another conpany and its turn number is a negative it actually will flip a bit day 1. When it comes to innova though i have leopard3s that fly like beefy teebirds.

Astronaut bombs…I’ve been playing for years and got one in a mystery box. It immediately became one of my straightest and furthest flying in my bag. I lost it in the water on a crazy windy day and immediately replaced it with a new one…that flies exactly the same as the original. I highly recommend it to people with 350’ distance and want a bomb hyzer flipper
You guys should throw the discs or show them off. I like the lists but I think showing the discs off would be more appealing but that's just my input I love yalls content so don't get me wrong please :)
Dragon is a FAIRWAY driver and I bag it. If you have a modicum of speed control (all y'all young kids overthrow everything) it is controllable and possibly the BEST "constant anhyzer" fairway, I park many holes with it every time.
I can say this: in the Charlotte area I have found at least 10 beasts in the woods at courses and it’s my favorite disc to sell back to stores when I’m getting new ones. Unbelievably inconsistent molds and no two Beasts are anything alike if you ask me (I have one Champion beast that’s very overstable that I do occasionally bag however).
I was spotting at a tags even over the weekend and heard a Junior say they loved their Dragon. So be mindful these are higher arm speeds and advanced players discrediting a disc enjoyed by Juniors and maybe beginning players. Trolls suck and screw up all things.
destroyers aren’t a disc for everyone but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad discs. destroyers are for your above average player who want that extra distance, but it takes lots of arm speed to get there. i think it’s a good disc for good players
Champ beast is a fantastic disc that doesnt get enough love, and this list adds to it. All it needs is for one of the female pros to bag it and come out with it in color glow or halo plastic. Everyone would rave about how good it is.
Your channel, you can manipulate the polls all you want. But I refused to use the destroyer for the longest because the 3 I threw I couldn't stand. I ended up accidentally getting one without a stamp and absolutely love it.
Astronaut is the most understable distance driver I've found and it has had a slot in my bag for a long time which I've attempted to replace with a better plastic dist. We'll see if the originals series DD does the trick.
How does a 5 dollar difference make something "cheap"? Also destroyers are the truth. Just buy 40 or so and you'll get that one lol. Good video and pretty accurate
It’s just based on your subs. There are many types of destroyers just like eagles. And beasts require better players that can play the wind. Why even do this video? Lame
Oops ... I bag 2 of those choices and I've liked both over the years ... Innova Dragon and the Innova Beast. Each has their spot in my bag for certain throws.
Your big complaint for all of these discs is inconsistency. You then ignore your own poll where we all voted for worst discs. If you're just going to ignore what people say, maybe don't do polls next time.
@@discgolfamateur8692 His biggest complaint in the video is inconsistency. Please name for me the most inconsistent disc in the world. It's the Destroyer.
Finding right destroyer is extremely easy, just look plh and how concave the wing is, more concave is more overstable. Every time I have bought a destroyer it flies exactly how it should when I look the plh and the wing. So no, you always know what you are going to get if you know what to look.
"inconsistency" is something cited by people who can't consistently throw the disc in the same way. To say the Destroyer is overrated is to admit you can't throw a destroyer with any sort of confidence lol
Kind of dumb to just ignore the results you got. You need to either actually include it or find a different way to get your list, infinte disc ratings maybe?
People love to hate on innova, I have a champion beast that has the same flight now that it had 6 years ago when I got it. Dead straight with soft fade up to 400’ for me
I love the destroyer, however it truly is one of the most inconsistent from disc to disc. On the bright side, you can throw only one mold if you try enough discs. Ricky only threw destroyers, he had like 7 in his bag.
Distance comes from timing of rotation and snap, which I'm still working hard to master, I have only been playing for my 3rd year only been working hard on my distance for past six months got the basics down first i have just recently hit the 350 mark, so straight flat 300 ish
Yes they ask the question first and people get to reply with a comment, then they add every disc that is mentioned and count how many times it gets mentioned and that is how they get the top 5 and then the poll is to just rank these 5. Hope that explains it for you. 😊

the vulcan was like: "what, did you forget about me?!" (yes, we ALL forgot about you, you sucky excuse for throwable plastic. just as soon as you jumped in the nearest body of water....)
They could throw something other than discmania
@@quintaviousjaquintamarion8022 boggles my mind when amateur players go out of their way to only bag one brand.
Great thumbnail bait. You nailed it.
I find it hysterical when inconsistent throwers talk about inconsistent flights of a particular disc. it's absurdly laughable...
Innova honestly sucks when it comes to consistency. I sware they fill in the flight numbers before they mold a disc. Like they have to fill a hole
A lot of companies suck with inconsistency. For example, dynamic discs, discraft, prodigy, latitude, Westside, etc…
@@discgolfamateur8692 yeah and maybe because i threw mostly innova i notice it more but it seems when i buy a disc from another conpany and its turn number is a negative it actually will flip a bit day 1. When it comes to innova though i have leopard3s that fly like beefy teebirds.
Its a weird situation because more destroyers are made and sold than any other disc. So the chances of the destroyers having more inconsistencies are multiplied and then put under a magnifying glass because it's so popular. But haters gotta hate I suppose 🤷
it's the f-150 of disc golf
Astronaut bombs…I’ve been playing for years and got one in a mystery box. It immediately became one of my straightest and furthest flying in my bag.
I lost it in the water on a crazy windy day and immediately replaced it with a new one…that flies exactly the same as the original.
I highly recommend it to people with 350’ distance and want a bomb hyzer flipper
You guys should throw the discs or show them off. I like the lists but I think showing the discs off would be more appealing but that's just my input I love yalls content so don't get me wrong please :)
or put them on a range and pump them full of holes. do a crossover episode....
The Dragon is a great disc for beginners. I love to throw it, I've hit some insane lines
Dragon is a FAIRWAY driver and I bag it. If you have a modicum of speed control (all y'all young kids overthrow everything) it is controllable and possibly the BEST "constant anhyzer" fairway, I park many holes with it every time.
team groove here
I can say this: in the Charlotte area I have found at least 10 beasts in the woods at courses and it’s my favorite disc to sell back to stores when I’m getting new ones.
Everyone would rave about how good it is.
good point to get the does throwing it. they're not all numbers-hungry like the bucks. in champion, of course.
top 5 best beginner disc
I have a pro destroyer and I love it I actually went and a new destroyer just in case I loose the other one
Nice
Your channel, you can manipulate the polls all you want. But I refused to use the destroyer for the longest because the 3 I threw I couldn't stand. I ended up accidentally getting one without a stamp and absolutely love it.
Good ones exist but they are few and far between
Barry Schultz might have a thing or two to say about the Beast being on this list.
Facts^^^^
Agreed ^^^^
Astronaut is the most understable distance driver I've found and it has had a slot in my bag for a long time which I've attempted to replace with a better plastic dist. We'll see if the originals series DD does the trick.
Everyone who voted Destroyer has never thrown a Groove. lol
I actually bag a halo destroyer😂
How does a 5 dollar difference make something "cheap"? Also destroyers are the truth. Just buy 40 or so and you'll get that one lol. Good video and pretty accurate
It’s just based on your subs. There are many types of destroyers just like eagles. And beasts require better players that can play the wind. Why even do this video? Lame
Oops ... I bag 2 of those choices and I've liked both over the years ... Innova Dragon and the Innova Beast. Each has their spot in my bag for certain throws.
The Freedom was one of my favorite drivers when I started out, I could get some real good distance with it
The Destroyer is INSANELY inconsistent. You never know what you're going to get when you buy one. It's awful.
Your big complaint for all of these discs is inconsistency. You then ignore your own poll where we all voted for worst discs. If you're just going to ignore what people say, maybe don't do polls next time.
Why would he add the most popular distance driver in the world on this list? Only noodle arms voted for it anyways, it’s the best disc ever.
@@aronziegler1814 pencil test eliminates all inconsistencies in destroyers.
"inconsistency" is something cited by people who can't consistently throw the disc in the same way. To say the Destroyer is overrated is to admit you can't throw a destroyer with any sort of confidence lol
Destroyers are amazing for stronger arms. The problem is that beginners grab them right away when they should be throwing Orcs and Roadrunners.
i love how everyone said destroyer
Hard to argue with the masses haha
Noodle arms
@@discgolfamateur8692 lol right
Kind of dumb to just ignore the results you got. You need to either actually include it or find a different way to get your list, infinte disc ratings maybe?
People love to hate on innova, I have a champion beast that has the same flight now that it had 6 years ago when I got it. Dead straight with soft fade up to 400’ for me
So this was a subscriber worst disc. And you refused to put in the disc that subscribers voted the worst. The Destroyer. Hmmm
Beast is an amazing disc. Great disc for all skill levels. Love that Halo Star Beast!
The astronaut will always have a place in my heart, cause it's the first disc I threw over 120m.
it's only anecdotal i know, but i actually aced a 200 ft hole with a cheap ol' dx destroyer on a flex shot a couple of days ago
I love the destroyer, however it truly is one of the most inconsistent from disc to disc. On the bright side, you can throw only one mold if you try enough discs. Ricky only threw destroyers, he had like 7 in his bag.
I bag 6 destroyers, best distance drive in the game!!!
And people wonder why I only throw Discraft.. consistency, consistency, consistency.
So you excluded a disc because you think its great, regardless of what people voted? Cool video
Destroyer is legit
Lol which one?!
Star champion and halo all have purpose and are great flying disc way they make this list
@@zodiackeeler9169 how far do you throw them; on a flat line?
Distance comes from timing of rotation and snap, which I'm still working hard to master, I have only been playing for my 3rd year only been working hard on my distance for past six months got the basics down first i have just recently hit the 350 mark, so straight flat 300 ish
@@zodiackeeler9169 aight.
I threw my halo destroyer for two days before the first tree hit took a huge chunk out of it and rendered it completely useless
Worst or best putters
or holy war - either way ;)
The bolt for me. Never could use that thing. It was such a challenge to fly straight.
Funny that it’s always a disc fault and not the throwers own fault. I love my destroyers.
Had a Beast and it was ok as a first disc. Switched to an MPV Wave and never looked back.
But the Innova Dragon floats....except when it doesn't. 😀
Y'all picked the worst 5 discs and had us rank them? Was there an initial poll where these 5 discs were collected by the community?
Yes they ask the question first and people get to reply with a comment, then they add every disc that is mentioned and count how many times it gets mentioned and that is how they get the top 5 and then the poll is to just rank these 5. Hope that explains it for you. 😊
He explains that in the first 30 seconds of the video 🤔
@@TEO231K Sorry, I heard that in the video but never saw the initial poll. That's my fault
I have two mentors in active and one is understabe and one is stable so u are right but I still love it
Truth about that majesty, I had an old run of their mentor and it flew like a bomb.
All these discs on 'inconsistent ' when destroyer is the king of that....
My cousin has 3 different beasts lol loves them all and they all fly different lol
Astronaut is my favorite disc bc it’s my 550 foot roller disc 🙂
Truth about these legendary disc are finally out. Fantastic video
The latitude 64 missilin I think is such a meat hook. Not good
The dragon is not a distance driver, it’s a fairway at an 8 speed.
I have an ace with the freedom and let me tell you that disc is hot garbage.
Dx beast waste of money, champ beast very nice 👍.
Freedoms are in my opinion by far the best disc DD has made. I don't use one for anything but utility shots because it's so ridiculously understable but it's my "get out of jail free card" and I wouldn't wanna go without it.
