I knew Bennie for years and he came into my architect's office and shared many stories. Unfortunately, he has reinvented his history regarding the Arizona Biltmore Hotel. Born in 1924, he would have been very young in 1928 when the Arizona Biltmore blocks were being made in BRONZE forms, not a troweled concrete mixture on wooden forms. Bennie was a great Arizona figure, but Cahill was an adobe contractor building the AZ Biltmore stables in the 1930s when Bennie was 13 or so.... Lots of tall tales associated with the Biltmore....Wright had nothing to do with the design of the face of the AZ Biltmore block! Albert Chase McArthur was the hotel architect!
