I'm just glad there's mods to have all these new modes and units! Luckily it's an old game so my computer can actually run it. Though I got it on my console for the Classic Collection especially with multiplayer now lol. But mods make this into a brand new game basically!
That’s basically just assault mode so I can see why they would have pulled it. I wouldn’t mind a clone vs Jedi hunt mode but I imagine that would be too one-sided in favor of the Jedi

@@hyjinki4886 Clone VS Jedi mode was planned. It's playable with the Battlefront Conversion Pack. Btw the outcome of these matches depends on the map and which side you're on. Like big open maps, clones have the upper hand.
Funny thing regarding the PSP versions space battles that i noticed as kid. The capital ships dont have their interiors only the hangars are included. But if you glitch your ship inside the capital ships hull, you can see that the destroyable targets for shield generators and engines are still there and you get points for destroying them.
Yeah it was weird that they cut that, even Elite Squadron had ground to space battles and Renegade Squadron had by far the best space combat in the psp games
I think Elite or Rogue squadron had this feature at least if I remember correctly. Rogue Squadron was my favourite PSP Battlefront game, even though Elite had ground to space, I much more enjoyed Rogue Squadron's gameplay.
The "Unused Sith model" is actually a EU character from the GBA star wars episode 2 tie-in games called Trenox who was Dooku's apprentice before Anakin kills him.

These are some of my favorite mods: - Battlefront 2 Remaster Project - Battlefront Extreme - Battlefront Conversion Pack - Pax Empiricae - Ansem Darkseeker Map Pack - Kashyyyk: Depot - RAS Prosecutor. Always read 'ReadME' if you don't know how to do it. Some mods don't like each other tho and the game has mission limitation. So create a folder for mods you download then pick some and add them to the game then switch etc.
2:28 They're different voices because in game development the Devs typically will have placeholder dialogue. For an example there's the Alpha Moon dialogue shown in the stream of that Halo 2 Dev Kit 343 did awhile back. Typically the placeholder dialogue is done by whoever is willing to do so in the office.
@@kabob0077 I know when I attended college of a buddy of mine who was going for game development, they were using his voice for all of the characters because he somewhat had a decent range (non of them were a good performance) until they could get voice actors. And this practice also existence in film and animation. For example Phineas and Ferb the creators did all the voice themselves in the pitch.

Man i never thought about how much the clone narration and voice overs during battles just sets the perfect tone for the game until you played the beta and the finished voice overs side by side.
The PSP port despite looking so bad, it has my favorite mode (Rogue Assasin), actually, it feels like a campaign to me in some way, using a phase 1 green colored soldier as a "Mandalorian" as a i call it felt really cool at first
Agree. Even though PSP is the worst version of this game, it is still a pretty darn good game on its own. I love playing it now. With the Vitas 2 analog sticks, it feels exactly like the console versions
@@csharp3884 Despite being the worst port of the game, I think the controls and general movement was probably the best of the PSP battlefront games, not to rag on Renegade and Elite Squadron, I loved those games, but the controls are so rough on them.
Battlefront 2 Classic Collection could literally get alot of this unused content as free content updates simular to how the Halo MCC had alot of updates like that, if Aspyr would be willing to do it
The reason the jabbas palace hunt was cut from the game was because the AI would only have access to smugglers making it virtually impossible for the AI or even the player to win cause the guards 1 hit you and 2 hit if your lucky so they scrapped it

Royal Guard was supposed to be a hero but some mods have him as a special unit. Melee unit for the Republic could have been the Clone Assassin. Many mods have him. - Jedi Sprint and Jump, - Stealth Camo - 2 arm mounted vibroblades.
If I recall correctly, that Royal Guard model is from an old Jedi Outcast mod that came out in late 2002 by someone with the username Eric Landreneau. Jedi Outcast had a bunch of models released for multiplayer made early on in the games lifespan, you can find that model in a bunch of old JK3 mods as well.
Very interesting video, seeing how much the demo had over the full release. A shame so much of that had been cut out, I can understand some of it but other modes and models should have been included.
@MandoMarsi I can understand the bigger space battles being too much for the consoles at the time, but I don't see why a Jedi vs Sith hunt mode was excluded, same with some of the heroes.
@@IllusiveMoose03 Lack of time. There was a bunch of stuff that was cut because the game had to release with ROTS. All of the cut content can be played via mods on PC or hacked console.
I don't know if anyone else mentioned it, or if you have talked about it in any other videos which I haven't seen yet, but I'll talk about it here. It concerns the Acklay. It is possible they were meant to appear outside the campaign, maybe be similar to the Gamorrean Guards in Jabba's Palace. In the custom map Ancient Research Facility, there is an Acklay on one side of the map that attacks both factions. It can be played with both eras. The clones and droids have the same responses as heard in the campaign, but what's interesting is that the imperials and rebels also have responses to the Acklay as well, despite the fact they never encountered them in the vanilla game. Maybe they were to appear on Felucia in a similar manner to the Gamorrean Guard and attack both factions?

The Imperial Guard was probably supposed to be the playable hero for the Death Star mission as their cut dialogue seems to infer they were sent by the emperor to aid in the battle. More than likely, you were supposed to take control of them and fight the Jedi towards the end of the level with them but due to time constraints especially considering that the campaign was a last-minute decision so to speak they ultimately decided to cut him but left his voice lines in the game files for fans to use.
Can confirm the farmer Luke variant is also shown in the Xbox version's game manual, despite also not making an appearance in game. Unsure if this is also the case for the PS2 version however
Yeah it’s crazy cause the unused farmboy character was inside the 2005 game manual of the battlefront but was never used until present time in 2017’s battlefront 2. It’s my favorite rendition of the character I just wish they added more to his waist equipment more accurate to a new hope. A Second close has to be his Bespin appearance.
When I was a kid playing this I always envisioned in the future a grand scale space battle mode with 3-12 capital ships in one map... and that still hasn't been created :(
They should definitely remaster the original BF2 to the Xbox series S/X and stuff, with all the cut content that couldn’t be added due to the first Xbox limitations, Like the bigger space battles

Akalay do appear outside of campaign, in both galactic conquest and instant action, bit usually only have one or two appear each match, and it's not going to happen every time. Please if you're gonna post stuff about the game, please make sure it's both honest and accurate.
I still wonder why there is so much in game footage of red/blue hangar shield lights in the campaign mission cutscenes when that feature is never used in the final game. The demo's coruscant map looks way more fun than the boring: 1. land in enemy hangar 2. blow up shields 3. blow up engines 4. blow up life support. 5. win gameplay loop. There's no way to damage the comms relay or sensor node from inside the ship like you can in the demo. Though the autotargeting is just a recycled Tantive IV prop model for all factions for some reason. Really lazy shit in the final game when they already had original models made. Maybe it was for the best that pandemic was shut down.

The farmboy Luke skin appears in the other versions’ manuals as well. Not just the PSP version.

The alternative voice on the Utapau mission is very identical to the voice of clones in the 2003 Star Wars Clone Wars micro series.
They could add all of these extras and missing things to the collection honestly

The loading bays in the trailer were so much more interesting imo (at least for the republic)

The demo's coruscant map looks way more fun than the boring: 1. land in enemy hangar 2. blow up shields 3. blow up engines 4. blow up life support. 5. win gameplay loop.
There's no way to damage the comms relay or sensor node from inside the ship like you can in the demo. Though the autotargeting is just a recycled Tantive IV prop model for all factions for some reason. Really lazy shit in the final game when they already had original models made. Maybe it was for the best that pandemic was shut down.
