I think it was mid 1965 that Glen gave me my first Ovation it was one of his autograph additions. I still have it today, God I miss that man he was such a great inspiration to my music, we all had our demons in those days. I still miss him today. sleep well my friend.

Wow! What a life. Glen came from a town that was not on the map, no indoor plumbing, no electricity, etc., and reached international super stardom.

@@emmafaulkner3380 I dont think Doctors can fix phones. You need to go to an electrical technician.....or just one of those Asian pop up stores at the mall. You know the ones they sell phone cases and accessories for phones, and they fix them too. I dont know how they do it, I think they have relatives back home in China working in the factories and they learn all the secrets of phone manufacture and repair.

Creative and brilliantly talented people are usually troubled and frustrated. I still think of him as a sweet dear person who came from a good family. I've always loved and admired him. We all make mistakes.

Excellent! This compliments his autobio that I've just finished. Thanks for posting this! Humble beginnings to 'superstar' status with all the 'trimmings' and in the end, still a humble guy, wonderful.

Thank you for posting this! I just stumbled across it "by accident." I saw the documentary of his Goodbye tour and see how horrible his end has become through Alzheimers. This is such a nice addition to the story though, cause it makes it easier to see why he might have developed Alzheimers in the first place. God bless him and his family. So cool that he got baptized right there where he nearly drowned.

I just watched his X wife on Donahue , they were married for seventeen years. She said they just grew apart around the fifteen year mark and she wanted a break apart (claimed there wasn't another woman ) she turned 36 and felt like she needed time to find herself. Seventeen years, four kids was a long run 🎶 . She was still single at the time of the interview...I think Glenn became a womanizer... on here he sounds like he was searching for stability in all the wrong places.
He was 44 Tanya was 20 ..blaming her was just sad..

It was no doubt that alcohol and cocaine and Other Drugs that destroyed his neurons and gave him the awful Alzheimer's in the end of his life... Sad

In the bad old days before birth control, they just couldn't resist making 12 hungry mouths to feed even when they were as poor as dirt.

Ha ha ha, lol. Sorry, that comment struck me so funny, because I know the mindset that worries that the world is over populated. What are you talking about? We're still poor as dirt. An old saying goes, "it is a rich child that sits in a poor mother's lap."

    • @BrownEyedGirl331

What if they would not have had Glen? It is so sad so many consider children almost a "liability", to be avoided instead of the blessings that they are.
