      Well it better be a good one. Nascar scripted a few races this year. Steve parks win at Rockingham the week after Dale's death, Park never did well at any race rest of year let alone have a chance to win and yet magically, he pulls off a win well after death of teammate where the whole work force for RCR would have been no wear near top of their game, they somehow pull a win off on a track that team rarely had success at doesn't make sense.
      Harvicks first win that was made to look like Dale's win last year, they even picked their golden boy Gordon to make sure the job got done right and play up the story of Dale's rival Gordon got beat by the new kid driving Dale's car, so Dale must have been in heaven and made Gordon's car get loose off of 4 ,to setup a photo finish and one of the greatest and closest finishes in history.
      And if course the biggest staged moment in sports. Juniors win at Daytona in July. Gotta give it to Nascar back then. They knew how to put on a show and knew what make headlines.

      @@thomasc.5219 A scripted race? Bowyer purposely spun in 2013 Richmond race got penalized, why would NASCAR penalized Bowyer if he can make an interesting playoff season? Harvick is great driving in Atlanta. You think 2014 Phoenix race was scripted? And Dale jr "scripted" Daytona win in July? You're not seeing how much wins does Dale jr has in a superspeedway? Nascar is not rigged. Bruv

      @@kartomadenegara5202 I don't like saying "rigged" but when races have historical significance I think NASCAR wants them to go with what's popular with the majority fan base. Johnson's last race at Phoenix this year was the passing of the torch to NASCAR's most popular driver Chase Elliott. No wonder he went from last to 1st place in the first 40 laps. Its easy to do in a sport that's so mechanically dependent.

    This was the first NASCAR race I had attended or even watched. I was told to pick a driver so I chose Gordan. What a race it turned out to be! Needless to say, I was hooked at this point and became a NASCAR fan. One thing to note is that there were people crying in the stands at the end of the race. As I was new to NASCAR and did not understand the impact of Harvick's win, all I knew was my guy finished second. Looking back it is cool to know I witnessed a part of NASCAR history.

    Even thought my husband and I had watched every televised Cup race since the early 80's, I didn't want to after Dale died. But the rest of 2001 racing season almost felt like it had Dale's hand guiding the drivers sometimes. Steve Park's win, Dale Jr's win, Harvick's win, almost seemed like reassurance that racing goes on.

    • @the_elmeister
      @the_elmeister Рік тому +3

      Jeff Gordon has such an amazing heart. God bless him. I never understood why people booed, Jeff. He was not a sore loser ever but he would express ways that he was not happy with somebody, but Jeff is probably one of the most humble drivers I’ve ever known. Even though Jeff can be a hothead. Sometimes, he’s one of the rarest people to piss off, and Jeff is such a humble individual and usually when he’s pissed with somebody he usually makes it up to them later. I love Jeff, he’s awesome. Jeff Gordon is also known as one of the biggest inspirations in NASCAR history. He’s the one that really helps get the Renaissance going for the young guns in NASCAR. Just look at Jimmie Johnson. Jeff Gordon is definitely directly responsible for the success of Matt Kenseth, Jimmie, Johnson, Tony Stewart, and more. God bless his soul. I want to see Gordon race in SRX in the future. There is a reason why Jeff is one of the most loved individuals in Motorsports.
