  • (Level: ALL) Now I'm back to my regular winter/fall programing, I thought starting the season with a DIY would be awesome. After all, with the holidays fast approaching, many would like to craft and make some cool gift things. In this DIY Beauty Kitchen episode, I am showing how to make your very own homemade Eyeliner Pencil from scratch. Version 2 will be how to make it semi-homemade using a pre-made base, and version 3 is how to turn your fave gel liner to a pencil. Enjoy!

Who’s watching in 2021? ✨🙌I am so glad to find your video during this time. I miss this kind of videos, less editing and super detailed explanation and normal talking lol most tutorials nowadays they talked super fast. I’m am pursuing my makeup artistry in an Airbrush level. I have stumbled into your video about creating a mixing medium and now I can’t stop watching your videos.

Hi Koren, we realise you probably have covered every makeup ‘how to’ topic under the sun, but your fans would still love to hear your opinions on the latest trends and products. It would be wonderful to see an occasional video from you. Please. Please!

rule of thumb is, the more wax content, the more it stays. but you have to find the right balance as too much renders the pencil too hard, and hard to glide on skin. Too much oil means smudging, and renders the pencil too soft, but creamier to apply. This recipe is just in between as I want it hard enough to stay but creamy enough to glide like silk.

I love this!!! I actually bought some empty pencils and then realized I didn't have the darndest idea on how to get the stuff inside them! I knew a lot of the methods I was finding on how to fill just would not work for exactly the reasons you described, so I just gave up and stuck them in a box :-/ You have renewed my spirit to do this, thank you :-) Thanks for your videos and all you do, I really appreciate your sharing your expertise with the rest of us.

Loved the video and learning how to do this. The one thing I would like to have seen is if the eyeliner smudged easily or if it dries to a finish that doesn't smudge or slide.

Oxides and FD&C Dyes stay true as it actually colors each ingredient int he mixture. Micas can look sheer depending on the ratio as the powder particles only suspends on the mixture, but looks colored to the naked eye.

Joy Marriott Finally!! Someone had that in mind. I did the same thing like 6 months ago. But I tried to make a lip liner pencil I sharpened it and used it. I WAS THE BEST THING I EVER DID. It was just like a lip liner that they made at a factory. But free and better.

depends on whats in that particular MAC pigment. If its a lot of fillers and just mica, then it wont stick to the lips. If it's mainly Oxides and Lake Dyes, then those will stick to the lips.

Koren, I just have to tell you that you have the most perfectly adorable nose I've ever seen. Seriously, I wish MY nose was that cute! You have the most compelling face with tons of character, warm, friendly, "puckish" eyes and perfect ears. Wrap it all up with that dynamic personality, and your adorable nose is like the bow on the birthday present! Do you realize what a unique, fantastic face you have?
I've learned so much from you - thank you for sharing your talents with us!

Thank you for sharing. Really appreciate you showing us how easy it is and the method. Just wanted to point out that the recipe is way too soft and smudges easily and gives raccoon eyes. Is there a better recipe or suggestion on what can be done to make it smudge less? ~Thanks

the pencils are plastic - so acrylic paints works on them. Consider non-toxic acrylic paints if you decide to take that extra step of deco-ing the pencils

Hi Koren, On those gel liners that get dried out, I saw a video that said that you fix them by putting them in the microwave for a VERY short time and that restores them. Once they dry out again you do the same procedure again. I have not tried it though, so I don't know if it does work or not.
