I don't think having to buy TWW1 for the expanded campaign is a reasonable criticism for the game. I shouldn't criticise sequels for not including the original, even if it is an expanadalone.
Can you play all races in single player custom battles right now - if you own both games
No you can't. Not til Mortal Empires is released
I would love a Total War Warhammer 40k. But Im not sure I trust them to make it properly.
Fuck that i'l wait for a sale.
CA said few months ago that they will merge TW: Warhammer 1 and 2 into one game few weeks after launch in one major patch after they see how TW: Warhammer 2 does at launch. So everybody who was waiting for the game knew that. So its not problem at all. You either buy it now or wait for a month and buy the game then.
I know they said that for me it's still unacceptable to not have it be a launch feature. Just because they said that a few months ago does not change the years of saying the opposite. TW Warhammer 2 is an amazing game but it doesn't feel complete which is an issue on launch for the amount of money consumers are spending.
That said, I am fully aware that it is not an issue for some people and that's fine. Not saying people should have my opinion or they're wrong. Just stating my issues in my review.
also iirc they always said its more of a bonus campaign for previous owner and not realyl the main selling point
I would disagree with that, when the first announced Total War Warhammer as a franchise, they made a huge deal about the trilogy being a combined expanding game.
The trilogy being combined is important however getting it right is far more important then rushing it out, to me at least...
Whilst I agree it would have been nice to have the grand campaign on release the simple fact we know it's not far off should dampen some of this negativity.
Imo reviews slating it as 4 dlc races for the price of 8 is massive overstatement and quite frankly a comical maths fail, bear in mind tww:2 can currently be bought for under £33 UK, this also includes the free Norsca dlc for tww:1 which is a great bonus and will eventually be playable in the grand campaign on tww:2.
Provided we're given some quality free (and paid) dlc like in the first, I for one will be a happy man.
The character stuff is simply a return to the days of Medieval II. Plus chivalry and negative chivalry traits with side stat changes. Plus loyalty and minus loyalty traits with side effects. Retainers and traits based on what buildings are in a city and actions taken ...
Makes me even more skeptical, WH1/TW is already bad about DLC, (blood, chaos), now theyre taking features from old games and selling it as brand new and call it unique to a race instead of integrating it as a game feature. At this rate youll have to wait for wh3, spend about $300 and then you finally get the actual game.
