Trust me brother that’s not what you have to be scared about. Plenty of other responsibilities and set backs come ur way as you age. Live ur life as much as possible right now. As cheesy as it sounds you’ll rlly miss it when you look back at the times where you were young
What an amazing guy. There was actually a lot of cool topics brought up during this video. At one point Sunless says something along the lines of, "The next generations will be merged through gaming." Which is really eye opening for me. The last 2 or 3 generations grew up with gaming, and gaming isn't going to leave our lives, so the next generations can connect through gaming, unlike the mid-20th century generations (generally) My favorite wholesome moment of this video had to be when Sunless gave the guy the alpha cap. He had no idea what it was, so he probably doesn't know about it's value either, but the gesture meant more to him than the tangible value of the item. Just overall this guy's logical process is so smart, that maybe if he doesn't want to stream, or doesn't have time for that, he should make some type of Rocket League/Gaming podcast. He could talk about one of his passions, and I think the audience would be a very large spectrum. From older people interested in gaming, to teens and young adults seeking life wisdom. I know that I'd definitely tune in. Loved the Vid!
Hell yes! I'd love to hear and see more from Vapor, podcasting is a comfortable way to get into it. (also I think for conversational content it is the way to go)
When he talked about having cancer and how that changed his outlook on life and how he doesn't get upset about things in his daily life let alone rocket league, it really hit me. I've been getting extremely frustrated at some members of my family for not being decent human beings and I really needed to hear this.
Facts I’m 21 years old and had cancer at 11 and I rarely ever get mad at the game. When he was speaking about how he felt I knew what he was going to say before he said it.
This video was so heartwarming. We as a rocket league community should tell rocket league to give this man a in game item. I respect this man so much for sticking with gaming.
This was so wholesome, I got emotional for a bit when he mentioned that there's nothing to be upset about because life's too short to be mad and upset with anything, even the smallest thing. This man is amazing, I love his personality similar to me as well.

I have a tear in my eye. What a beautiful human being. My gaming buddy passed away just last year, he was only 31. We played rocket league quiet a bit and since his passing, I find it sad playing rocket league. All I know is, he's up there, still not the best player and still sucking at flip resets. Tom, I miss you and for the love of God make sure you have that 2nd controller ready for when I see you again some day on the field ❤️
Vapor, one of the wisest people I can think of, and he can be wise, funny, awesome, and kind all at once, while not even breaking a sweat, what a great guy!
I would 100% watch this guys stream! He could have high level players come on and coach him, and he could give his old man wisdom out to people, I'd sub to that in a heartbeat.
Good god, this was one of the best videos I've seen in a long time. Bravo. I love this guy's personality/perspective. And a C64 developer in '84? The cherry on top.
This was great. As someone that would be considered an "old gamer" it was cool to see there's still people out there enjoying the game that are older than I am who feel the same way about RL and games in general. I wish everyone would have the same attitude as he does, the game would be a lot more fun if it wasn't full of toxic teammates.
I'm 51 on Xbox so some would say I have 2 disadvantages but it's okay. My highest rank has been plat3. There needs to be a club for old rocket league players. I'd join that in a second.
I thought I was on the older side of RL players but it seems like there's a lot of players older then me out there. I'm 40 and hover around low GC in 2s, don't really play 3s

Content like this is why Sunless will always be my favourite Rocket League UA-camr of all time, he just has an unprecedented ability to connect with the community. Listening to Carl's personality and life experiences, just observing how his wisdom transcends generations, was enlightening. I hope to be as insightful and lively as this man if I ever reach his age. Hearing him call Sunless "son" at the end was also very endearing. Just goes to show that hobbies and passions even as recent as video games can still transcend generations.
Dude, I've played this game since launch and I'm now 35! I've often thought I'm too old for this game now, all these young ones are just too good but man this guy has inspired me to just keep doing what I love, Thanks Alpha Cap! ;P and thank you Sunless for another great Video :)
A while ago i was talking to my friends about how the game wont ever truly die because anybody of any age can easily understand and enjoy it. This video is proof of that. Thank you Sunless!

Idk how Im just watching this video. But I hope dude is still grinding, what a fine example of what games can offer the older generation. Most older folks these days don't get the opportunity to be entertained, flex their competitive muscle, and meet and communicate with others on a daily basis. Man I'm so excited for the future of gaming.
After playing since release, the new season really has me down on RL. This made me want to keep playing it. I'd 100% sub to his stream. We need more of this guy in the community.
This was such an inspirational, wholesome, motivational and just an amazing video, will be definitely watching the lad’s stream, if the timezone is ok 😄 but yeah, what a video that was, I had a smile through all 12 minutes.
Loved hearing Vapor talk about the game, made my day for real. His genuine love for the game reminds me of my appreciation for Rocket League. Hope he finds some help to make his streaming dreams come true.
Fantastic! Thanks for doing that, Sunless. I'm 56, and I've got something like 1,000 hours in. I play 3v3 solo cue almost exclusively, and live the dream in mid-gold (hit plat twice this past season though!). Like Vapor says, the reaction time isn't what it once was, so you you need to be more predictive. It takes MUCH longer to move up the rank ladder. I'm a decent possession player, a good passer, can make a save when called upon, and score my fair share. I'll MVP maybe 15-20% of the time, although that has little to do with winning. Like Vapor, I'm older than 99% of the community, and it is fun for me to play teenagers who have no idea the guy who just smoked them is at least as old as their dad.
I’m with him, I had a friend who told me I’d like the game. Every time I’d say no or I don’t think I’d like it. Free to play comes around and I grind the absolute heck out of the game.
40 seconds in. I want more of this guy. Half way in. Make him a regular on the channel. By the end of the video: Sunless... Just give him your channel, it's over we have the new voice of fun rocket league!

I'm currently on my lunch break at work, and to be honest, have not been super productive today, but I want to be, I just have not had the motivation or mental capacity. But now I can say that I do. This older gentlemen is an inspiration! An incredible human being with an incredible outlook on life and gaming. Vapor, keep on keepin' on and thank you for the motivation! Sunless, thank you for yet again, another awesome video!

Reminds me of my grandpa. He still plays games like DCS, Microsoft Flight sim, or even Metroid Dread. And he loves tinkering with classic cars, restoring some of them too. I love him! He's been an inspiration to my life. Even though he's a lot more reserved and quiet like me sometimes I can have a fun conversation with him. Like when he saw me playing Super Metroid on my switch for the first time he goes and pulls out the good old super Nintendo and shows me his old save! Elderly gaming always makes me happy to see. I had to have my grandpa teach me how to fly a couple aircrafts in DCS after giving me his old Thrust master Cougar HOTAS.

What an amazing guy. There was actually a lot of cool topics brought up during this video. At one point Sunless says something along the lines of, "The next generations will be merged through gaming." Which is really eye opening for me. The last 2 or 3 generations grew up with gaming, and gaming isn't going to leave our lives, so the next generations can connect through gaming, unlike the mid-20th century generations (generally)
My favorite wholesome moment of this video had to be when Sunless gave the guy the alpha cap.
We have to get rocket grandpa on a podcast asap!

When he talked about having cancer and how that changed his outlook on life and how he doesn't get upset about things in his daily life let alone rocket league, it really hit me. I've been getting extremely frustrated at some members of my family for not being decent human beings and I really needed to hear this.

This was great. As someone that would be considered an "old gamer" it was cool to see there's still people out there enjoying the game that are older than I am who feel the same way about RL and games in general.
