Dodge messed up when they gave people time to think because most car buying is done impulsively. But if you give a person time to think then 6 times of 10 they will change their minds.

Exactly right. Now only did they have time to think about payments and such, but they also got to see a boatload of racing videos where the 392s and hellcats were getting beat bad. Before 2020 I swear you couldn’t convince a dodge owner that they could lose to a Chevy or Ford. Also the crime associated with Dodges makes it too risky now.

OC Motivator is absolutely correct. Dealers don’t take you seriously unless you’re prepared to buy that day. Go to your bank or credit union first and know your best financing deal so when they try and screw you on the interest rate you know what should be offered. Refuse to pay markups and the add on game like paint protection theft protection etc. You don’t need that junk. Plus if your paying cash for God’s sake don’t tell them. When they ask how you are going to pay just say you’re willing to see what the finance officer has to offer you. And when they ask what your payment should be tell them as low as possible.

Fact is mark up is a negotiation tactic now it’s to make you feel like your getting a great deal, banks won’t loan more then the cars worth excluding tax, lic, reg so you have to put more cash down, the dealerships are also paying huge rates on their floor plan after 60 days. I was just at Tuttle Click in Irvine picking up my wagoneer and they have the most Challengers I have ever seen most with a $20k mark up. No matter what never pay markup on anything no matter what you pay for it in the back end trust me, and Never, never go in to a dealership and buy the car, everything is done via text and email and all you should care about is the total OTD price never payments, only 2 reasons you physically go to a dealership is to test drive and NOT buy, and the 2nd time to sign the deal that’s it…

That's a damn shame the way they mark cars up. To me, it's crazy that you'd have to go into a car dealership and "negotiate" them to sell it at sticker. My problem is that multiple times I would go into a dealership and they would try to play me for stupid and I always did my homework before going but now I don't deal with dealerships anymore because they ruined it for me. I could see if we could actually drive the cars the way they were designed to be driven.

This is a great video, informing people about mark ups on cars. Other manufactures have done this so many times with other sports cars Corvettes , and others ,we all have to think about something if no one is unwilling to pay ridiculously over sticker price cars they’re not gonna be able to sell them and they’ll have no choice to lower the price of the car ,, Everyone has to hold tight and stand strong be patient and don’t be impulsive , which I understand I’m a total gearhead and I can be very impulsive, these are incredible cars and they know it !! The collectors are going to want one , the racers are going to want one along with gearheads racers like myself ,, we, the people are the ones that are gonna dictate the gouging of these cars. Brad, great video. Thank you for sharing these stories of your conversation/comments from your subscribers. They played the game so very well, exactly what you have been saying for the past several months. The law of supply and demand is now swinging to the consumer’s favor. Let’s be honest, interest rates are not coming down anytime soon and may even rise. The educated consumer who is patient will make very good deals as more of these cars show up on dealer lots by the end of the year and just sit there because the people that purchased these cars on impulse in the past paying these ridiculous markups can’t do it. I want a Redeye Challenger Widebody, but I won’t allocate a nickel over what I originally budgeted or would be willing to spend for a car in this economic climate. That money has to go to better investment opportunities, and not to a car that, unless it’s your Demon 170, won’t be worth more than you originally paid for it. Stay strong my friends, your patience will soon be rewarded. In any event, you won’t make a serious financial mistake that will hurt you and your family. I’m a Mopar guy, and I love these cars, but not to the point of economic hardship. Keep these videos coming Brad, as they are a great source of information and reality checks that people need to have. The videos are very cool too, can’t forget the entertainment value.

But, because of you sir, I picked up a 2023 RAM TRX Havoc edition just two days ago! I had to go way out of my state for it, but, it was worth it! I was able to land the tuck for just under $76,000! The dealership I dealt with was great all the way around! After months and months of research, I feel as though for the price I got the truck and with only eleven miles on it, I made out very well! Don’t forget people don’t want to buy a car that is highly likely to be targeted for crimes and used to commit crimes. Also people really got a chance to see that after 2019 dodge didn’t have the fastest cars anymore and it still looks exactly the same as a 2015 but the price is significantly higher. The looks part isn’t a bad thing because honestly the challenger and charger 392s and hellcats can have that body style forever and I’d think they were still some of the coolest looking and sounding cars. Others don’t feel that way. The interior is nice but they don’t even offer racing seats of any kind as an option. Also the aftermarket for dodge just can’t compare to anyone they compete against. Now people that had 392s and hellcats drive zl1s, modded SS camaros and modded 5.0s.

I got extremely lucky last week. Happened to check the dodge main site to see if any challengers in a config I could live with were coming to any local dealers. Sure enough saw one was headed to a dealer I had previously visited, but they had nothing coming during the visit. When to the dealer the next day with the print out, and was like I want this, I have a 2015 for trade. The sales guy was surprised, he had no knowledge of anything coming in, but check on his end and saw that yeah, they had the car I was looking at it coming in for delivery in Oct. Turns out, I saw the car online just a few hours after it hit the system, the owner of the dealership, knew about this (he'd been allocated the car), and had intended to mark it up $20-30k. But since I was already there and paperwork was started, they didn't try and screw me around, so I got it at sticker. Probably helps it was an allocated car vs one they had ordered, and they already have 2 hellcats that have been collecting dust, and their lot is full of trucks and jeeps right now.

We have to keep in mind the raw materials that go into these cars. I was speaking with a friend that sells steel. The majority of the steel being purchased in this country was coming from the Ukraine. Well, that market has nearly dried up and no one wants China steel. So the price of steel has gone cuckoo-cuckoo. I view the current muscle Mopar cars like the Plymouth Roadrunner of the 1960's. The Roadrunners are gone! They are all discontinued/ orphaned and is one of the reasons no one is buying what they do have. They stopped production of the most popular 4 door sedan in the world. There won't be any EV versions. And, what they have right now is severely limited as to options available.
