In this video I apply my Patina technique to the new iPhone 13 Golden Brown leather case. Let me know what you think of this case after the patina is applied!

I had the saddle brown leather case on my iPhone 6S for the past 5 years and it developed a beautiful patina. So happy to see that this new golden brown can get a sweet patina too! Fantastic video and looking forward to seeing more. Just purchased the iPhone 13 and would LOVE to have this beauty on it!
Hey Kim, do you think Sequoia green leather case for iPhone 13 will look good with natural wear?
I really appreciate how you precisely sanded around the apple logo. It really makes the logo pop after doing patina. I’ve had my golden brown case for a few weeks only. I’m thinking of doing this. Or I might just wait until the natural patina starts to look ugly and then do this.

I wasn’t going to get the golden brown case because I’m not a fan of how orange it looked in pictures. But truthfully that patina job looks pretty good and it will darken a bit more over time. I kind of wish they made the Taupe color they had a few years ago. Great video thanks.

Can I use petroleum jelly as an alternative for the leather balm?
Out of curiosity, do you feel the 13 Golden Brown will withstand use better than the iPhone 12 cases? I’ve used the old Saddle Brown cases and was quite pleased with them. However, the poor wear on the iPhone 12 cases (edges) are making me consider returning the Golden Brown case before I start using it. Great videos btw!
Looks great! You said in the video that the case feels a little different than the 12 cases. Are you going to take a new case and test the patina without sanding it?
I was a bit skeptical on getting this case for my 13 pro due to the reviews on it looking a bit orange and not brown but just tried this same method and I am very please out how natural and worn it looks now and not orange looking.

Thank you so much! If it help the TipTop product contains bees wax, coconut oil and lanolin(oil made from sheeps wool).

It is pretty much the same on the new cases altho there is no saddle brown color anymore.

I did something similar once, with my saddle brown case. It barely survived 😄 apple logo almost flattened after sanding.
Thanks for this amazing hack! I bought the Saddle brown case for Iphone 12 mini last year and was disappointed to know that it will not patina. But with this hack I am loving the case now. Hoping to get my hands on the Iphone 13 case now.

I think Apple fix it this year. The case does not feel as plastic as the 12 but feel more like the 11 as on hand. I think they will patina normally but no Saddle brown anymore 🥲🥲

The leather is going to be very thin, so I'm not sure why you would want to sand it!

What balm is that you put on the case ?
It is a Swedish brand called TipTop, not sure if it is available outside sweden but it is only natual stuff in it. Says on the box you can even eat it in small quantities 😅.

Patina with sandpaper? Is this a joke? The patina develops over time with careful care during use, not with sanding or scraping. Many fools will watch this video and ruin their expensive leather case….

I got the max so no giveaway but this is another great demonstration. I think that lighter color is going to steer me toward the bullstrap leather case. A little more money but they look like a nice alternative!

Hi Kim, quick question. I did this on my case today. I’m very happy with the all in all results. But I can see a light circle around the Apple logo like where the magnet is underneath. Did I do it too much or do I need to sand it down in that area a bit more? Thanks.

Look great, to me it just looks like that area needs some more sanding. Strange that it is so concentrared around the magnets 😊. But go slow, I can be wrong as it is hard to see on a picture alone. Maybe use it a few daus and wipe wirh some alco wipes every now and then can help also!
