I have a question when you use an interface such as this does it work as the sound card after you hook it up? Or do you still need to use your computer sound card for day-to-day activity
It depends, if you plan on never disconnect then you would need to set it as default sound device on your OS (windows) for it to be used by all software, if you don't do that then some software will still use the sound card but some DAWs will pick up this when launched, you also need to specify which driver you will use, for example with FL you can choose between FL ASIO (FL will choose this by default) or ASIO4ALL
This POS died on me after 3 months. It just stopped sending signal to DAW (I tried it on Pro Tools and Audacity). I can hear my bass and the playback in my headphones but it just doesn't record anything. I tried in on 2 PCs - same issues. NOT recommended.
Hey man, I am using old M AUdio fast track and I witness some random screetches / noises when playing the content, music, on the web. I have feeling it started with W10 (got it for more than ten years I guess?) I wonder if this new would be ok. Using unshield Tannoy Reveals with phones output from the card 3,5 jack of 5m long cable. Problem does ot occur if put in PC sound outputs. Thanks all for advices.
Can you cover things like the digital interference you're talking about. I'm having an issue with my scarlet solo right now and my gut said its interference. but I'm not smart enough to know if its digital interference, electrical or just a noisy mic. any extra knowledge helps. keep the vids coming.
Question sir, pls. help.. i want to record guitar to my computer(with daw) i have a multieffects with usb output is this enough to transfer my sounds without sound degradation? or i need to buy a separate audio interface? whats the difference between usb output of multieffects v.s audio interface? thank you.
im getting this loud high pitched screeching noise whenever im using the device with guitar and bass, do you know a way to reduce this? cause im going deaf
You always say to check the doobly do, but I never see anything in the description, lol. I was just curious because my gain has to be set way higher for me to get a decent volume from my mic.
I have an M-Track Solo and can't find any real gripes. For $50 you know it isn't going to be a Focusrite Scarlett Solo. But for the average podcaster or single-instrument player looking to get sound into their DAW (mine's Reaper), it's a good deal. The 1/8" headphone jack and USB-B screams PC, and the two RCA jacks in the back just beg to be hooked up to your vintage 90's Technics tuner-amp with a set of fat JBL speakers...but that's one of the reasons I bought it. It's plasticky and the knobs are a little wobbly, but it does the trick for cheap
I have m audio bx4 monitors and 2496 interface. When i listen to music or mixing, i dont hear any differance between 2496 and onboard interface. I had steinberg ur12, it aint big deal too. Which one you prefer to me, audient id4, native komplete 1 or m audio maybe. I wanna feel it. Worth it to pay :)
I’m only speculating but I’d say cost. The older configs could still be considered cheaper than modern USB-C or Micro B solutions to manufacture, and it’s clear here M-Audio is trying get the best they can for the cheapest price.
Hello, Hope you can help me with something. Why does the audio go way lower when I connect the headset to the back output vs the jack in the front? Is there anyway to fix it? Thanks
Hello, thanks for this review. I have a question that you might know the answer to. Could this unit be used for allowing 2 microphones to be used simultaneously as an audio input for video conferencing such as zoom? Will both channels be mixed together, or under audio devices do I have to choose channel 1 or 2? Any information is appreciated thanks in advance.
It is possible to connect a microphone into the line input, however I don't think it will sound the same as the microphone input. Bottom line, it's technically possible but probably won't be as efficient
My gain signal keep showing red light since the first time i plugged to the usb. And the result input is distorted. The gain control doesnt help it always on red light. Anyone can help?

Any help would be greatly appreciated on how to figure out how to get rid of this white noise!
I have a question when you use an interface such as this does it work as the sound card after you hook it up? Or do you still need to use your computer sound card for day-to-day activity
It depends, if you plan on never disconnect then you would need to set it as default sound device on your OS (windows) for it to be used by all software, if you don't do that then some software will still use the sound card but some DAWs will pick up this when launched, you also need to specify which driver you will use, for example with FL you can choose between FL ASIO (FL will choose this by default) or ASIO4ALL
@@germanher7528 thank you very much I think I will let the sound card do a majority of the work then
appriciate the "loud audio countdown" warning :D
I didn't want to hurt someone's ears. Glad it's appreciated. Thank you for watching, I hope you have a great day.
Hey, friend 😊
Do you know if it needs a driver to function? Want to use it on the PS4 like the behringer
The best emoji you will ever find in your life is on 4:07 😂 I’m having a stomachache because of how much I laughed 🤣
On thomann website it said 24 bit 48 khz, I thought it will an upgrade from um2 since UM2 is only 16 bit.
What's the better choice between this and the UMC-22?
xtuga is better 35 €
Great review;-)
Can you cover things like the digital interference you're talking about. I'm having an issue with my scarlet solo right now and my gut said its interference. but I'm not smart enough to know if its digital interference, electrical or just a noisy mic. any extra knowledge helps. keep the vids coming.
How much difference between48 khz and 192 khz. Does it matter Or not please reply.
The M in M-Audio stands for MARGARETTI. Fun fact.
Wait that's Patrick haha

Behringer umc22 vs m-track solo? Which one is better?
The jump in gain is interesting.
Wanted to gift the Behringer to a friend, but I think I will go for the M Audio interface
I was gonna get a axe I/o but due to needing a new guitar Ive had to lower the price in a interface, thank you for this review
6:40 Bandrew would absolutely ANNIHILATE a guitar solo of "Zombie"
The digital multimeter is a nice touch. Very technical.
It's the only "technical" thing I do in interface reviews compared to Julian. Haha.

Great video! Why would a brand new device designed for use in 2021 come with USB A/B configuration?
I’m only speculating but I’d say cost. The older configs could still be considered cheaper than modern USB-C or Micro B solutions to manufacture, and it’s clear here M-Audio is trying get the best they can for the cheapest price.
Hi I have a problem with m track solo. The signal keeps showing in Red light instead of green Can you please help me?
Hey man, old video but a quick question none the less. Is it class compliant in that I can stream directly into my Galaxy s22 Ultra, and alike? Thanks
Are we sure those knobs aren't really joysticks with the way they moved around?
Hello,
Hope you can help me with something.
Why does the audio go way lower when I connect the headset to the back output vs the jack in the front?
Is there anyway to fix it?
Thanks
Just a quick question: why do you always use the nt1 for audio interface reviews?
It's a mic a lot of people have.
@@AnnaVannieuwenhuyse ya I guess
Hello, thanks for this review. I have a question that you might know the answer to. Could this unit be used for allowing 2 microphones to be used simultaneously as an audio input for video conferencing such as zoom? Will both channels be mixed together, or under audio devices do I have to choose channel 1 or 2? Any information is appreciated thanks in advance.
It is possible to connect a microphone into the line input, however I don't think it will sound the same as the microphone input. Bottom line, it's technically possible but probably won't be as efficient
That's because the gain control knob on the line input is meant for muscial instruments, mostly guitars
Very informative
My gain signal keep showing red light since the first time i plugged to the usb. And the result input is distorted. The gain control doesnt help it always on red light. Anyone can help?
Great review, Bandrew, as always. At 0:48 you said that the gain was set for "noon". How do we know that it wasn't set for "midnight" instead for "noon"? :)
