    This is exactly the kind of lesson that I was looking for. I’m a 63 year old Australian dad with a daughter who lives in France. When I visit my daughter, I want to be able to speak like the locals speak. I don’t want to sound like a text book.
    I’m working through your excellent Verb Conjugation and Grammar courses. They are great ! 👍

      Graham this is such a great goal! You should check out my playlist called French Speaking Practice, that could really help you with your pronunciation :)

    I am still a beginner. I am wondering if I learnt all these and sound like a French native speaker. And all of a sudden, people think I speak French fluently and talk to me as fast as a rifle, I would be embarrassed to tell them I just started learning French! 😂

    In Québec, we even contract "sur" to "s" or "su"
    "T'as une tache s' ta ch-mise"
    Lovely video!

    2:14 I also speak German, and I noticed that when you say "colis", it sounds like "kolich". Is this a regional thing to make the final "is" sound like the German "ich"?

    • @TheperfectfrenchwithDylane
      @TheperfectfrenchwithDylane  3 роки тому +1

      You have a good ear ;) i don’t think it’s a regional thing because all the French speakers I know from different countries/areas do this as well, especially with the final i or final u. A bit like a whisper if that makes sense?

    Thank you Dylana. It's good practice to say what is useful for test and what is informal use. During studying French I compare it with English, which also widely distributed. And as I see things is that English reminds me exact sciences, while French mostly looks like history, everybody represent it from his/her own perspective. Plus, French suffer from adaptation for every region. All this make it a bit complicated to study it. But I am not going to give up. Thanks again 👍🔥🌹

      I agree Asif, even where I grew up we have a slightly different French. This is why I really try to tell people to not focus on Parisian French. Even if it's the most common, it's only one city, it would be missing so much of other parts of the world to focus only on this one.

    This has been a lot of fun and brings back memories for me and the year I spent in France back in the stone ages! Your videos address all of the questions I had when I was studying French, which none of my profs ever explained.
    I think it's common in most languages that we "smoosh" our words together. I've explained this to friends here in the U.S. with this example: I might say "Wuhdja think of that?" when I mean to say, "What did you think of that?"
    On a separate note, perhaps you can explain why many would add on an "ahn" at the end of sentences when speaking. For example, if I were to ask someone a somewhat obvious question, they might respond, "Bah oui, anh!" And what's with the "Bah"? Thanks!

    • @TheperfectfrenchwithDylane
      @TheperfectfrenchwithDylane  2 роки тому

      Tom sorry I totally missed your comment! Bah and hein and just filler words that we use, it also depends on the area in France and in other French speaking countries. Think of it as the Canadian "eh" 🙂
