This is a part one video so let me know if you have a question so I can include it in my video next week 🙂
In example 5, I said TU VEUX, but on the screen, it's VOUS VOULEZ. Sorry for that!
    Thanks for watching ❤️

Thank you for the video. You're really stick to the point in every session. Very succinct, very easy to digest.
One thing for this particular, in example 5, you say "tu veux" in the video, but it display vous voulez in the screen. If you can make a note on it, that would be great.
    Thank you again.

FYI...I am passing many of your videos to my beginner college French students as additional help for the concepts we are studying, like est-ce que and qu'est ce que, as well as for help with pronunciation from a native French speaker.
As a native English speaker teaching French, I tell my students to literally translate "est-ce que" as "is it that..."
Even though English speakers rarely use that construction for asking a question, it does make sense in English, and it helps my English speaking students to know when to use and how to translate est-ce que.
    Example:
Est-ce que tu viens ce soir? = Is it that you are coming this evening? = Are you coming this evening?

I had an incredible English teacher who never made me feel bad for barely understanding anything in English. All he said is that one day, I will get it. He was right. I had to wait until I was 26 years old but one day I was just ready!
If you don't understand something, just move on, one day you will get it ;)

Wow, I have to say this is THE best explanation ever! Love your teaching style in the slow buildup of the concept. I like the way you summarize everything at the end and teach us correct pronunciation. The timing is perfect for the back arrow: two presses and it goes right back to the beginning of the sentence to practice the pronunciation again. By the end of the video not only did I understand the material but could pronounce it like a native. Thanks so much and Happy New Year!

This was such a great lesson!! Thank you! I'm wondering whether the "est-ce que" inversion can also be used to ask about a location--in some videos I listened to, people said this inversion is used when asking yes-no questions, but I know "où est-ce qui" exists. If I wanted to ask my friend "where are you now?", could I say "Où est-ce que vous êtes maintenant?" Maybe that wouldn't work. Merci beaucoup et bonne journée. :)

One more thing as per your Instagram I see you love traveling so we really love to see you in future with your traveling vlog channel. Anyway I have 112 lesson (UA-cam video) of yours which I have to watch on loop to understand it so I have a lots of syllabus to cover-up.

It will be 2 videos a week until I start my 2 other projects, which are my podcast and my channel about living in Canada. It won't be a traveling vlog exactly, something in between, but hopefully it will be as interesting 🙂
Currently I am working on a new book and on a course, once the 2 of them are done and launched, I start everything else 😉

great video! I've always wondered if "est-ce que" is just a formal way to ask questions or not. can you clarify if there's no difference of asking with est-ce que tu parles francais and parles-tu francais? if it's just optional? merci beaucoup!

    • @TheperfectfrenchwithDylane
      @TheperfectfrenchwithDylane  3 роки тому +6

I would say that est-ce que is semi formal. I use it all the time when speaking personally. The inversion is the most formal of all.
      Very formal: Parles-tu français ?
Formal ish: Est-ce que tu parles français ?
Not formal: Tu parles français ?
