"I think, therefore I am" is a philosophical statement from Descartes. It means that when you have extreme doubt about your own existence, THAT in it of itself is proof that you do in fact exist. Because if there is a mind present there to doubt the existence, then that proves the existence is reality. The foundation of this philosophy is then applied to more complex scenarios and ideas in life with the baseline notion that questioning something alone proves it even exists to be able to question in the first place, validating one's self and thoughts.

I’ve never commented on something before but since it has not already been said, Billie is continuously body shamed. As I understand it’s been particularly terrible recently. The lyrics plus all the food she desires, were created as a FU anthem. Great reaction video!

She’s a very interesting artist and I’ve been continually impressed with how she can pull off different styles/genres in her music and it just works for her.
If you do get around to checking out more music from her, maybe start with her first track “Ocean Eyes” and then just continue chronologically from there to see how her music has developed over time.
My personal favorites from her are “ilomilo”, “bitches broken hearts”, “everything i wanted” “when the party’s over” and “you should see me in a crown”.
I"m not exactly in her demographic either as a 45 year old mother of a grown son, but I LOVE her music. She's the most original artist to hit the music scene since the late 80's and early 90's, at least in my opinion. You really should check out more of her music, not just what comes out new :).

I really hope you check out more of her work. I was in that boat where I'd heard of her, but didn't really buy into the hype of her - and then I listened. She is an artist. Her videos are movie masterpieces and her lyrics are pure poetry.

It's part of the psychological support the troops deployed abroad receive, to make their stay more comfortable, so they can work more efficiently.

I'd suggest that you start with the recorded versions and if you've become a bit familiar with her music, watch some of the live performances, especially the acoustic ones. You'll discover a world class performer, and she's in a league of her own when singing in her lower register with that beautiful emotional voice. Also, her visual creativity is unbelievable. Despite her young age of almost 19, Billie's music career has been lasting for 5 years already and she's become a complete and mature artist.
I'm looking very forward to your opinion of her work and art.

This may be a consequence of me being 67, but I had/have little patience for watching Billie walk up the escalator, take up my time as she's in the elevator, and generally take, I think 1 minute and 50 seconds of my time - waiting for the music/beat. I like the song a lot, but I think the version from the AMA awards is preferable, or the audio without the video. Although in watching the mall version several more times I think she captivates a young generation/audience... and there's some good humor in it. There may also be a message to the body shamers and paparazzi who waited for her to walk down the sidewalk and then took a video - perhaps she was saying, "how can filming me walking - just walking - be worth your time or anybody's time?"
