- Lift 109 is brand new London viewpoint experience, where you take a 360 degree viewing platform up to the top of the north west chimney of Battersea Power Station to an altitude of 109m from where panoramic vista of London skyline awaits you.
For full disclosure, this was a press invite, I was not paid to promote it, my opinions are biased only because I do like a good viewpoint, otherwise I try to give you a full breakdown of pro's and con's of it, like price, time at the top, what equipment you can or can't use etc, and is it worth a visit.

This would defo freak me out i dont like heights or lifts or glass floors so this is just a nightmare but i need to go up there looks so good

Thanks a lot, yeah the 7min is short but funny enough I did some basic math, comparing it to the pods at London eye and I’ve got no idea how much money it’s going to cost Battersea Power Station to run but i can’t see it being profitable🤣so for that reason and the price for the 7min, I don’t think it’s actually that bad

Glad you went so I could watch how it was. I was invited to a pre-launch (maybe your same day) but couldn't go because I was in Florence. But as "general public", I will likely skip this anyway: weather unpredictability, no "pro gear", very short time to look around... It's just not what I fancy. That's why we have UA-cam :D
Yeah hence I mention that for what we do, 7min if we were general public would feel short, cool but short🤷🏼♂️while for most it’d be enough, but as a one off experience, I’d still recommend you give it a go, it’s fun😀
@@LondonViewpoints btw, just got confirmation that the Shard annual pass has been discontinued.
Though they said the same in the past...
@@fabienb yep I asked the same a week ago when I was on my last visit and they same exactly that, they don’t know if they’ll be another annual pass, but as you say, they did say that in the past and yet did them at Black Friday

Interesting to hear your take on it Michael and I know from personal experience from being at Battersea a few months ago before it was open, as I had my EOS R with me (no tripod) that "professional equipment" was not allowed unless you had a permit as security approached me to say I couldn't use my camera. Was back in London few weeks ago just after it was opened and the placed was mobbed and I seen several people with DSLRs but were not getting approached by security. I grabbed some images of the Frank Gehry building and left without being approached
Yeah I hear you, got stopped by security when timelapsing a few months back, and I know that inside the BPS they enforce the pro camera body at all times, while at the Lift109 I was told that pro bodies will be ok, just no tripods and not sure yet on lenskirts as security never seen one before I showed them and asked

Hi David, thanks a lot for your kind words, yes been busy lately, I post “somewhat” regularly on ig but indeed UA-cam with the amount of time editing takes has been put a little bit on the backburner, but I’ve got a few videos I’m near finishing that I’ll upload when work eases a bit and it usually does around Jan-Feb 😀

Cool view, but 7mins is not long enough. You will probably send more time in the queue for it than the actual experience
Yeah I agree, but it is what it is, I wish they could introduce annual passes or maybe like the Emirates cable car, a cheaper pass for say 10 rides, but honestly think of it as one London eye pod, and if London eye only had like say 3 pods🤣they are not making any profits on that and most likely loosing money so it’s purely for promo of BPS so on that basis I think it’s cool that they proceeded with making it happen anyway

I really like what they've done with Battersea PS. I suspect it would have been very different had hands not been forced by its listed status.
What is it about lenscoats that venues don't like?
Yeah I like the new shopping centre and generally the area too, but glad the listed status forced them to keep the look. I’ve got no idea what day Shard doesn’t like lenskirts, it’s temporary, doesn’t leave marks, doesn’t really block other peoples view, no idea🤷🏼♂️

21£ for 7mins is too expensive!
It is, best £28 in London for a view in my opinion is the annual pass for St Paul’s , but when you treat the lift as a one of experience it’s still worth it I guess
